nasai:210Muḥammad b. al-Muthanná > Sufyān > al-Zuhrī > ʿAmrah > ʿĀʾishah

"That is not menstruation, rather it is a vein. Tell her not to pray for the amount of time that her period used to last, then let her perform Ghusl and pray.' She used to perform Ghusl for every prayer.  

النسائي:٢١٠أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ كَانَتْ تُسْتَحَاضُ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ فَسَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ عِرْقٌ فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَتْرُكَ الصَّلاَةَ قَدْرَ أَقْرَائِهَا وَحَيْضَتِهَا وَتَغْتَسِلَ وَتُصَلِّيَ فَكَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلاَةٍ

(the wife of the Prophet) Um Habiba got bleeding in between the periods for seven years. She asked Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it. He ordered her to take a bath (after the termination of actual periods) and added that it was (from) a blood vessel. So she used to take a bath for every prayer.

[Machine] Um Habiba, the daughter of Jahsh, experienced istihada (irregular bleeding) for seven years. She was the wife of Abdur Rahman ibn Awf. So she asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about this. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, this is a vein and not menstruation. So perform ablution and pray." Accordingly, she would perform ablution before every prayer.  

أحمد:٢٥٠٩٥حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ وَعَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

[Machine] She said, Umm Habibah bint Jahsh asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "I have istihadah (prolonged menstruation). He said, "That is only a vein (problem), so take a bath and then perform prayer." So she used to take a bath for every prayer. Ibn Shihab said, "The Prophet ﷺ did not command her to take a bath for every prayer. She did it on her own."

"Umm Habibah bint Jahsh consulted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I suffer from Istihadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding).' He said: 'That is a vein, so perform Ghusl and pray.' And she used to perform Ghusl for every prayer." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 206)
