ibnhibban:240Abū Yaʿlá > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar al-Qawārīrī > Yaḥyá al-Qaṭṭān > ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. Jaʿfar from my father > Ḥakīm b. Aflaḥ > Abū Masʿūd

“The Muslim has four things due from the Muslim: He should answer [by saying Yarhamuk-Allah (may Allah have mercy on you)] to him if he sneezes (and says Al-Hamdulillah); he should accept his invitation if he invites him; he should attend his funeral if he dies; and he should visit him if he falls sick.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1434)

ibnhibban:242Abū Khalīfah > al-Qaʿnabī > ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Muḥammad > al-ʿAlāʾ from his father > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The rights of a Muslim upon another Muslim are six." They asked, "What are these rights?" He replied, "When you meet him, greet him with salaam (Islamic greeting), when he invites you, accept his invitation, when he seeks advice, advise him, when he sneezes and praises Allah, say 'Yarhamuk Allah' (may Allah have mercy on you), when he is ill, visit him, and when he dies, accompany his funeral procession."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Who can tell me about a tree that is similar to a believer? Its roots are firm and its branches are in the sky, constantly bearing fruit with the permission of its Lord?" Abdullah said, "I intended to say that it is the date palm, but my father stopped me." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) then said, "It is the date palm." I mentioned this to my father and he said, "If you had said it, it would have been dearer to me than this and that," pointing to some red camels.

ibnhibban:246Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Sāmī > Yaḥyá b. Ayyūb al-Maqābirī > Ismāʿīl b. Jaʿfar > ʿAbdullāh b. Dīnār > Ibn ʿUmar

There is a tree amongst trees, the leaves of which do not wither and that is like a Muslim; tell me which that (tree) can be? The people began to think of the trees of the forest. Abdullah said: I thought that it could be the date-palm tree, but I felt hesitant (to say that). They (the Companions) then said: Messenger of Allah, (kindly) tell us which that can be? Thereupon he said: It is the date-palm tree. I made a mention of that to 'Umar, whereupon he said: Had you said that it meant the date-palin tree, this statement of yours (would have been dearer to me) than such and such things. (Using translation from Muslim 2811a)

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The example of a believer is like that of a bee, it only eats what is good and pure, and it only leaves behind what is good and pure."

He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: This is how hypocrites pray, this is how hypocrites pray, this is how hypocrites pray: He sits (watching the sun), and when it becomes yellow and is between the horns of the devil, or is on the horns of the devil, he rises and prays for rak'ahs quickly, remembering Allah only seldom during them. So we got up and prayed, and when we finished he said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "That is the prayer of the hypocrite: he sits and delays 'Asr prayer until (the sun) is between the horns of the Shaitan, then he gets up and pecks four (Rak'ahs) in which he only remembers Allah a little.'" [Machine] He used to narrate in Makkah while Abdullah bin Umar and Abdullah bin Safwan and some of the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) were with him. Ubaid bin Umayr said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'The example of a hypocrite is like a sheep between two herds. If it goes towards one herd, it is struck, and if it goes towards the other herd, it is struck.'" Ibn Umar said, "It was not like this." Ubaid bin Umayr became angry and said, "Are you rejecting what I said?" He replied, "I am only responding to you because I witnessed the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying this." Abdullah bin Safwan asked, "So, how did he say it, O Abu Abdur-Rahman?" He replied, "Between the two Rabie'ahs." Abdullah bin Safwan said, "O Abu Abdur-Rahman, between the two Rabie'ahs and between the two herds is the same." He said, "That's what I heard, that's what I heard, that's what I heard." And whenever Ibn Umar heard something from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), he did not exaggerate or diminish it.

[Machine] Abu Al-Qasim (peace be upon him) said, "No servant gives charity from lawful earnings except that Allah accepts it only if it is pure, and it does not ascend to the heavens except in a pure state, as if he places it in the hand of the Most Merciful and He nurtures it for him, just as one of you nurtures a young horse or camel until even a morsel or a date will appear on the Day of Resurrection as a mountain."
