4. Book of Faith
[Machine] I heard one of them from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and the other one I am saying.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that a man will come on the Day of Judgment and will take his father's hand, wanting to admit him to Paradise. Then it will be announced that Paradise does not enter any polytheist, as Allah has forbidden Paradise to every polytheist. The man will ask, "Who is my Lord? Who is my Lord?" He will then transform into an ugly form with a foul smell, and he will be left. Abu Sa'eed said, "The companions of Muhammad ﷺ saw him as Ibrahim, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not add anything to it."
[Machine] “When this verse was revealed: 'Those who believe and do not mix their faith with wrongdoing,' the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, 'Which one of us has not wronged himself?' He replied, 'This verse was then revealed: 'Indeed, associating others with Allah is a great injustice.'"
«لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَمْ يَلْبِسُوا} إِيمَانَهُمْ بِظُلْمٍ قَالَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّنَا لَمْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُ؟ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ {إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ}
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever has (the following) four characteristics will be a pure hypocrite: "If he speaks, he tells a lie; if he gives a promise, he breaks it, if he makes a covenant he proves treacherous; and if he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent evil insulting manner (unjust). And whoever has one of these characteristics, has one characteristic of a hypocrite, unless he gives it us." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3178)

[Machine] "From the Prophet (peace be upon him) with its equivalent."
4.7 [Machine] What is mentioned about polytheism and hypocrisy?
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Three ˹traits˺ that if one possesses them is a hypocrite – even if he fasts, prays, and claims to be a Muslim: one who (1) when he speaks, he lies, (2) when he promises, he breaks it, and (3) when he is entrusted, he betrays."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever misses the Jumu'ah (Friday prayer) three times without a valid excuse is a hypocrite."
[Machine] Falasi yatumā fī al-ḥujra fafaraghna waṭawwala huwa thumma insarafa ilaynā fakāna awwala mā kallamana bihi an qāla qāla rasūlullāh ﷺ "tilka ṣalātu al-munāfiqīna yumhilu aḥaduhum ḥattā iḍā kānat al-shamsu 'alā qarneyi al-shayṭān qaama fanaqara arba'an lā yaẓkuru Allāha fīhā illā qalīlā".
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Shall I not inform you about the prayer of the hypocrites? They delay the 'Asr prayer until it is between the horns of the devil, or on the horns of the devil, then they perform it hastily like the pecking of a rooster. They do not mention Allah in it except a little."
We came upon Anas b. Malik after the Zuhr prayer. He stood for saying the 'Asr prayer. When he became free from praying, we mentioned to him about observing prayer in its early period or he himself mentioned it. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: This is how hypocrites pray, this is how hypocrites pray, this is how hypocrites pray: He sits (watching the sun), and when it becomes yellow and is between the horns of the devil, or is on the horns of the devil, he rises and prays for rak'ahs quickly, remembering Allah only seldom during them. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 413)
'Have you prayed 'Asr?' We said: 'No, we have just finished Zuhr.' He said: 'Pray 'Asr.' So we got up and prayed, and when we finished he said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "That is the prayer of the hypocrite: he sits and delays 'Asr prayer until (the sun) is between the horns of the Shaitan, then he gets up and pecks four (Rak'ahs) in which he only remembers Allah a little.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 511)
[Machine] "Fasalliya 'indana fil-hujrati fafaraghna wa tawwala huwa wansarafa ilayna, fakana awalama kallamana bihi an qala innarasulullahi salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam qala "Tilka salatu al-munafiqein, yaq'udu ahaduhum hatta izakanta 'ala qarni ash-shaytani aw bayna qarnayi ash-shaytani qama fanakra arba'an, la yadhkuru Allah fiha illa qaleela."
In English, it translates to: "He prayed with us in the room, then he finished and lengthened his stay, and finally he turned towards us. The first thing he said to us was that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'That is the prayer of the hypocrites. One of them sits until it is almost time for the prayer to end, then he quickly stands up and makes four quick rak'ahs, in which he hardly remembers Allah.'"
[Machine] He used to narrate in Makkah while Abdullah bin Umar and Abdullah bin Safwan and some of the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) were with him. Ubaid bin Umayr said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'The example of a hypocrite is like a sheep between two herds. If it goes towards one herd, it is struck, and if it goes towards the other herd, it is struck.'" Ibn Umar said, "It was not like this." Ubaid bin Umayr became angry and said, "Are you rejecting what I said?" He replied, "I am only responding to you because I witnessed the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saying this." Abdullah bin Safwan asked, "So, how did he say it, O Abu Abdur-Rahman?" He replied, "Between the two Rabie'ahs." Abdullah bin Safwan said, "O Abu Abdur-Rahman, between the two Rabie'ahs and between the two herds is the same." He said, "That's what I heard, that's what I heard, that's what I heard." And whenever Ibn Umar heard something from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), he did not exaggerate or diminish it.
