By Allah, I love you, Mu'adh. I give some instruction to you. Never leave to recite this supplication after every (prescribed) prayer: "O Allah, help me in remembering You, in giving You thanks, and worshipping You well." Mu'adh willed this supplication to the narrator al-Sunabihi and al-Sunabihi to 'Abu Abd al-Rahman.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ وَقَالَ يَا مُعَاذُ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لأُحِبُّكَ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لأُحِبُّكَ فَقَالَ أُوصِيكَ يَا مُعَاذُ لاَ تَدَعَنَّ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ تَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ وَأَوْصَى بِذَلِكَ مُعَاذٌ الصُّنَابِحِيَّ وَأَوْصَى بِهِ الصُّنَابِحِيُّ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took my hand and said: 'I love you, O Mu'adh!' I said: 'And I love you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Never forget to say in every prayer: Rabbi a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik (My Lord, help me to remember You, give thanks to You and worship You well.)"

أَخَذَ بِيَدِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: «إِنِّي لأُحِبُّكَ يَا مُعَاذُ۔» فَقُلْتُ: وَأَنَا أُحِبُّكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ۔ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «فَلاَ تَدَعْ أَنْ تَقُولَ فِي كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ (رَبِّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ۔)»

By Allah, I love you, Mu'adh. I give some instruction to you. [AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ met me and said, "O Mu'adh, indeed I love you." I replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I swear by Allah, I love you." He said, "Then I advise you with these words that you should say in every prayer: O Allah, assist me in remembering You, showing gratitude to You, and worshiping You excellently."

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took my hand one day and said, "O Mu'adh, by Allah, I truly love you." So, I replied, "By my father and mother, O Messenger of Allah, I swear that I love you too." He then advised me, saying, "O Mu'adh, I advise you not to leave after every prayer without saying, 'O Allah, help me in remembering You, in thanking You, and in worshipping You excellently.' And Mu'adh advised al-Sun abi al-Shibihi, and al-Sunabihi advised Abu Abdur-Rahman al-Hubuli, and he advised Uqbah ibn Muslim." This is an authentic narration, but it has not been mentioned in Sahih (al-Bukhari or Muslim).

أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِيَدِي يَوْمًا ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا مُعَاذُ وَاللَّهِ أَنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ» فَقُلْتُ لَهُ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَأَنَا وَاللَّهِ أُحَبُّكَ فَقَالَ وَأُوصِيكَ يَا مُعَاذُ لَا تَدَعَنَّ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ أَنْ تَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ «وَأَوْصَى بِذَلِكَ مُعَاذٌ الصُّنَابِحِيَّ وَأَوْصَى الصُّنَابِحِيُّ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيَّ وَأَوْصَى أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ» صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took Mu'adh by the hand and said, 'O Mu'adh, by Allah, I love you.' Mu'adh replied, 'By my father and mother, O Messenger of Allah, I love you.' The Prophet then said, 'O Mu'adh, I advise you not to neglect after every prayer to say: Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik (O Allah, help me to remember You, to thank You, and to worship You in the best way).'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ بِيَدِ مُعَاذٍ فَقَالَ «يَا مُعَاذُ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ» فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ فَقَالَ «يَا مُعَاذُ أُوصِيكَ أَنْ لَا تَدَعَنَّ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ أَنْ تَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ once took Mu'adh by the hand and said, "O Mu'adh, I swear by Allah that I love you." Mu'adh replied, "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah. I swear by Allah that I love you too." The Prophet then said, "I advise you, O Mu'adh, not to neglect saying after every prayer: 'O Allah, help me remember you, express gratitude to you, and worship you excellently'."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ يَوْمًا فَقَالَ «يَا مُعَاذُ إِنِّي وَاللَّهِ لَأُحِبُّكَ» فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَأَنَا وَاللَّهِ أُحِبُّكَ فَقَالَ «أُوصِيكَ يَا مُعَاذُ لَا تَدَعْ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ أَنْ تَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي يَوْمًا فَقَالَ يَا مُعَاذُ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي أُحِبُّكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ مُعَاذٌ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَأَنَا وَاللَّهِ أُحِبُّكَ فَقَالَ أُوصِيكَ يَا مُعَاذُ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ أَنْ تَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ وَأَوْصَى مُعَاذٌ بِذَلِكَ الصُّنَابِحِيَّ وَأَوْصَى بِهِ الصُّنَابِحِيُّ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَأَوْصَى بِهِ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took my hand one day and said, "O Mu'adh, by Allah, I truly love you." Mu'adh replied, "By my father and mother, O Messenger of Allah, I truly love you." The Prophet then advised Mu'adh, saying, "I advise you, O Mu'adh, not to leave after every prayer without saying, 'O Allah, help me to remember You, to thank You, and to worship You in the best way.' [AI] The Prophet ﷺ took my hand and said, "Verily, I love you, O Mu'adh." I replied, "By Allah, I love you too, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "I advise you to say after every prayer: 'O Allah, assist me in remembering You, in thanking You, and in worshiping You well.'"

أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ «إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ يَا مُعَاذُ» فَقَالَ قُلْتُ وَأَنَا وَاللهِ أُحِبُّكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ أُوصِيكَ بِكَلِمَاتٍ تَقُولُهُنَّ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ رَبِّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ يَا مُعَاذُ لَا تَدَعْ أَنْ تَقُولَ فِي كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ اللهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ الصُّنَابِحِيَّ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took my hand and said: 'I love you, O Mu'adh!' I said: 'And I love you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Never forget to say in every prayer: Rabbi a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik (My Lord, help me to remember You, give thanks to You and worship You well.)" "أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِى فَقَالَ: إِنِّى لأُحِبُّكَ يَا مُعَاذُ! فَقُلْتُ: وَأَنَا أُحِبُّكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: فَلا تَدَعْ أَنْ تُقولَ فِى دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلاةٍ: رَبَّى أَعِنَّى عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ".
