The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever keeps a (pet) dog which is neither a watch dog nor a hunting dog, will get a daily deduction of two Qirat from his good deeds."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا لَيْسَ بِكَلْبِ مَاشِيَةٍ أَوْ ضَارِيَةٍ نَقَصَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ قِيرَاطَانِ
I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "If someone keeps a dog neither for hunting, nor for guarding livestock, the reward (for his good deeds) will be reduced by two Qirats per day."

Ibn 'Umar reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying He who kept a dog other than one meant for hunting or for watching the herd lost out of his deeds (equal to) two qirat every day.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّمَا أَهْلِ دَارٍ اتَّخَذُوا كَلْبًا إِلاَّ كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ أَوْ كَلْبَ صَائِدٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِمْ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ

"The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for herding livestock or a dog for hunting, one Qirat will be deducted from his reward each day." 'Abdullah said: "Abu Hurairah said: 'Or a dog for farming.'"

Malik related to me from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever acquires a dog other than a sheepdog or hunting dog, will have two qirats deducted from the reward of his good actions every day."

He who kept a dog would lose out of his deeds equal to one qirat every day. except (one kept) for watching the field or herd. (Using translation from Muslim 1575c)
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَمْسَكَ كَلْبًا نَقَصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ إِلَّا كَلْبَ حَرْثٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ أَنَّ هَذَا الْعَدَدَ الْمَذْكُورَ فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ قَدْ يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَجْرِ مُمْسِكِ الْكَلْبِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever owns a dog, except for a hunting dog or a herding dog, will have two qirats of his reward deducted every day."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ ضَارِيَةٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ فَإِنَّهُ يَنْقُصُ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ قِيرَاطَانِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ»
ذِكْرُ مَا يَنْقُصُ مِنْ عَمَلِ الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِ بِإِمْسَاكِهِ الْكَلْبَ عَبَثًا
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Whoever keeps a dog, one Qirat will be deducted from him (good) deeds every day, except a dog for farming or herding livestock.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3204)
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَمْسَكَ كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ حَرْثٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ اسْتِثْنَاءِ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ كَلْبَ الْحَرْثِ وَالْمَاشِيَةِ مِنْ بَيْنِ عُمُومِ الْإِمْسَاكِ لَمْ يُرِدْ بِهِ النَّفْيَ عَمَّا وَرَاءَهُ
[AI] The translation in English is: "The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, 'No people who take a dog not meant for hunting, farming, or herding, as a pet, will have their rewards decreased by a Qirat every day.'"
نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَيُّمَا قَوْمٍ اتَّخَذُوا كَلْبًا لَيْسَ بِكَلْبِ صَيْدٍ أَوْ زَرْعٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever owns a dog, except for a dog used for herding livestock or hunting, will have two qirats deducted from his good deeds every day."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ أَوْ صَيْدٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ»
