[Machine] To descend Al-Abtah and to say, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ only stayed here with Aisha."
أَنْ يَنْزِلَ الْأَبْطَحَ وَيَقُولُ إِنَّمَا أَقَامَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ
the Messenger of Allah returned his daughter to Abul-'As bin Rabi' after two years, on the basis of the first marriage contract. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2009)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَدَّ ابْنَتَهُ زَيْنَبَ عَلَى أَبِي الْعَاصِزَوْجِهَا بِنِكَاحِهَا الْأَوَّلِ بَعْدَ سَنَتَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُحْدِثْ صَدَاقًا
Ibn 'Abbas gave a Khutbah in Al-Basrah and said: "Pay the zakah of your fasting." The people started looking at one another. He said: "Whoever there is here from the people of Al-Madinah, get up and teach your brothers, for they do not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ enjoined sadaqat al-fitr on the young and the old, the free and the slave, the male and the female; half a sa' of wheat or a sa' of dried dates or barley.'" يَا أَهْلَ الْبَصْرَةِ أَدُّوا زَكَاةَ صَوْمِكُمْ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَنْظُرُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى بَعْضٍ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَاهُنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ؟ قُومُوا فَعَلِّمُوا إِخْوَانَكُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَضَ صَدَقَةَ رَمَضَانَ نِصْفَ صَاعٍ مِنْ بُرٍّ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ عَلَى الْعَبْدِ وَالْحُرِّ وَالذَّكَرِ وَالْأُنْثَى
“If the people were given what they claimed, some would have claimed the lives and property of men. But the one the claim is made against is obliged to swear an oath.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2321)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْيَمِينُ عَلَى الْمُدَّعَى عَلَيْهِ وَلَوْ أَنَّ النَّاسَ أُعْطُوا بِدَعْوَاهُمْ لَادَّعَى نَاسٌ أَمْوَالًا كَثِيرَةً وَدِمَاءً
[Machine] A man stood up to Ibn Abbas and said, "The prayer, the prayer!" But Ibn Abbas remained silent. Then the man repeated, "The prayer, the prayer!" Yet again, Ibn Abbas remained silent. Then the man said for the third time, "The prayer, the prayer!" Ibn Abbas responded, "Are you teaching us about the prayer? We used to combine two prayers during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." Mu'adh said, "During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."
قَامَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ الصَّلَاةَ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ الصَّلَاةَ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ الصَّلَاةَ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ تُعْلِمُنَا بِالصَّلَاةِ؟ قَدْ كُنَّا نَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاتَيْنِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَوْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ قَالَ مُعَاذٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ
[Machine] I do not have the name of that prayer for my father Al-Qasim ﷺ .
لَا أُمَّ لَكَ تِلْكَ صَلَاةُ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ
[Machine] He told him that the Prophet ﷺ was brought a grilled shoulder, and he ate from it until he was full, then he prayed without performing ablution from it.
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِكَتِفٍ مَشْوِيَّةٍ فَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا فَتَمَلَّى ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَمَا تَوَضَّأَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ
[Machine] Then he said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Disperse in groups of two or three."
ثُمَّقَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ انْتَثِرُوا ثِنْتَيْنِ بَالِغَتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give the woman and the slave from the spoils of war without what the army receives.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُعْطِي الْمَرْأَةَ وَالْمَمْلُوكَ مِنَ الْمَغْنَمِ دُونَ مَا يُصِيبُ الْجَيْشُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Any Muslim who visits his brother without reaching his appointed time, then he requests Allah, the Great, Lord of the Great Throne, to cure so-and-so of his pain, Allah Almighty will surely cure him of it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَادَ أَخَاهُ فَيَدْخُلَ عَلَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَحْضُرْ أَجَلُهُ فَقَالَ أَسْأَلُ اللهَ الْعَظِيمَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ أَنْ يَشْفِيَ فُلَانًا مِنْ وَجَعِهِ سَبْعًا إِلَّا شَفَاهُ اللهُ ﷻ مِنْهُ
[Machine] Regarding the killing of infants and whether women used to participate in war with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , and whether he used to strike them with an arrow, Yazid ibn Hurmuz said, "I wrote a letter from Ibn Abbas to Najda, and he replied to me. You ask me about the killing of infants and say that the scholar, the companion of Moses, killed a boy. If you knew about infants what that scholar knew, you would have killed them. But you do not know, so avoid killing them, for indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited killing them. You also asked me about women. Did they used to participate in war with the Prophet ﷺ and whether he used to strike them with an arrow? Women used to indeed participate with the Prophet ﷺ . As for striking them with an arrow, he did not do so, and he used to be lenient with them."
