[Machine] When the Mu'adhin finished calling the Adhan, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray two brief Rak'ahs, then lay down on his right side until the Mu'adhin came to inform him to start the prayer.  

أحمد:٢٤٥٥٠حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا ثَوَّبَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ صَلَّىرَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَيُؤْذِنَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray two light rakʿat before the morning (compulsory) prayer after the day dawned and the Mu'adh-dhin had finished his Adhan. He then would lie on his right side till the Mu'adh-dhin came to pronounce the Iqama.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ بِالأُولَى مِنْ صَلاَةِ الْفَجْرِ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلاَةِ الْفَجْرِ بَعْدَ أَنْ يَسْتَبِينَ الْفَجْرُ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لِلإِقَامَةِ

The Prophet ﷺ used to pray eleven rakʿat in the late part of the night, and when dawn appeared, he would offer two rakʿat and then lie on his right side till the Muadhdhin came to inform him (that the morning prayer was due).

'A'isha reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eleven rak'ahs at night, observing the Witr with a single rak'ah, and when he had finished them, he lay down on his right side, till the Mu'adhdhin came to him and he (the Holy Prophet) then observed two short rak'ahs (of Sunan of the dawn prayer).  

مسلم:٧٣٦aحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray eleven units (rak'ahs) after the evening prayer (Isha), then in the morning, he would pray two light units (rak'ahs), and then he would lie down on his right side until the Muadhin (caller to prayer) came and called him for prayer.

"When the Muaddhin fell silent after the Adhan for the beginning of Fajr, he would pray two brief rak'ahs, then he would lie down on his right side." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1762)
