[Machine] "You used to bring matters that are more meticulous in your eyes than hair. We used to count them during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, from the destructive things." Then, it was mentioned to Muhammad ibn Sirin, and he said, "He spoke the truth, and I see the folds of the garment because of that."  

الدارمي:٢٨١٠حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ هُوَ ابْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ قُرْطٍ قَالَ

«إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ أُمُورًا هِيَ أَدَقُّ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّعْرِ كُنَّا نَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ» فَذُكِرَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سِيرِينَ فَقَالَ «صَدَقَ فَأَرَى جَرَّ الْإِزَارِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ»

[Machine] Zaid said, "I heard Anas ibn Malik say, 'I know of sins today that are more trivial in your eyes than a strand of hair. We used to consider them major sins during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .'"

زَيْدٍقَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ إِنِّي لَأَعْرِفُ الْيَوْمَ ذُنُوبًا هِيَ أَدَقُّ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّعْرِ كُنَّا نَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْكَبَائِرِ

[Machine] "Ubada ibn Qurt, indeed you come with matters that are more sensitive in your eyes than hair. We used to count them during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the harmful things. That was mentioned to Muhammad ibn Sireen and he said, 'It is true, and I also see the hem of the garment dragged from it.'"  

أحمد:١٥٨٥٩حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ قَالَ

عُبَادَةُ بْنُ قُرْطٍ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ أُمُورًا هِيَ أَدَقُّ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّعَرِ كُنَّا نَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْمُوبِقَاتِ قَالَ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ وَأَرَى جَرَّ الْإِزَارِ مِنْهَا

[Machine] Indeed, you are doing actions that are more delicate in your eyes than [strands of] hair, if we were to count them according to the scale of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the sinful deeds.  

أحمد:١٢٦٠٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيٌّ حَدَّثَنِي غَيْلَانُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

إِنَّكُمْ لَتَعْمَلُونَ أَعْمَالًا هِيَ أَدَقُّ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّعْرِ إِنْ كُنَّا لَنَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ

[Machine] "Indeed, you used to do deeds that were more precious in your eyes than hair. We used to count them during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ among the calamities."  

أحمد:١٠٩٩٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ رَاشِدٍعَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

إِنَّكُمْ لَتَعْمَلُونَ أَعْمَالًا لَهِيَ أَدَقُّ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّعْرِ كُنَّا نَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ

[Machine] Translation: "Ubada bin Qurt, indeed you bring things that are finer in your eyes than hair. We used to count them during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as prohibitions. So, they mentioned that to Muhammad, and he said, 'Indeed, you speak the truth. I see a thread of the garment from it.'"  

أحمد:٢٠٧٥٠حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ قَالَ

عُبَادَةُ بْنُ قُرْطٍ إِنَّكُمْ تَأْتُونَ أَشْيَاءَ هِيَ أَدَقُّ فِي أَعْيُنِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّعْرِ كُنَّا نَعُدُّهَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْمُوبِقَاتِ قَالَ فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ صَدَقَ أَرَى جَرَّ الْإِزَارِ مِنْهُ  

ahmad-zuhd:1084ʿAbdullāh from my father > ʿAbd al-Malik b. ʿAmr > ʿAbbād b. Rāshid > Dāwud b. Abū Hind > Abū Naḍrah > Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī ؒ

Anas said "You people do (bad) deeds (commit sins) which seem in your eyes as tiny (minute) than hair while we used to consider those (very deeds) during the life-time of the Prophet ﷺ as destructive sins." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6492)   

الزهد لأحمد:١٠٨٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدَ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ قَالَ