عَنْ قَتْلِ الْوِلْدَانِ وَهَلْ كُنَّ النِّسَاءُ يَحْضُرْنَ الْحَرْبَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ؟ وَهَلْ كَانَ يَضْرِبُ لَهُنَّ بِسَهْمٍ؟ قَالَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هُرْمُزَ وَأَنَا كَتَبْتُ كِتَابَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِلَى نَجْدَةَ كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ كَتَبْتَ تَسْأَلُنِي عَنْ قَتْلِ الْوِلْدَانِ وَتَقُولُ إِنَّ الْعَالِمَ صَاحِبَ مُوسَى قَدْ قَتَلَ الْغُلَامَ فَلَوْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ مِنَ الْوِلْدَانِ مِثْلَ مَا كَانَ يَعْلَمُ ذَلِكَ الْعَالِمُ قَتَلْتَ وَلَكِنَّكَ لَا تَعْلَمُ فَاجْتَنِبْهُمْ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِهِمْ وَكَتَبْتَ تَسْأَلُنِي عَنِ النِّسَاءِ هَلْ كُنَّ يَحْضُرْنَ الْحَرْبَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ؟ وَهَلْ كَانَ يَضْرِبُ لَهُنَّ بِسَهْمٍ؟ وَقَدْ كُنَّ يَحْضُرْنَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأَمَّا أَنْ يَضْرِبَ لَهُنَّ بِسَهْمٍ فَلَمْ يَفْعَلْ وَقَدْ كَانَ يَرْضَخُ لَهُنَّ
He heard Ibn 'Umar and Ibn 'Abbas testify that the Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade Ad-Dubba' (gourds), Al-Hantam, Al-Muzaffat, and An-Naqir. Then the Messenger of Allah [SAW] recited this Verse: "And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it)." عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُمَا شَهِدَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَالنَّقِيرِ ثُمَّ تَلَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ {وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا} [الحشر 7]
[Machine] "On the night I stayed at my aunt Ma'muna bint Al-Harith's place, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the night prayer (Isha') then returned to her. It was her night (i.e. his turn to spend the night with her). He performed two Rak'ahs (units of prayer) and then laid down and said, 'Does the young boy sleep while I am still able to hear him?' I replied, 'Yes.' He then said, 'I heard him say in his prayer, "O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light on my tongue, and make for me light upon light."' "
بِتُّ عِنْدَ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْعِشَاءَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهَا وَكَانَتْ لَيْلَتَهَا فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ انْفَتَلَ فَقَالَ أَنَامَ الْغُلَامُ؟ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُهُ قَالَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ قَالَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا وَفِي سَمْعِي نُورًا وَفِي بَصَرِي نُورًا وَفِيلِسَانِي نُورًا وَأَعْظِمْ لِي نُورًا
[Machine] She has the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to condition with you at the place where you confined me, as indeed that is for you.
لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اشْتَرِطِي عِنْدَ إِحْرَامِكِ مَحِلِّي حَيْثُ حَبَسْتَنِي فَإِنَّ ذَلِكِ لَكِ
[Machine] Al-Aqra Ibn Habis asked the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah, is Hajj to be performed once or every year?" He replied, "No, rather it is to be performed once. And whoever performs it more than once, it is considered voluntary."
سَأَلَ الْأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَرَّةً الْحَجُّ أَوْ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ؟ قَالَ لَا بَلْ مَرَّةً فَمَنْ زَادَ فَتَطَوُّعٌ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him with his family to Mina on the Night of Sacrifice, and we stoned the Jamrah with the dawn.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ مَعَ أَهْلِهِ إِلَى مِنًى لَيْلَةَ النَّحْرِ فَرَمَيْنَا الْجَمْرَةَ مَعَ الْفَجْرِ
[Machine] Ibn Abbas said, "This is how a dog stretches." I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he prostrated, I saw the whiteness of his armpits.
ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ هَكَذَا يَرْبِضُ الْكَلْبُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَجَدَ رَأَيْتُ بَيَاضَ إِبْطَيْهِ
[Machine] "I came with al-Fadl riding on a donkey, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was leading the people in prayer. Al-Khayyat (the tailor), meaning Hammad, was standing in an open space of land. We passed in front of him while we were on it (the donkey), until we passed the majority of the row. He did not stop us or push us back."
جِئْتُ أَنَا وَالْفَضْلُ عَلَى حِمَارٍ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ قَالَ الْخَيَّاطُ يَعْنِي حَمَّادًا فِي فَضَاءٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَمَرَرْنَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَنَحْنُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى جَاوَزْنَا عَامَّةَ الصَّفِّ فَمَا نَهَانَا وَلَا رَدَّنَا
[Machine] He said, "O Abu Abbas, what is this garment that you are wearing?" He replied, "What is it?" He said, "It is Istibraq." He said, "By Allah, I did not know about it, and I do not think that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade it except for showing off and arrogance. And we are not like that, praise be to Allah." He said, "So what is this canon with images on it?" Ibn Abbas said, "Don't you see how we burned it with fire?"
لَهُ يَا أَبَا عَبَّاسٍ مَا هَذَا الثَّوْبُ الَّذِي عَلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ وَمَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ إِسْتَبْرَقٌ قَالَ وَاللهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ بِهِ وَمَا أَظُنُّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْهُ إِلَّا لِلتَّجَبُّرِ وَالتَّكَبُّرِ وَلَسْنَا بِحَمْدِ اللهِ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ فَمَا هَذَا الْكَانُونُ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ الصُّوَرُ؟ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَلَا تَرَى كَيْفَ أَحْرَقْنَاهَا بِالنَّارِ؟
[Machine] The name of Juwayriyah bint al-Haritharah was changed by the Prophet ﷺ and he named her Juwayriyah. The Prophet ﷺ passed by her while she was in her prayer chamber glorifying and supplicating to Allah. He then went to fulfill his need and returned to her after the day had passed. He said, "O Juwayriyah, are you still in your place?" She replied, "I am still in my place." The Prophet ﷺ said, "I have uttered four phrases that I have repeated three times, and they are better than what you have said. They are: 'Subhan Allah, the number of His creation; Subhan Allah, to satisfy His own self; Subhan Allah, the weight of His Throne; and Subhan Allah, the extent of His Words.' And all praise is due to Allah, similar to that."
كَانَ اسْمُ جُوَيْرِيَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ بَرَّةَ فَحَوَّلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ اسْمَهَا فَسَمَّاهَا جُوَيْرِيَةَ فَمَرَّ بِهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَإِذَا هِيَ فِي مُصَلَّاهَا تُسَبِّحُ اللهَ وَتَدْعُوهُ فَانْطَلَقَ لِحَاجَتِهِ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهَا بَعْدَ مَا ارْتَفَعَ النَّهَارُ فَقَالَ يَا جُوَيْرِيَةُ مَا زِلْتِ فِي مَكَانِكِ؟ قَالَتْ مَا زِلْتُ فِي مَكَانِي هَذَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَقَدْ تَكَلَّمْتُ بِأَرْبَعِ كَلِمَاتٍ أَعُدُّهُنَّ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ هُنَّ أَفْضَلُ مِمَّا قُلْتِ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ رِضَاءَ نَفْسِهِ وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ زِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَسُبْحَانَ اللهِ مِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ
[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ descended from Arafah, he ordered the people to sit down, and then the Prophet ﷺ called out, "O people, righteousness is not in the abandonment of horses and rideables. I have not seen them raising their hands except normally."
لَمَّا أَفَاضَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ عَرَفَاتٍ أَوْضَعَ النَّاسُ فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مُنَادِيًا فَنَادَى يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِإِيضَاعِ الْخَيْلِ وَالرِّكَابِ فَمَا رَأَيْتُهَا رَافِعَةً يَدَهَا عَادِيَةً
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "How did you deceive him, O Abu Al-Yasar?" He said, "A man helped me with him, whom I had never seen before, neither his appearance nor knew his identity." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, a noble angel helped you with him." Then he said to Abbas, "O Abbas, save yourself and your nephew Aqeel bin Abi Talib, along with Nawfal bin Al-Harith and your ally Uthbah bin Jahdam, one of the sons of Al-Harith bin Fihr." Abbas refused and said, "I was already a Muslim before this incident. They forced me to do this." Allah knows your situation better. If what you claim is true, then Allah will reward you for it. As for the apparent matter, it was up to us. Save yourself." The Prophet ﷺ had already taken twenty ounces of gold from him, so Abbas said, "O Messenger of Allah, consider it as ransom for me." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "No, that is something Allah has given to us from you." Abbas said, "But I have no money." The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Where is the money that you left in Makkah when you left Um Al-Fadl's house? There is no one else with you except the two of you." Abbas then said, "If anything happens to me during my journey, it is for Al-Fadl like this, and for Qutham like this, and for Abdullah like this." Abbas added, "By the One who sent you with the truth, no one knows about this except me, you, and her. And I do know that you are the Messenger of Allah."
لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَيْفَ أَسَرْتَهُ يَا أَبَا الْيَسَرِ؟ قَالَ لَقَدْ أَعَانَنِي عَلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ مَا رَأَيْتُهُ بَعْدُ وَلَا قَبْلُ هَيْئَتُهُ كَذَا هَيْئَتُهُ كَذَا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَقَدْ أَعَانَكَ عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ كَرِيمٌ وَقَالَ لِلْعَبَّاسِ يَا عَبَّاسُ افْدِ نَفْسَكَ وَابْنَ أَخِيكَ عَقِيلَ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَنَوْفَلَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ وَحَلِيفَكَ عُتْبَةَ بْنَ جَحْدَمٍ أَحَدُ بَنِي الْحَارِثِ بْنِ فِهْرٍ قَالَ فَأَبَى وَقَالَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مُسْلِمًا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ وَإِنَّمَا اسْتَكْرَهُونِي قَالَ اللهُ أَعْلَمُ بِشَأْنِكَ إِنْ يَكُ مَا تَدَّعِي حَقًّا فَاللهُيَجْزِيكَ بِذَلِكَ وَأَمَّا ظَاهِرُ أَمْرِكَ فَقَدْ كَانَ عَلَيْنَا فَافْدِ نَفْسَكَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَخَذَ مِنْهُ عِشْرِينَ أُوقِيَّةَ ذَهَبٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ احْسُبْهَا لِي مِنْ فِدَايَ قَالَ لَا ذَاكَ شَيْءٌ أَعْطَانَاهُ اللهُ مِنْكَ قَالَ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي مَالٌ قَالَ فَأَيْنَ الْمَالُ الَّذِي وَضَعْتَهُ بِمَكَّةَ حَيْثُ خَرَجْتَ عِنْدَ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ وَلَيْسَ مَعَكُمَا أَحَدٌ غَيْرَكُمَا فَقُلْتَ إِنْ أُصِبْتُ فِي سَفَرِي هَذَا فَلِلْفَضْلِ كَذَا وَلِقُثَمَ كَذَا وَلِعَبْدِ اللهِ كَذَا؟ قَالَ فَوَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا عَلِمَ بِهَذَا أَحَدٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ غَيْرِي وَغَيْرُهَا وَإِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ
[Machine] "Men shaved their heads on the day of Hudaybiyyah, while others trimmed their hair. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'May Allah have mercy on those who shaved.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what about those who trimmed?' He said, 'May Allah have mercy on those who shaved.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what about those who trimmed?' He said, 'May Allah have mercy on those who shaved.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what about those who trimmed?' He said, 'And those who trimmed.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, why is it that mercy is apparent for those who shaved?' He said, 'Because they did not express any doubt.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned away."
حَلَقَ رِجَالٌ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَقَصَّرَ آخَرُونَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالُوا فَمَا بَالُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ظَاهَرْتَ لَهُمُ الرَّحْمَةَ؟ قَالَ لَمْ يَشُكُّوا قَالَ فَانْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
The Prophet ﷺ ate of the meat of a shoulder (by cutting the meat with his teeth), and then got up and offered the prayer without performing the ablution anew. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5404)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَعَرَّقَ كَتِفًا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ
[Machine] To forbid a man from wearing a dyed garment with saffron that has been washed, but does not have any stains or spots on it.
أَنْ يُحْرِمَ الرَّجُلُ فِي ثَوْبٍ مَصْبُوغٍ بِزَعْفَرَانٍ قَدْ غُسِلَ لَيْسَ فِيهِ نَفْضٌ وَلَا رَدْعٌ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ
[Machine] The Prophet (PBUH) used to like on the day of Eid to take out his family. He said, "So we went out and he prayed without Adhan or Iqamah, then he addressed the men. Then he came to the women and gave a sermon to them. Then he commanded them to give charity. I saw a woman giving away her earrings and ring to Bilal to give charity with them."
