Abu Hurayra said, "I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, 'While a shepherd was tending to his sheep, a wolf came and snatched one of the sheep. The shepherd went after the wolf which turned to him and said, 'Who will look after them on the 'Day of Wild Beasts'? They will have no shepherd but me.' People said, 'Glory be to Allah!' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I believe it - I, Abu Bakr and 'Umar.'"

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ بَيْنَمَا رَاعٍ فِي غَنَمِهِ عَدَا عَلَيْهِ الذِّئْبُ فَأَخَذَ مِنْهُ شَاةً فَطَلَبَهُ الرَّاعِي فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ الذِّئْبُ فَقَالَ مَنْ لَهَا يَوْمَ السَّبُعِ؟ لَيْسَ لَهَا رَاعٍ غَيْرِي فَقَالَ النَّاسُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَإِنِّي أُؤْمِنُ بِذَلِكَ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "While a man was riding a cow, it turned towards him and said, 'I have not been created for this purpose (i.e. carrying), I have been created for ploughing." The Prophet ﷺ added, "I, Abu Bakr and ʿUmar believe in the story." The Prophet ﷺ went on, "A wolf caught a sheep, and when the shepherd chased it, the wolf said, 'Who will be its guard on the day of wild beasts, when there will be no shepherd for it except me?' "After narrating it, the Prophet ﷺ said, "I, Abu Bakr and ʿUmar too believe it." Abu Salama (a sub-narrator) said, "Abu Bakr and ʿUmar were not present then."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ رَاكِبٌ عَلَى بَقَرَةٍ الْتَفَتَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ لَمْ أُخْلَقْ لِهَذَا خُلِقْتُ لِلْحِرَاثَةِ قَالَ آمَنْتُ بِهِ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَأَخَذَ الذِّئْبُ شَاةً فَتَبِعَهَا الرَّاعِي فَقَالَ الذِّئْبُ مَنْ لَهَا يَوْمَ السَّبُعِ يَوْمَ لاَ رَاعِيَ لَهَا غَيْرِي قَالَ آمَنْتُ بِهِ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ مَا هُمَا يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي الْقَوْمِ

Once Messenger of Allah ﷺ; offered the morning prayer and then faced the people and said, "While a man was driving a cow, he suddenly rode over it and beat it. The cow said, "We have not been created for this, but we have been created for sloughing." On that the people said astonishingly, "Glorified be Allah! A cow speaks!" The Prophet ﷺ said, "I believe this, and Abu Bakr and ʿUmar too, believe it, although neither of them was present there. While a person was amongst his sheep, a wolf attacked and took one of the sheep. The man chased the wolf till he saved it from the wolf, where upon the wolf said, 'You have saved it from me; but who will guard it on the day of the wild beasts when there will be no shepherd to guard them except me (because of riots and afflictions)? ' " The people said surprisingly, "Glorified be Allah! A wolf speaks!" The Prophet ﷺ said, "But I believe this, and Abu Bakr and ʿUmar too, believe this, although neither of them was present there." صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلاَةَ الصُّبْحِ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ بَيْنَا رَجُلٌ يَسُوقُ بَقَرَةً إِذْ رَكِبَهَا فَضَرَبَهَا فَقَالَتْ إِنَّا لَمْ نُخْلَقْ لِهَذَا إِنَّمَا خُلِقْنَا لِلْحَرْثِ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بَقَرَةٌ تَكَلَّمُ فَقَالَ فَإِنِّي أُومِنُ بِهَذَا أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَمَا هُمَا ثَمَّ وَبَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ فِي غَنَمِهِ إِذْ عَدَا الذِّئْبُ فَذَهَبَ مِنْهَا بِشَاةٍ فَطَلَبَ حَتَّى كَأَنَّهُ اسْتَنْقَذَهَا مِنْهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ الذِّئْبُ هَذَا اسْتَنْقَذْتَهَا مِنِّي فَمَنْ لَهَا يَوْمَ السَّبُعِ يَوْمَ لاَ رَاعِيَ لَهَا غَيْرِي فَقَالَ النَّاسُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ذِئْبٌ يَتَكَلَّمُ قَالَ فَإِنِّي أُومِنُ بِهَذَا أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَمَا هُمَا ثَمَّ وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِمِثْلِهِ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "While a shepherd was amongst his sheep, a wolf attacked them and took away one sheep. When the shepherd chased the wolf, the wolf turned towards him and said, 'Who will be its guard on the day of wild animals when nobody except I will be its shepherd. And while a man was driving a cow with a load on it, it turned towards him and spoke to him saying, 'I have not been created for this purpose, but for ploughing." The people said, "Glorified be Allah." The Prophet said, "But I believe in it and so does Abu Bakr end ʿUmar."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ بَيْنَمَا رَاعٍ فِي غَنَمِهِ عَدَا عَلَيْهِ الذِّئْبُ فَأَخَذَ مِنْهَا شَاةً فَطَلَبَهُ الرَّاعِي فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ الذِّئْبُ فَقَالَ مَنْ لَهَا يَوْمَ السَّبُعِ يَوْمَ لَيْسَ لَهَا رَاعٍ غَيْرِي وَبَيْنَا رَجُلٌ يَسُوقُ بَقَرَةً قَدْ حَمَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَالْتَفَتَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَكَلَّمَتْهُ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي لَمْ أُخْلَقْ لِهَذَا وَلَكِنِّي خُلِقْتُ لِلْحَرْثِ قَالَ النَّاسُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَإِنِّي أُومِنُ بِذَلِكَ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whilst a shepherd was amongst his sheep, a wolf attacked them and took away a sheep. The shepherd chased it and got that sheep freed from the wolf. The wolf turned towards the shepherd and said, 'Who will guard the sheep on the day of wild animals when it will have no shepherd except myself?" The people said, "Glorified be Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "But I believe in it and so do Abu Bakr and ʿUmar although Abu Bakr and ʿUmar were not present there (at the place of the event).

سَمِعْنَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَمَا رَاعٍ فِي غَنَمِهِ عَدَا الذِّئْبُ فَأَخَذَ مِنْهَا شَاةً فَطَلَبَهَا حَتَّى اسْتَنْقَذَهَا فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ الذِّئْبُ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَنْ لَهَا يَوْمَ السَّبُعِ لَيْسَ لَهَا رَاعٍ غَيْرِي فَقَالَ النَّاسُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَإِنِّي أُومِنُ بِهِ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَمَا ثَمَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ

A person had been driving an ox loaded with luggage. The ox looked towards him and said: I have not been created for this but for lands (i. e. for ploughing the land and for drawing out water from the wells for the purpose of irrigating the lands). The people said with surprise and awe: Hallowed be Allah, does the ox speak? Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I believe it and so do Abu Bakr and 'Umar. Abu Huraira reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: A shepherd was tendirig the flock when a wolf came there and took away one goat. Tile shepherd pursued it (the wolf) and rescued it (the goat) from that (wolf). The wolf looked towards him and said: Who would save it on the day when there will be no shepherd except me? Thereupon people said: Hallowed be Allah I Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: I believe in it and so do Abu Bakr and Umar believe.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَسُوقُ بَقَرَةً لَهُ قَدْ حَمَلَ عَلَيْهَا الْتَفَتَتْ إِلَيْهِ الْبَقَرَةُ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي لَمْ أُخْلَقْ لِهَذَا وَلَكِنِّي إِنَّمَا خُلِقْتُ لِلْحَرْثِ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ تَعَجُّبًا وَفَزَعًا أَبَقَرَةٌ تَكَلَّمُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَإِنِّي أُومِنُ بِهِ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَا رَاعٍ فِي غَنَمِهِ عَدَا عَلَيْهِ الذِّئْبُ فَأَخَذَ مِنْهَا شَاةً فَطَلَبَهُ الرَّاعِي حَتَّى اسْتَنْقَذَهَا مِنْهُ فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِ الذِّئْبُ فَقَالَ لَهُ مَنْ لَهَا يَوْمَ السَّبُعِ يَوْمَ لَيْسَ لَهَا رَاعٍ غَيْرِي فَقَالَ النَّاسُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَإِنِّي أُومِنُ بِذَلِكَ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ

[AI] Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed prayer with us, then he turned towards us and said, "Amongst us is a man who was driving his cattle when it struck him. He said, 'Indeed, we were not created for this. We were only created for plowing.' The people said, 'Glory be to Allah! A cow that speaks!' He said, 'Indeed, I believe in this, as do Abu Bakr and Umar, and neither of them.' Then he mentioned a man with his sheep who was attacked by a wolf and it took one of the sheep. He ran after it and caught it and saved it from the wolf. He said, 'O you! You saved it from me. So, who will have it on the Day of Judgement when there will be no shepherd for it except me?' The people said, 'Glory be to Allah! A wolf that speaks!' He said, 'Indeed, I believe in this, as do Abu Bakr and Umar, and neither of them.'"

