It is obligatory for you to listen to the ruler and obey him in adversity and prosperity, in pleasure and displeasure, and even when another person is given (rather undue) preference over you.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَيْكَ السَّمْعَ وَالطَّاعَةَ فِي عُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ وَمَنْشَطِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ وَأَثَرَةٍ عَلَيْكَ

"You have to obey when you feel energetic and when you feel tired, during your ease and your hardship, and when others are preferred over you."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ عَلَيْكَ بِالطَّاعَةِ فِي مَنْشَطِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ وَعُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ وَأَثَرَةٍ عَلَيْكَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَيْكَ السَّمْعَ وَالطَّاعَةَ فِي عُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ وَمَنْشَطِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ وَأَثَرَةٍ عَلَيْكَ وَلَا تُنَازِعِ الْأَمْرَ أَهْلَهُ وَإِنْ رَأَيْتَ أَنَّ لَكَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Listen and obey in both times of ease and hardship, in what pleases you and what displeases you, in what affects you and even if they take your wealth or strike your back, except if it involves disobedience."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «اسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ فِي عُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ وَمَنْشَطِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ وَأَثَرَةٍ عَلَيْكَ وَإِنْ أَكَلُوا مَالَكَ وَضَرَبُوا ظَهْرَكَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ مَعْصِيَةً»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Ubada!" I said, "Here I am at your service." He said, "Listen and obey in times of ease and times of hardship, in things you dislike and those that inconvenience you, even if they take your wealth or strike your back, unless they involve disobedience to Allah."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا عُبَادَةَ» قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ قَالَ «اسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ فِي عُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ وَأَثَرَةٍ عَلَيْكَ وَإِنْ أَكَلُوا مَالَكَ وَضَرَبُوا ظَهْرَكَ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَ مَعْصِيَةً لِلَّهِ بَوَاحًا»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِالطَّاعَةِ فِي مَنْشَطِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ وَعُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ وَأَثَرَةٍ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Upon you is to obey, whether you find it easy or difficult, whether you are happy or not, whether it is difficult or easy for you, and to obey despite any inconvenience caused to you."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ عَلَيْكَ بِالطَّاعَةِ فِي مَنْشَطِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ وَعُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ وَأَثَرَةً عَلَيْكَ

"عَلَيكَ بِالسَّمْعِ والطَّاعَةِ لي عُسْرِكَ، ويُسْرِكَ، وَمَنْشَطِكَ ومكرهك وأثرة عليك ولا تنازع الأَمْرَ أَهْلَهُ وإنْ رَأْيتَ أن لَكَ إلا أن يأمروكَ بإثْمٍ بواحًا عِنْدَكَ تأويله في الكتاب".

"عَلَيكُمْ بِالْسَّمع والْطَّاعةِ، فِيمَا أحبَبتُم وكَرِهْتُم، فِي مَنْشَطِكُم ومَكْرَهِكُمْ وأثَرةٍ عَلَيكم، وَلَا تُنَازَعُوا الأمَرَ أهْلهُ".

" يَا عُبَادَةُ: اسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ فِى عُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ، وَمَنْشَطِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ وَأَثَرةٍ عَلَيْكَ، وِإنْ أَكَلُوا مَالَكَ وضَرَبُوا ظَهْرَكَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ مَعْصِيَةً للهِ بَوَاحًا ".

" يَا عُبَادَةُ: اسْمَعْ وأَطِعْ فِى عُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ وَمَنْشَطِكَ ومَكْرَهِكَ، وَأَثَرَة عَلَيْكَ، وِإنْ أَكَلُوا مَالَكَ، وَضَرَبُوا ظَهْرَكَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ مَعْصِيةً بَرَاحًا ".

"عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْن الصَّامِتِ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُول الله ﷺ فَقَالَ لِى: يَا عُبَادَةُ، قُلتُ: لَبَّيْكَ يَارَسُولَ الله، قَالَ: اسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ في عُسْرِكَ وَيُسْركَ، وَمَنْشَطِكَ، وَمَكْرَهِكَ، وَأَثَرةٍ عَلَيْكَ وَإِنْ أكَلُوا مَالَكَ، وَضَرَبُوا ظَهْرَكَ إِلاَّ أنْ تَكُونَ معْصِيَةُ الله بوَاحًا (*) ".

"عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ: عَلَيْكَ الطَّاعَةُ فِى عُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ وَمَنْشَطِكَ، وَالأَثَرَةُ عَلَيْكَ، وَلَا تُنَازِعَنَّ الأَمْرَ أَهْلَهُ، وَلا تُطِعْهُ فِى مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ".
