"Thaqif welcomed 'Umar with a drink. He called for it, but when he brought it close to his mouth, he did not like it. He called for water to weaken it, and said: 'Do like this.'"

Whenever Ibn ʿUmar intended to go to Mecca he used to oil himself with a sort of oil that had no pleasant smell, then he would go to the Mosque of Al-Hulaita and offer the prayer, and then ride. When he mounted well on his Mount and the Mount stood up straight, he would proclaim the intention of assuming Ihram, and he used to say that he had seen the Prophet ﷺ doing the same.

Al-Bara' described to us (the nature of prostration). He placed his hands (palms), reclined on his knees, and raised his hips; he said: This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to prostrate himself. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 896)

الطبراني:١٦٨٨٥حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَجْلَانَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ §صَلَّى بِهِمْ فَنَسِيَ فَقَامَ وَعَلَيْهِ جُلُوسٌ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ الصَّلَاةِ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ

«هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُ»

[Machine] And he said, "This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ acted."