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُعْجِبُهُ فِي يَوْمِ الْعِيدِ أَنْ يُخْرِجَ أَهْلَهُ قَالَ فَخَرَجْنَا فَصَلَّى بِغَيْرِ أَذَانٍ وَلَا إِقَامَةٍ ثُمَّ خَطَبَ الرِّجَالَ ثُمَّ أَتَى النِّسَاءَ فَخَطَبَهُنَّ ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُنَّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ الْمَرْأَةَتُلْقِي تُومَتَهَا وَخَاتَمَهَا تُعْطِيهِ بِلَالًا يَتَصَدَّقُ بِهِ
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ who said, "The best day on which you should have cupping done is on the 17th, 19th, and 21st of the lunar month." He also said, "Whenever I passed by a gathering of angels on the night of my ascension (Isra), they would say to me, 'O Muhammad, you should have cupping done.'"
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ تَحْتَجِمُونَ فِيهِ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ وَتِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ وَإِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ وَقَالَ وَمَا مَرَرْتُ بِمَلَإٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِي إِلَّا قَالُوا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحِجَامَةِ يَا مُحَمَّدُ
[Machine] We were traveling with the Prophet ﷺ between Makkah and Madinah, and we were safe, not afraid of anything. So, he prayed two units of prayer.
سِرْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ وَنَحْنُ آمِنُونَ لَا نَخَافُ شَيْئًا فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to have kohl (eyeliner) with which he would apply three times to each eye before going to sleep.
كَانَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مُكْحُلَةٌ يَكْتَحِلُ بِهَا عِنْدَ النَّوْمِ ثَلَاثًا فِي كُلِّ عَيْنٍ
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allahﷺ married Maymuna bint al-Harith secretly while he was in a state of Ihram (pilgrim sanctity), and then he consummated the marriage with her after returning from Ihram.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ بِسَرِفَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ بِهَا بَعْدَمَا رَجَعَ بِسَرِفَ
[Machine] Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ used to apply kohl every night before sleeping, and he used to apply it in each eye three times.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَكْتَحِلُ بِالْإِثْمِدِ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَكَانَ يَكْتَحِلُ فِي كُلِّ عَيْنٍ ثَلَاثَةَ أَمْيَالٍ
[Machine] "They are the ones who migrated with the Prophet ﷺ from Mecca to Medina."
هُمُ الَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Gabriel visited me twice by the door of the house. Then he said, 'O Muhammad, this is your time and the time of the prophets before you. Offer the Dhuhr prayer when the shadow becomes equal to the length of a short stick (i.e., at midday) and offer the Maghrib prayer when the fasting person breaks his fast and the food and drink are placed before him.'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَّنِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ هَذَا وَقْتُكَ وَوَقْتُ النَّبِيِّينَ قَبْلَكَ صَلَّى بِهِ الظُّهْرَ حِينَ كَانَ الْفَيْءُ بِقَدْرِ الشِّرَاكِ وَصَلَّى بِهِ الْمَغْرِبَ حِينَ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ وَحَلَّ الطَّعَامُ وَالشَّرَابُ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ combined the noon and afternoon prayers, and the sunset and night prayers at Medina without any danger and rain. He was asked: What did he intend by it ? He replied: He intended that his community might not fall into hardship. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1211)
جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ غَيْرِ خَوْفٍ وَلَا مَطَرٍ قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ لِمَ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ كَيْ لَا يُحْرِجَ أُمَّتَهُ
[Machine] "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up at night and performed ablution. He said, 'I stood up and performed ablution. Then, I stood behind him or to his left, and he turned me until he made me stand to his right.'"
فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَتَوَضَّأَ قَالَ فَقُمْتُ فَتَوَضَّأْتُ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى فَقُمْتُ خَلْفَهُ أَوْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ فَأَدَارَنِي حَتَّى أَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ used to recite on Friday morning the verses of Surah As-Sajdah and Has there come to the human being any period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? Abdur Rahman mentioned this in his hadith concerning Friday and the hypocrites.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْفَجْرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ بألم تَنْزِيلُ السَّجْدَةَ وَهَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ وَفِي الْجُمُعَةِ بِالْجُمُعَةِ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the morning prayer on Friday Surah Tanzil al-Sajdah (xxxii.) and Surah al-Dahr(lxxi.). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1074)
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِي الْفَجْرِ ألم تَنْزِيلُ السَّجْدَةَ وَهَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الْإِنْسَانِ حِينٌ مِنَ الدَّهْرِ
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed in a cloak that shielded him from the extreme heat and cold of the earth.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى فِي كِسَاءٍ يَتَّقِي بِفُضُولِهِ حَرَّ الْأَرْضِ وَبَرْدَهَا
[Machine] I contemplated the Prophet ﷺ when he prostrated, and it was visible that the whiteness of his armpits appeared when he prostrated.
تَدَبَّرْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ حِينَ سَجَدَ وَكَانَ يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ إِذَا سَجَدَ
[Machine] The prayer was being performed and I had not performed the two units of prayer. So he (the Prophet Muhammad) saw me praying them and he said, "Are you intending to pray four units for Fajr (dawn prayer)?" It was said to Ibn Abbas about the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Yes."
أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَلَمْ أُصَلِّ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ فَرَآنِي وَأَنَا أُصَلِّيهِمَا فَمَدَّنى وَقَالَ أَتُرِيدُ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ الصُّبْحَ أَرْبَعًا؟ فَقِيلَ لِابْنِعَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ took from the recitation, in terms of where Abu Bakr reached.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ حِينَ جَاءَ أَخَذَ مِنَ الْقِرَاءَةِ مِنْ حَيْثُ كَانَ بَلَغَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ
“One of the chiefs* sent me to Ibn ‘Abbas to ask him about the prayer for rain. Ibn ‘Abbas said: ‘What kept him from asking me?’ He said: ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out humbly, walking with a humble and moderate gait, imploring, and he performed two Rak’ah as he used to pray for ‘Eid, but he did not give a sermon like this sermon of yours.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1266)
أَنْ يَسْأَلَنِي؟ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مُتَوَاضِعًا مُتَبَذِّلًا مُتَخَشِّعًا مُتَرَسِّلًا مُتَضَرِّعًا فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ كَمَا يُصَلِّي فِي الْعِيدِ لَمْ يَخْطُبْ خُطَبَكُمْ هَذِهِ
Allah, the Exalted, prescribed prayer for you, through the tongue of your Prophet ﷺ, four rak'ahs while resident, two rak'ahs while travelling and one rak'ah in time of danger. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1247)
فَرَضَ اللهُ ﷻ صَلَاةَ الْحَضَرِ أَرْبَعًا وَفِي السَّفَرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَالْخَوْفِ رَكْعَةً عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّهِ ﷺ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on the day of Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha and performed two units of prayer with the people. Then he left without praying before or after it.
خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ عِيدِ فِطْرٍ أَوْ أَضْحًى وَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ لَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَها وَلَا بَعْدَها
[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ traveled from Makkah and Madinah, fearing none but Allah, and shortened the prayer.
سَافَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ لَا يَخَافُ إِلَّا اللهَ يَقْصُرُ الصَّلَاةَ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no Hijra (i.e. migration) (from Mecca to Medina) after the Conquest (of Mecca), but Jihad and good intention remain; and if you are called (by the Muslim ruler) for fighting, go forth immediately. (Using translation from Bukhārī 2783)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ الْفَتْحِ وَلَكِنْ جِهَادٌ وَنِيَّةٌ وَإِذَا اسْتُنْفِرْتُمْ فَانْفِرُوا
[Machine] On Thursday, I looked at his tears on his cheeks, flowing as if they were pearl droplets. He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Bring me the board and inkwell, or the shoulder. I will write for you a book that will never lead you astray.'" They said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is leaving us!"
يَوْمُ الْخَمِيسِ وَمَا يَوْمُ الْخَمِيسِ ثُمَّ نَظَرْتُ إِلَى دُمُوعِهِ عَلَى خَدَّيْهِ تَحْدُرُ كَأَنَّهَا نِظَامُ اللُّؤْلُؤِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ائْتُونِي بِاللَّوْحِ وَالدَّوَاةِ أَوِ الْكَتِفِ أَكْتُبْ لَكُمْ كِتَابًا لَا تَضِلُّوا بَعْدَهُ أَبَدًا فَقَالُوا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَهْجُرُ!
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to cast lots for him in a container."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُنْبَذُ لَهُ فِي سِقَاءٍ
