I was present at the gathering of Banu Salamah, and I was the youngest of them. They (the people) said: Who will ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for us about Laylat al-Qadr? That was the twenty-first of Ramadan. I went out and said the sunset prayer along with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I then stood at the door of his house. He passed by me and said: Come in. I entered (the house) and dinner was brought for him. I was prevented from taking food as it was scanty. When he finished his dinner, he said to me: Give me my shoes. He then stood up and I also stood up with him. He said: Perhaps you have some business with me. I said: Yes. Some people of Banu Salamah have sent me to you to ask you about Laylat al-Qadr. He asked: Which night: Is it tonight? I said: Twenty-second. He said: This is the very night. He then withdrew and said: Or the following night, referring to the twenty-third night. [Machine] A group of the Ansar (the inhabitants of Medina) said, "Who is the person asking the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)?" It was said, "Abdullah" so I (the narrator) said, "It is me." They said, "Go and ask him about the Night of Qadr (Laylat al-Qadr) for us." So I went until I reached the sunset on the outskirts of the Prophet's (PBUH) abode reciting some of the poetry of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). Then the Prophet (PBUH) came out and performed the Maghrib prayer. When he finished, I followed him until he entered his house and I was with him. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) then called for his dinner and when he finished, he called for his shoes and said, "I think you have a need." I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so and so-and-so sent me to ask you about the Night of Qadr." He said, "It is tonight, which is the twenty-second night of Ramadan." I said, "Is it the night of the twenty-second of Ramadan?" He said, "No, rather it is the night of the twenty-third." Abu Abdur-Rahman Musa bin Ya'qub said, "He (Abdullah) was not strong in determining."

Abu Abdul Rahman Ishaq ibn Rashid said, "He is not the strongest in narration among Al-Zuhri and Musa ibn A'yan, but he is trustworthy."

nasai-kubra:3413ʿAmr b. ʿAlī > Yaḥyá > ʿIkrimah b. ʿAmmār

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, tell me about the Night of Qadr. Is it in every Ramadan?" He said, "Yes." I said, "Do you then join the ranks of the prophets and are raised with them when they are raised, or is it until the Day of Resurrection?" He said, "No, rather until the Day of Resurrection." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated and I became unmindful of what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, so I said, "By my father and mother, which Ramadan is it?" He said, "In the first ten days and the last ten days." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated and I became unmindful of what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, so I said, "By my father and mother, O Messenger of Allah, which of the twenty days is it?" He said, "In the last ten days." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated and I became unmindful of what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, so I said, "By my father and mother, O Messenger of Allah, I swear by my right upon you, when is it?" He became angry, a type of anger that he had not had before. Then he said, "In the last seven days. Do not ask me about anything after that."
