Permission to fight after the expulsion from Mecca
[AI] When the polytheists drove the Prophet ﷺ out of Mecca, Abu Bakr ᴿᴬ said, "They have driven out their Prophet; they will perish." Then this verse was revealed: "Permission has been granted to those who are fought because they were wronged." Abu Bakr said: We do not know anyone who narrated this hadith from al-Thawri except Ishaq al-Azraq, and Qays has also narrated it from al-A'mash, from Muslim, from Said ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas.
