[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ in a battle when the people suffered from severe hunger. They sought permission from the Messenger of Allah to slaughter some of their animals. 'Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah, how will it be for us when we face our enemies while we are hungry and weak?" But if you, O Messenger of Allah, see fit to call the people for the remainder of their provisions, they will come with it. A man will bring a container of food, and above that will be another container. The one who brought the largest amount was the one who brought a container of dates. The Prophet gathered them on a mat and invoked Allah with what Allah willed him to invoke. Then he called the people with their utensils, and there was not a single utensil left in the army except that it was filled, and an equal amount remained. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his molars were visible, then he said, "I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah. And I bear witness before Allah that no believer will meet Him with these two testimonies without Allah screening him from the Fire on the Day of Judgment."

[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a battle when the people suffered from hunger. So the people asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for permission to slaughter some of their camels, saying, "Allah will suffice us with them." When Umar ibn al-Khattab saw that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was inclined to give them permission to slaughter their camels, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, what will happen to us when we meet the enemy tomorrow while we are hungry men? But if you see, O Messenger of Allah, that you call the people to bring the remaining food that they have, so the people brought a handful of food each, and above that, the best among them brought a sa' of dates. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and prayed for whatever Allah willed him to pray for, then he called the army to bring their vessels, and ordered them to fill whatever was left of the army. So they did not leave any vessel empty, but filled it, and there was an equal amount remaining. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his back teeth became visible.

[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a battle, and the people were struck by starvation. The people sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to slaughter some of the camels on their backs, saying that it would reach Allah. When Umar ibn Al-Khattab saw that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had the intention to grant them permission to slaughter some of the camels on their backs, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, what would happen to us when we meet the enemy while we are hungry and weak? But if you, O Messenger of Allah, see that you call the people to gather the remains of their provisions and gather them, and then you supplicate to Allah for blessings upon them." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for the provisions and collected them. The people started bringing food, including dates, and the highest amount brought by anyone was a sa' of dates (equivalent to approximately three kilograms). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered them and then stood up to pray as long as Allah willed him to. Then he called the army with their utensils and ordered them to fill them with food. There was not a single utensil left in the army that was not filled, and the same amount remained. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his molars became visible, then he said, "I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah. Allah will not meet a servant who believes in these two testimonies except that He will enter him into Paradise on the Day of Resurrection, and the Fire will be forbidden for him."
