The Prophet ﷺ said, "There are two expressions which are very easy for the tongue to say, but they are very heavy in the balance and are very dear to The Beneficent (Allah), and they are, 'Subhan Allah Al- ʿAzim and 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi.'"

The Prophet ﷺ said, "(There are) two words which are dear to the Beneficent (Allah) and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the balance. They are: ''Subhan Allah wa-bi hamdihi'' and ''Subhan Allah Al-ʿAzim." (see Hadith 6682).

The uttering of (these words):" Hallowed be Allah; all praise is due to Allah, there is no god but Allah and Allah is the Greatest," is dearer to me than anything over which the sun rises.

(1410) bukhari:3293ʿAbdullāh b. Yūsuf > Mālik > Suma a freed slave of Abū Bakr > Abū Ṣāliḥ > Abū Hurayrah

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If one says one-hundred times in one day: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Alone Who has no partners, to Him belongs Dominion and to Him belong all the Praises, and He has power over all things (i.e. Omnipotent)", one will get the reward of manumitting ten slaves, and one-hundred good deeds will be written in his account, and one-hundred bad deeds will be wiped off or erased from his account, and on that day he will be protected from the morning till evening from Satan, and nobody will be superior to him except one who has done more than that which he has done."

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said," Whoever says: "La ilaha illal-lah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu-l-mulk wa lahul- hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shai'in qadir," one hundred times will get the same reward as given for manumitting ten slaves; and one hundred good deeds will be written in his accounts, and one hundred sins will be deducted from his accounts, and it (his saying) will be a shield for him from Satan on that day till night, and nobody will be able to do a better deed except the one who does more than he."

A description of virtues of various righteous acts

(1413) muslim:223Isḥāq b. Manṣūr > Ḥabbān b. Hilāl > Abān > Yaḥyá > Zayd > Abū Salāam > Abū Mālik al-Ashʿarī

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "(1) Purification is a part of faith; (2) al-ḥamdu lillāh (all praise and gratitude is for Allah alone) fills the scale, (3) subḥān Allāh (Perfection is to Allah alone) and al-ḥamdu lillāh fill up what is between the heavens and the earth; (4) prayer is a light; (5) charity is proof ˹of one's faith˺; (6) patience is brightness; and (7) the Quran is evidence either for you or against you."

"All men go out early in the morning and sell themselves, thereby either earning salvation or earning destruction."

Teach me the words which I should (often) utter. He said: Utter," There is no god but Allah, the One, having no partner with Him. Allah is the Greatest of the great and all praise is due to Him. Hallowed be Allah, the Lord of the worlds, there is no Might and Power but that of Allah, the All-Powerful and the Wise." He (that desert Arab) said: These all (glorify) my Lord. But what about me? Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: You should say:" O Allah, grant me pardon, have mercy upon me, direct me to righteousness and provide me sustenance." Musa (one of the narrators) said: I think he also said:" Grant me safety." But I cannot say for certain whether he said this or not. Ibn Abi Shaiba has not made a mention of the words of Musa in his narration.

The Prophet ﷺ did Istighfār three times after every Ṣalāh and asked for peace

Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer, he sought forgiveness three times and said: "O Allah! You are Salām (Peace), and peace comes from Your; Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor."

al-Walīd said that I said to Awzāʿī, "How ˹should be˺ the seeking of forgiveness?" He replied, "You should say: astaghfiru Allāh, astaghfiru Allāh (I seek forgiveness from Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah.)"

(1416) bukhari:844Muḥammad b. Yūsuf > Sufyān > ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿUmayr > And Rrād Kātib al-Mughīrah b. Shuʿbah

(the clerk of Al-Mughira bin Shuʿba) Once Al-Mughira dictated to me in a letter addressed to Muawiya that the Prophet ﷺ used to say after every compulsory prayer, "La ilaha illa l-lahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-hamdu, wa huwa ʿala kulli shay'in qadir. Allahumma la maniʿa lima aʿtaita, wa la muʿtiya lima manaʿta, wa la yanfaʿu dhal-jaddi minka l-jadd. [There is no Deity but Allah, Alone, no Partner to Him. His is the Kingdom and all praise, and Omnipotent is he. O Allah! Nobody can hold back what you gave, nobody can give what You held back, and no struggler's effort can benefit against You]." And Al-Hasan said, "Al-jadd' means prosperity [??]."

Some poor people came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "The wealthy people will get higher grades and will have permanent enjoyment and they pray like us and fast as we do. They have more money by which they perform the Hajj, and ʿUmra; fight and struggle in Allah's Cause and give in charity." The Prophet said, "Shall I not tell you a thing upon which if you acted you would catch up with those who have surpassed you? Nobody would overtake you and you would be better than the people amongst whom you live except those who would do the same. Say "Subhana l-lah", "Al hamdu li l-lah" and "Allahu Akbar" thirty three times each after every (compulsory) prayer." We differed and some of us said that we should say, "Subhan-al-lah" thirty three times and "Al hamdu li l-lah" thirty three times and "Allahu Akbar" thirty four times. I went to the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Say, "Subhan-al-lah" and "Al hamdu li l-lah" and "Allahu Akbar" all together [??], thirty three times."

In the morning charity is due from every bone in the body of every one of you. Every utterance of Allah's glorification is an act of charity. Every utterance of praise of Him is an act of charity, every utterance of profession of His Oneness is an act of charity, every utterance of profession of His Greatness is an act of charity, enjoining good is an act of charity, forbidding what is distreputable is an act of charity, and two rak'ahs which one prays in the forenoon will suffice.

some of the people from among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him: Messenger of Allah, the rich have taken away (all the) reward. They observe prayer as we do; they keep the fasts as we keep, and they give Sadaqa out of their surplus riches. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: Has Allah not prescribed for you (a course) by following which you can (also) do sadaqa? In every declaration of the glorification of Allah (i. e. saying Subhan Allah) there is a Sadaqa, and every Takbir (i. e. saying Allah-O-Akbar) is a sadaqa, and every praise of His (saying al-Hamdu Lillah) is a Sadaqa and every declaration that He is One (La illha ill-Allah) is a sadaqa, and enjoining of good is a sadaqa, and forbidding of that which is evil is a Sadaqa, and in man's sexual Intercourse (with his wife, ) there is a Sadaqa. They (the Companions) said: Messenger of Allah, is there reward for him who satisfies his sexual passion among us? He said: Tell me, if he were to devote it to something forbidden, would it not be a sin on his part? Similarly, if he were to devote it to something lawful, he should have a reward.
