The Prophet ﷺ used to pray eleven rakʿat in the late part of the night, and when dawn appeared, he would offer two rakʿat and then lie on his right side till the Muadhdhin came to inform him (that the morning prayer was due).

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فَإِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَجِيءَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَيُؤْذِنَهُ

'A'isha reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eleven rak'ahs at night, observing the Witr with a single rak'ah, and when he had finished them, he lay down on his right side, till the Mu'adhdhin came to him and he (the Holy Prophet) then observed two short rak'ahs (of Sunan of the dawn prayer).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُوتِرُ مِنْهَا بِوَاحِدَةٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْهَا اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eleven rak'ahs (at night, observing the witr with one rak'ahs). When he finished it (the prayer), he would lie down on his right side.

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُوتِرُ مِنْهَا بِوَاحِدَةٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْهَا اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ

"Messenger of Allah (S) would pray eleven Rak'ah at night, making them off with one. When he finished them he would lay down on his right side."

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eleven units (rak'ahs) after the evening prayer (Isha), then in the morning, he would pray two light units (rak'ahs), and then he would lie down on his right side until the Muadhin (caller to prayer) came and called him for prayer.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فَإِذَا أَصْبَحَ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَيُؤْذِنَهُبِالصَّلَاةِ

[AI] When the Mu'adhin finished calling the Adhan, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray two brief Rak'ahs, then lay down on his right side until the Mu'adhin came to inform him to start the prayer.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا ثَوَّبَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ صَلَّىرَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَيُؤْذِنَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eleven units of prayer during the night. When the dawn came, he would pray two quick units of prayer, then lie down on his right side until the Mu'adhin calls him for prayer.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فَإِذَا فَجَرَ الْفَجْرُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ اتَّكَأَ عَلَىشِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ يُؤْذِنُهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Urwa ibn az- Zubayr from A'isha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eleven rakas in the night, making them odd by a single one, and when he had finished he lay down on his right side.

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُوتِرُ مِنْهَا بِوَاحِدَةٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ «يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُوتِرُ مِنْهَا بِوَاحِدَةٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْهَا اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنَ»
