[Machine] Suhaib, the companion of the Prophet ﷺ , reported that the Prophet ﷺ said whenever he wanted to enter a town, he would say upon seeing it, "O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and what they overshadow, Lord of the seven earths and what they contain, Lord of the devils and what they lead astray, Lord of the winds and what they scatter. [Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached Khaybar, he said to his companions, "Stop here." Then he said, "O Allah, Lord of the heavens and what they shade, Lord of the earth and what it carries, Lord of the devils and what they misguide, Lord of the winds and what they scatter, I ask You for the goodness of this town and the goodness of its people, and I seek refuge with You from its evil and the evil of its people and the evil that is within it. In the name of Allah, advance." He used to say this upon entering every town.

[Machine] Omar ibn Al-Khattab was listening to the recitation while leading the people in prayer at the Prophet's mosque from the house of Abu Jahm. Ka'ab Al-Ahbar said, "By the One who split the sea for Moses, Suhaib told me that Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, never entered a village except that when he saw it, he would say, 'Oh Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and all that they shade, and Lord of the seven earths and all that they carry, and Lord of the devils and all that they mislead, and Lord of the winds and all that they scatter. Indeed, we ask You for the goodness of this village and the goodness of its people, and seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of its people, and the evil of what is in it.' Ka'ab swore by the One who split the sea for Moses, as it was the supplication of Dawood when he would see the enemy."