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "While a man was herding a cow and wanted to ride it, the cow turned to him and said, 'We were not created for this, we were only created for being ploughed.' Amazed, the man said, 'Glory be to Allah!' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I believe in it, and so do Abu Bakr and Umar.' After that, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'While a man was with his sheep and a wolf took one of his sheep, the shepherd followed the wolf and retrieved the sheep. Then he said, 'How will you be on the Day of Judgement, when there will be no one to protect you except me?' Again, the people around him said, 'Glory be to Allah!' And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I believe in it, and so do Abu Bakr and Umar.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَسُوقُ بَقَرَةً فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَبَهَا فَالْتَفَتَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّا لَمْ نُخْلَقْ لِهَذَا إِنَّمَا خُلِقْنَا لِيُحْرَثَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ ﷺ «آمَنْتُ بِهِ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ» وَمَا هُمَا ثَمَّ قَالَ «وَبَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ فِي غَنَمٍ لَهُ فَأَخَذَ الذِّئْبُ الشَّاةَ فَتَبِعَهُ الرَّاعِي فَلَفَظَهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ كَيْفَ لَكَ بِيَوْمِ السِّبَاعِ حَيْثُ لَا يَكُونُ لَهَا رَاعٍ غَيْرِي» فَقَالَ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ ﷺ » آمَنْتُ بِهِ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ « وَمَا هُمَا ثَمَّ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ رَاكِبٌ عَلَى بَقَرَةٍ الْتَفَتَتْ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي لَمْ أُخْلَقْ لِهَذَا إِنَّمَا خُلِقْتُ لِلْحِرَاثَةِ» قَالَ «آمَنْتُ بِهِ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَأَخَذَ الذِّئْبُ شَاةً فَتَبِعَهَا الرَّاعِي فَقَالَ الذِّئْبُ مَنْ لَهَا يَوْمَ السَّبْعِ يَوْمَ لَا رَاعِيَ لَهَا غَيْرِي» فَقَالَ ﷺ «آمَنْتُ بِهِ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ»

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "While a man was driving a cow, it became tired and he rode on it. Then it turned to him and said, 'We were not created for this. We were only created for tilling the land.' People exclaimed, 'Glory be to Allah, glory be to Allah!' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'I believe in this, as well as Abu Bakr and Umar.' But it is not a common belief among the people." People then said, 'We believe in what the Prophet ﷺ believes.'"

عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَسُوقُ بَقَرَةً إِذْ أَعْيَا فَرَكِبَهَا فَالْتَفَتَتْ إِلَيْهِ» فَقَالَتْ إِنَّا لَمْ نُخْلَقْ لِهَذَا إِنَّمَا خُلِقْنَا لِحِرَاثَةِ الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَإِنِّي أُؤْمِنُ بِهَذَا أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ» وَلَيْسَا فِي الْقَوْمِ قَالَ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ آمَنَّا بِمَا آمَنَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ بينما راعي في غنمه عدا عليها الذئب فأخذ منها شاة فطلبه الراعي حتى استنقذها منه فالتفت إليه الذئب فقال فمن لها يوم السبع يوم لا راعي غيري فقال الناس سبحان اللَّهُ!! فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فإني أؤمن بذلك أنا وَأبُو بكر وعمر وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَحْفَظُهُ إلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُقَيل عَن الزُّهْرِيّ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَيْنَا رَجُلٌ يَسُوقُ بَقَرَةً قَدْ حَمَلَ عَلَيْهَا الْتَفَتَتْ إِلَيْهِ الْبَقَرَةُ» فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي لَمْ أُخْلَقْ لِهَذَا وَلَكِنَّنَا خُلِقْنَا لِلْحَرْثِ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ تَعَجُّبًا بَقَرَةٌ تَتَكَلَّمُ» فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَإِنِّي أُؤْمِنُ بِهِ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَيْنَا رَاعٍ فِي غَنَمِهِ عَدَا الذِّئْبُ فَأَخَذَ شَاةً فَطَلَبَهُ الرَّاعِي يَسْتَنْقِذُهَا مِنْهُ فَالْتَفَتَ الذِّئْبُ إِلَيْهِ» فَقَالَ «مَنْ لَهَا يَوْمَ السَّبُعِ؟ يَوْمَ لَيْسَ لَهَا رَاعٍ غَيْرِي» قَالَ النَّاسُ «سُبْحَانَ اللهِ» قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ « فَإِنِّي أُؤْمِنُ بِذَلِكَ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ»

"بَينَمَا رجُلٌ راكِبٌ عَلَى بَقَرَةٍ التَفتَت إِلَيهِ , فقَالتْ: لَمْ أُخلَق لهَذا، خُلِقْتُ لِلحِرَاثَةِ فَقَال النَّبيُّ ﷺ آمَنْتُ بهِ أنَا, وَأَبُو بَكر، وَعُمَرُ".
