The Prophet ﷺ said, "Soon others will be preferred to you, and there will be things which you will not like." The companions of the Prophet ﷺ asked, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! What do you order us to do ˹in this case˺? " He said, "˹I order you˺ to give the rights that are on you and to ask your rights from Allah."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ: «سَتَكُونُ أَثَرَةٌ وَأُمُورٌ تُنْكِرُونَهَا»، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟ قَالَ: «تُؤَدُّونَ الْحَقَّ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَسْأَلُونَ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَكُمْ».

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "You will see after me, selfishness (on the part of other people) and other matters that you will disapprove of." They asked, "What do you order us to do, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ? (under such circumstances)?" He said, "Pay their rights to them (to the rulers) and ask your right from Allah."

لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً وَأُمُورًا تُنْكِرُونَهَا قَالُوا فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَدُّوا إِلَيْهِمْ حَقَّهُمْ وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّكُمْ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: After me there will be favouritism and many things that you will not like. They (his Companions) said: Messenger of Allah, what do you order that one should do if anyone from us has to live through such a time? He said: You should discharge your own responsibility (by obeying your Amir), and ask God for your right (by guiding the Amir to the right path or by replacing him by one more just and God-fearing).

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةٌ وَأُمُورٌ تُنْكِرُونَهَا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ تَأْمُرُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَّا ذَلِكَ قَالَ تُؤَدُّونَ الْحَقَّ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَسْأَلُونَ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَكُمْ

"Indeed, after me you will see preferential treatment, and matters that you dislike." They said: "Then what do you command us[O Messenger of Allah!]" He said: "Give them their rights, and ask Allah for yours."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً وَأُمُورًا تُنْكِرُونَهَا قَالُوا فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَدُّوا إِلَيْهِمْ حَقَّهُمْ وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَكُمْ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, there will be leaders upon you, and you will see their aftermath." They asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what should we do if we witness such things?" He said: "Fulfill the rights that are upon you, and ask Allah for your rights."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ وَتَرَوْنَ أَثَرَةً قَالَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَمَا يَصْنَعُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَاكَ مِنَّا؟ قَالَ أَدُّوا الْحَقَّ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَسَلُوا اللهَ الَّذِي لَكُمْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ فِتَنٌ وَأُمُورٌ تُنْكِرُونَهَا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟ قَالَ تُؤَدُّونَ الْحَقَّ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَسْأَلُونَ اللهَ ﷻ الَّذِي لَكُمْ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and Muhammad ibn Ja'far told us, and Shu'bah told us from Sulaiman who said, "I heard Zaid ibn Wahb say, 'I heard Abdullah ibn Mas'ud narrate from the Prophet ﷺ , "You will see after me things that you will disapprove of and reject." We said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you command us to do if we live to see that?' He said, 'You should fulfill the rights that are upon you and ask Allah for what is for you.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً وَفِتَنًا وَأُمُورًا تُنْكِرُونَهَا قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُنَا لِمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنَّا؟ قَالَ تُؤَدُّونَ الْحَقَّ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَسْأَلُونَاللهَ الَّذِي لَكُمْ

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةٌ وَأُمُورٌ تُنْكِرُونَهَا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَكَيْفَ تَأْمُرُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنَّا ؟ قَالَ تُؤَدُّونَ الْحَقَّ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَسْأَلُونَ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَكُمْ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُهُ يُرْوَى بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ إِلَّا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ لَهُ طَرِيقًا عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا هَذَا الطَّرِيقَ وَقَدْ رَوَى عَنْ غَيْرِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ هَذَا اللَّفْظِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً وَأُمُورًا تُنْكِرُونَهَا» قُلْنَا فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟ قَالَ «أَدُّوا إِلَيْهِمْ حَقَّهُمْ وَسَلُوا اللهَ حَقَّكُمْ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "There will be occurrences and matters that you will disapprove of." They said, "So what should the one who witnesses that do, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Fulfill your obligations and ask Allah, the One for whom you have mentioned the narration, to guide you and grant you the ability to understand it, as it was narrated in the authentic way from different angles by Al-A'mash."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ أَثَرَةٌ وَأُمُورٌ تُنْكِرُونَهَا قَالُوا فَمَا يَصْنَعُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ أَدُّوا الْحَقَّ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَاسْأَلُوا اللهَ الَّذِي لَكُمْ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ يَعْلَى أَخْرَجَاهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ أَوْجُهٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ

"إِنَّكم ستَرَونَ بعدى أَثرة وَأُمُورًا تُنْكِرونها؛ قالوا: فما تأمُرَنا يا رَسُولَ اللَّه؟ قال: أدُّوا إِليهم حقَّهم، وسلُوا اللَّه حَقَّكُمْ".

"عَنْ زَيْد بْن وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الله قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ بَعْدى أَثَرَةٌ وَأُمُور تُنْكِرُونَهَا، قُلْنَا يا رَسُولَ الله مَا تَأمُرُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ منَّا ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ: تُعْطُونَ الْحَقَّ الَّذى عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَسْأَلُونَ الله الَّذى لَكُمْ".
