ʿNo one (truly) believes until he believes in four things; until he believes that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah Who sent me with the truth, and until he believes in the resurrection after death, and until he believes in the divine will and decree.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 758)

Faith has over seventy branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no god but Allah, and the humblest of which is the removal of a bone from the road. And modesty is a branch of faith. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4676)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah will admit the people of paradise into paradise, admitting whomever He wants by His mercy, and He will admit the people of hellfire. Then, He will say, 'Take out whoever has even an atom's weight of faith in their heart.' They will be taken out burnt. They will be thrown into a river in paradise and they will grow like a seed grows on the bank of a flowing stream. Have you not seen how it comes out yellow and twisted?"

ibnhibban:183al-Ḥasan b. Sufyān > Yaḥyá b. Abū Rajāʾ b. Abū ʿUbaydah al-Ḥarrānī > Zuhayr b. Muʿāwiyah > Abū al-Zubayr > Jābir

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said: "When the people of Paradise and the people of Hellfire are distinguished, the people of Paradise will enter Paradise, and the people of Hellfire will enter Hellfire. Then, the messengers will stand up and intercede, and it will be said, 'Go, and whoever you recognize in their hearts even to the weight of a mustard seed of faith, take them out.' So they will take out many people. Then it will be said, 'Go, and whoever you recognize in their hearts even to the weight of a tiny particle of faith, take them out.' So they will take out many people. Then Allah, the Most High, will say, 'I am now going to bring out of Hellfire those whom I caused to enter Paradise because of My mercy.' So He will bring out many times more than they took out, until they become like charcoal. They will be thrown into a river or a flowing stream in Paradise, and their burnt skin will fall off by the riverbank. Then they will emerge as white as pearls. It will be written on their necks: 'The Freed Ones of Allah,' and they will be called 'the Hellfire Dwellers.'"

ibnhibban:184Muḥammad b. ʿUmar b. Yūsuf b. Ḥamzah > Naṣr b. ʿAlī al-Jahḍamī > Bishr b. al-Mufaḍḍal > Abū Maslamah > Abū Naḍrah > Abū Saʿīd

The (permanent) inhabitants of the Fire are those who are doomed to it, and verily they would neither die nor live in it (al-Qur'an, xx. 47; lxxxvii. 13). But the people whom the Fire would afflict (temporarily) on account of their sins, or so said (the narrator)" on account of their misdeeds," He would cause them to die till they would be turned into charcoal. Then they would be granted intercession and would be brought in groups and would be spread on the rivers of Paradise and then it would be said: O inhabitants of Paradise, pour water over them; then they would sprout forth like the sprouting of seed in the silt carried by flood. A man among the people said: (It appears) as if the Messenger of Allah lived in the steppe. (Using translation from Muslim 185a)

If this verse were revealed in relation to the Jews (i e. "This day I have perfected your religion for you and have completed My favours for you and have chosen for you al-Islam as religion") we would have taken the day of rejoicing on which this verse was revealed. Thereupon 'Umar said: I know the day on which it was revealed and the hour when it was revealed and where Messenger of Allah ﷺ had been when it was revealed. It was revealed on the night of Friday and we were in 'Arafat with Messenger of Allah ﷺ at that time. (Using translation from Muslim 3017b)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the morning prayer at al-Hudaibiyyah after rain which has fallen during the night, and when he finished, he turned to the people and said: Do you know what your Lord has said ? They said: Allah and His Apostle know best. He said: This morning there were among mt servants one who believes in me and one who disbelieves. The one who said: "We have been given rain by Allah's grace and mercy" is the one who believes in me and disbelieves in the star ; but the one who said: "We have been given rain by such and such a rain star," is the one who disbelieves in me and believes in the star. [Machine] The Prophet ﷺ set off towards Baqi' al-Gharqad, and I followed him. He said, "O Abu Dharr!" I replied, "Here I am, at your service, and I am your sacrifice." He said, "The ones who have much in this world will have little on the Day of Judgment, except the ones who say, 'This is for the sake of Allah and this is for the sake of Allah,' with their right and left hands." He repeated this three times. Then, we came across Uhud, and he said, "O Abu Dharr, it pleases me that even if the family of Muhammad receive gold equivalent to the value of a dinar or less, it should be divided among them." I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." Then, we came across a valley, and the Prophet ﷺ settled there. I sat on its edge, thinking that he had a need, so I approached him slowly, and my assumption was wrong. I overheard a conversation, and he said, "That is Jibril informing me regarding my Ummah, that whoever among them testifies that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, will enter Paradise." I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what if he commits adultery and theft?" He replied, "Even if he commits adultery and theft."

