In the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ the sun eclipsed and then he offered a two rakʿat prayer.

انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ

'A'isha reported that there was a solar eclipse during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) and he sent the announcer (to summon them) for congregational prayer. The people gathered together and he pronounced takbir and he observed four rak'ahs, in the form of two rak'ahs (i. e. he observed two qiyams and two ruku's in one rak'ah) and four prostrations.

أَنَّ الشَّمْسَ خَسَفَتْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَبَعَثَ مُنَادِيًا الصَّلاَةَ جَامِعَةً فَاجْتَمَعُوا وَتَقَدَّمَ فَكَبَّرَ وَصَلَّى أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ

"The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ commanded a caller to call out that prayer was about to begin in congregation. So they gathered and formed rows, and he led them in prayer, bowing four times in two rak'ahs and prostrating four times."

خَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي أَنَّ الصَّلاَةَ جَامِعَةً فَاجْتَمَعُوا وَاصْطَفُّوا فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed on the day the sun was eclipsed, bowing four times in two rak'ahs and prostrating four times.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلَّى يَوْمَ كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ

Aishah said: "The sun was eclipsed during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and it was called out: 'As-salatu jam'iah (prayer is about to begin in congregation).' So the people gathered and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led them in prayer, bowing four times in two rak'ahs and prostrating four times."

خَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَنُودِيَ الصَّلاَةُ جَامِعَةٌ فَاجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed during an eclipse in a shaded area near Zamzam, bowing four times and prostrating four times.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلَّى فِي كُسُوفٍ فِي صُفَّةِ زَمْزَمَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي أَرْبَعِ سَجَدَاتٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed when there was an eclipse of the sun like our prayer, bowing and prostrating.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلَّى حِينَ انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ مِثْلَ صَلاَتِنَا يَرْكَعُ وَيَسْجُدُ

[AI] The sun was setting on the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he prayed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform rukoo' (bowing) and sujood (prostration). Hajjaj said, "Our prayers are like his prayers."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَّى فِي كُسُوفٍ فِي صُفَّةِ زَمْزَمَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ»

[AI] The sun became covered during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he sent a caller who called for a congregational prayer. The people gathered and he led them in four units of prayer, with four prostrations in each unit. Then he recited the Tashahhud and made the Salam. This narration is found in the authentic hadith, reported by Muhammad ibn Mihran from Al-Walid ibn Muslim.
