The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is a bad thing that some of you say, 'I have forgotten such-and-such verse of the Qur'an,' for indeed, he has been caused (by Allah) to forget it. So you must keep on reciting the Qur'an because it escapes from the hearts of men faster than camel do."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِئْسَ مَا لأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ نُسِّيَ وَاسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ

What a wretched person is he amongst them who says: I have forgotten such and such a verse. (He should instead of using this expression say): I have been made to forget it. Try to remember the Qur'an for it is more apt to escape from men's minds than a hobbled camel.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِئْسَمَا لأَحَدِهِمْ يَقُولُ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ اسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ بِعُقُلِهَا

Keep refreshing your knowledge of the sacred books (or always renew your knowledge of these sacred books) and sometimes he would mention the Qur'an for it is more apt to escape from men's minds than animals which are hobbled, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: None of you should say: I forgot such and such a verse, but he has been made to forget.

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ تَعَاهَدُوا هَذِهِ الْمَصَاحِفَ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهِ قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ

The Prophet ﷺ said: "It is not right for any one of you to say: 'I have forgotten such and such a verse.' Rather, he has been caused to forget. Study the Qur'an, for it escapes from the heart of man faster than a camel escapes from its fetter. "

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ بِئْسَمَا لأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ اسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ أَسْرَعُ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهِ

that the Prophet ﷺ said: "How horrible it is for one of them - or - one of you to say: "I have forgotten such and such Ayah,' rather he was made to forget. So be mindful of the Qur'an, for - by the One in Whose Hand is my soul - it escapes from men's hearts faster than a camel from its fetter."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ بِئْسَمَا لأَحَدِهِمْ أَوْ لأَحَدِكُمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ فَاسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهِ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ يَرْفَعُهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ تَعَاهَدُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا بِئْسَمَا لِأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ

[Machine] "The Quran is more detailed than the chests of men and more delightful than blessings from one's intellect," He said. And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "None of you should say, 'I have forgotten a verse' when indeed it is forgotten."

الْقُرْآنَ فَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهِ قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ لَا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِنِّي نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Hold fast to this Quran, for it is more eloquent and detailed than the chests of men in relation to their camels, and none of you should say, 'I have forgotten a verse,' instead, it is a case of being made to forget."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «تَعَاهَدُوا هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ وَحْشِيٌّ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا وَلَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Remember the Quran, for it is sharper and more penetrating than the chests of men. How terrible it is for one of you to say, 'I have forgotten an Ayah (verse), but I will not forget a poem or a song.' Rather, he has forgotten."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا وَبِئْسَمَا لِأَحَدِكُمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ مَا نَسِيَ وَلَكِنْ نُسِّيَ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا وَبِئْسَمَا لِأَحَدِكُمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How bad it is for one of you to say, 'I have forgotten such and such a verse,' when in fact he has forgotten the Quran. So, work hard to memorize the Quran, for it is a wild animal that is more difficult to tame than the camel from its hump."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ بِئْسَمَا لِأَحَدِكُمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ تَعَاهَدُوا الْقُرْآنَ؛ فَإِنَّهُ وَحْشِيٌّ وَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Remember the Quran, for it is sharper in penetrating the hearts of men than iron is in piercing their bodies. And how terrible is it for one of you to say, 'I have forgotten a verse!' when indeed it has been forgotten."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ؛ فَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا وَبِئْسَمَا لِأَحَدِكُمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ بِئْسَمَا لَأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ «نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ اسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ أَسْرَعُ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهِ» وَقَفَهُ جَرِيرٌ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ بِئْسَمَا لَأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ اسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ أَسْرَعَ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهِ

[Machine] Abdullah said, "Make a pledge to protect these Qurans, for they are more detailed than the chests of men in their blessings, from their wisdom. And do not say, 'I have forgotten a verse like so and so says.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'No, it was forgotten.'"

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ تَعَاهَدُوا هَذِهِ الْمَصَاحِفَ فَلَهِيَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا وَلَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِنِّي نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ

"بئْسَمَا لأحَدِكُمْ أنْ يَقولَ: نَسيتُ آيةَ كيتَ، وَكيتَ، بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّى، اسْتَذْكِرُوا القرآنَ، فَوَالَّذِى نَفْسِى بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِن النَّعَم مِن عُقُلِهَا".
