30. Transactions
٣٠۔ كِتَابُ الْبُيُوعِ
the Messenger of Allah forbade meeting traders on the way. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4498)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ التَّلَقِّي
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited receiving bribes until they enter the market. Abu Usama acknowledged this, saying "yes."
نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ تَلَقِّي الْجَلْبِ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ بِهَا السُّوقَ فَأَقَرَّ بِهِ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَ نَعَمْ
"What does a town-dweller (selling) for a desert-dweller mean?" he said: "He should not act as a broker for him," (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4500)
نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يُتَلَقَّى الرُّكْبَانُ وَأَنْ يَبِيعَ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَا قَوْلُهُ لَا يَبِيعُ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ؟ قَالُوا لَا يَكُونُ لَهُ سِمْسَارًا
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Do and whoever meets any of them and buys from him the vendor has the choice of annulling the transaction when he comes to the marketplace."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4501)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَلَقَّوُا الْجَلْبَ فَمَنْ تَلَقَّاهُ فَاشْتَرَى مِنْهُ فَإِذَا أَتَى سَيِّدُهُ السُّوقَ فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ»