Should I be asked to intercede, I would certainly intercede for you, and if I have the power, I would certainly do good to you, and then observed: By Allah, never did I hear anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which could have been a source of benefit to you and then not conveyed it to you except this single hadith. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died and Abu Bakr ؓ became (caliph) after him, and some of the Arabs apostatized,ʻUmar ؓ said: O Abu Bakr, how can you fight the people when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿI have been ordered to fight the people until they bear witness that there is no god except Allah. Whoever bears witness that there is no god except Allah has protected his wealth and his life from me, except in cases dictated by Islamic law, and their reckoning will be with Allahʿ? Abu Bakr ؓ said: by Allah I shall certainly fight the one who separates prayer and zakah, for zakah is what is due from wealth. By Allah, whoever withholds from me a goat that they used to give (in zakah) to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I shall fight them for withholding it. 'Umar said: By Allah, as soon as I realized that Allah had opened the heart of Abu Bakr to fighting, I realized that it was the right thing to do. (Using translation from Aḥmad 117)

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ in a battle when the people suffered from severe hunger. They sought permission from the Messenger of Allah to slaughter some of their animals. 'Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah, how will it be for us when we face our enemies while we are hungry and weak?" But if you, O Messenger of Allah, see fit to call the people for the remainder of their provisions, they will come with it. A man will bring a container of food, and above that will be another container. The one who brought the largest amount was the one who brought a container of dates. The Prophet gathered them on a mat and invoked Allah with what Allah willed him to invoke. Then he called the people with their utensils, and there was not a single utensil left in the army except that it was filled, and an equal amount remained. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his molars were visible, then he said, "I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah. And I bear witness before Allah that no believer will meet Him with these two testimonies without Allah screening him from the Fire on the Day of Judgment."

[Machine] He informed him that 'Utban ibn Malik, who was from the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and had participated in the Battle of Badr among the Ansar, came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have lost my eyesight, but I still pray for my people. When it rains, the valley between me and the mosque floods, and I cannot go to their mosque to pray for them. I wish that you, O Messenger of Allah, would come and pray in my house and make it a place of worship." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "I will do that." The next day, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and Abu Bakr As-Siddiq entered the house when the day had brightened. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sought permission, and I granted him permission. He did not sit down until he entered the house, and then he said, "Where would you like me to pray in your house?" I pointed to a corner of the house. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) stood up, said the Takbir, and we stood behind him. He prayed two Rak'ahs and then said the Salam. We detained him in a corner which we made for him. Some men from the people of the house surrounded him until a large number of men gathered in the house. One of them said, "Where is Malik ibn Dukhshun?" Some of them said, "He is a hypocrite and does not love Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to them, "Do not say that to him. Do you not see that he has said, 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah,' seeking the Face of Allah with that?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best. We only see his face and his advice to the hypocrites." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Indeed, Allah, the Most Exalted and High, has forbidden the Fire for whoever says, 'There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah,' seeking the Face of Allah with it."

“A man from my nation will be called before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection, and ninety-nine scrolls will be spread out for him, each one extending as far as the eye can see. Then Allah will say: “Do you deny anything of this?” He will say: “No, O Lord.” He will say: “Have My recording scribes been unfair to you?” Then He will say: “Apart from that, do you have any good deeds?” The man will be terrified and will say: “No.” (Allah) will say: “Indeed, you have good deeds with Us, and you will not be treated unjustly this Day.” Then a card will be brought out on which is written Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah wa anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu (I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger). He will say: “O Lord, what is this card compared with these scrolls?” He will say: “You will not be treated unjustly.” Then the scrolls will be placed in one side of the Balance and the card in the other. The scrolls will go up (i.e., be light) and the card will go down (i.e., will weigh heavily).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4300)
