ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ إِبَاحَةَ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ الشُّرْبَ فِي الظُّرُوفِ إِنَّمَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ خَلَا الشَّيْءَ الَّذِي يُسْكِرُ كَثِيرُهُ

[Machine] "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during a journey. He stopped with us when we were near a thousand riders, and he prayed two units of prayer with us. Then he faced us with his face and his eyes filled with tears. Umar approached him and said, 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! What is the matter with you?' He ﷺ said, 'I requested permission to seek forgiveness for my mother, but it was not granted to me. So my eyes shed tears out of mercy for her from the Fire. And I had forbidden you from three things: visiting graves, but now visit them and it will increase your goodness; meat from sacrificed animals after three days, but now you may eat it or withhold as you wish; and drinking from vessels, but now you may drink from any vessel and do not consume intoxicants.'"  

ابن حبّان:٥٣٩٠أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ* قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ الْإِيَامِيِّ عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَنَزَلَ بِنَا وَنَحْنُ قَرِيبٌ مِنْ أَلْفِ رَاكِبٍ فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ وَعَيْنَاهُ تَذْرِفَانِ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ عُمَرُ فَفَدَّاهُ بِالْأَبِ وَالْأُمِّ وَقَالَ مَا لَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ فَقَالَ ﷺ «إِنِّي اسْتَأْذَنْتُ فِي الِاسْتِغْفَارِ لِأُمِّي فَلَمْ يَأْذَنْ لِي فَدَمَعَتْ عَيْنِي رَحْمَةً لَهَا مِنَ النَّارِ وَإِنِّي كُنْتُ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ الْقُبُورِ فَزُورُوهَا وَلْتَزِدْكُمْ زِيَارَتُهَا خَيْرًا وَإِنِّي كُنْتُ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِي بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ فَكُلُوا وَأَمْسِكُوا مَا شِئْتُمْ وَإِنِّي كُنْتُ نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنِ الْأَشْرِبَةِ فِي الْأَوْعِيَةِ فَاشْرَبُوا فِي أَيِّ وِعَاءٍ شِئْتُمْ وَلَا تَشْرَبُوا مُسْكِرًا»

A and I forbade you to drink form (certain kinds of) vessels, but now drink form whatever kind of vessel you want but do not drink any kind of intoxicant." (Sahih ) Muhammad (one of the narrators) did not mention: "kept (whatever you want).

He then performed two rak'ahs of prayer, and then turned towards us with tears flowing from his eyes. Umar ibn al-Khattab went up to him and said, 'May my mother and father be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah. What is the matter with you?' He replied, 'I asked my Lord for forgiveness for my mother, but He did not grant me permission. So, my eyes shed tears of mercy for her from the Fire. And I had forbidden you from three things: visiting graves, but now visit them, for it will remind you of the Hereafter. I had also forbidden you from consuming sacrificial meat after three days, so now eat and hold onto whatever you wish. And I had forbidden you from drinking from containers, so now drink from any vessel you prefer, and do not consume intoxicants.'"

[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ close to a thousand riders, so he stopped with us and prayed two units of prayer. Then he turned to us with his face, and his eyes were shedding tears. Umar approached him and said, "May my mother and father be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! What's wrong with you?" He said, "I sought permission from my Lord to seek forgiveness for my mother, but He did not grant me permission. So, my eyes shed tears out of mercy for her. And I sought permission from my Lord to visit her grave, and He granted me permission. And indeed, I had prohibited you from visiting graves, but now visit them, as it will increase you in goodness."  

الحاكم:١٣٩١أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ ثنا زُهَيْرٌ ثنا زُبَيْدٌ عَنْ مُحَارِبِ بْنِ دِثَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
