[Machine] From the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, it is narrated that whoever wakes up in the morning while in a state of sexual impurity should not fast that day. He sent someone to ask Aisha about this matter. She went with him and he asked her. She said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of sexual impurity without having had a wet dream, and then he would fast. He returned to Marwan and narrated this to him. Marwan then said, "Ask Abu Huraira about it." So he asked Abu Huraira, who replied, "Indeed, it is a habit of his, and I dislike meeting him in a way that he dislikes. But if I am determined, I will go and meet him." He met the Prophet and said, "O Abu Huraira, by Allah, I dislike meeting you in a way that you dislike. But the ruler has ordered me to do so." He narrated this to him and he said, "Al-Fadl narrated it to me."

We felt shy, so we stood up before asking her. Then we walked, I don't know for how long, and then we said: "We came to ask her about something, and then we will leave before asking her." So, we returned and said: "O Mother of the Believers, we came to ask you about something, but we felt shy, so we stood up." She asked: "What is it?" We said: "Did the Prophet, ﷺ , have sexual intercourse while fasting?" She said: "Yes, indeed he used to do that, but he had more self-control than you."

I asked: How did he do when he was standing? And how did he do when he was sitting? She said: When he recited while standing, he would perform the prostration while standing, and when he recited while sitting, he would perform the prostration while sitting, and he would perform two units before the dawn prayer.

ahmad:25820Ismāʿīl > Dāwud > al-Shaʿbī

[Machine] Aisha said to Ibn Abi Al-Sa'ib, a storyteller from the people of Al-Madinah: I will mention three stories and you follow along with me, or I will make you suffer through it. He responded, "No, rather I will follow you, O mother of the believers." She then said, "Avoid rhymed supplication, as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions did not engage in it." Isma'il once recounted a story, so she said, "I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions, and they did not do that." Narrate to the people one story every Friday, or two if you refuse, or three if you still refuse. This way, people will not become bored with this book, and I will guarantee that you come to a group while they are discussing one of their stories, and then you interrupt their conversation. Instead, leave them be, and when they approach you and insist on it, then speak to them.

أحمد:٢٥٨٢٠حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ قَالَتْ

Aisha said, "O Messenger of Allah, is it because one hates death?" He replied, "No, it is not that. But when a believing servant’s soul is taken by Allah, Allah eases for him what is before his death from His reward and blessings, so he dies while he loves to meet Allah and Allah loves to meet him. As for the disbeliever and the hypocrite, when Allah decrees their death, Allah increases their suffering and humiliation, so they die while hating to meet Allah and Allah hates to meet them."

We raised our voices in talbiyah for Hajj. When we reached Sarif, I menstruated. The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) came upon me while I was weeping. He asked, why are your weeping, Ai’shah? I replied, I menstruated. Would that I had not come out for performing Hajj. He said : Glory be to Allah, this is a thing prescribed by Allah on the daughters of Adam. He said perform all the rites of Hajj but do not go round the House (the Ka’bah). When we entered Makkah, the Messenger of Allah (SWAS) said he who desires to make (his Hajj) an ʿUmrah may do so, except those who have sacrificial animals with them. The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) sacrificed a cow on behalf of his wives on the day of sacrifice. When the night of al-Batha came, and Ai’shah was purified she said to the Messenger of Allah (SWAS) my fellow female pilgrims will return after performing Hajj and ʿUmrah and I shall return after performing only Hajj? He therefore, ordered ʿAbd al-Rahman bin Abu Bakr who took her to al-Ta’nim. She uttered there talbiyah for ʿUmrah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1782)

[Machine] I went with a companion of mine to Aisha, so we sought her permission. She threw pillows for us and pulled the curtain towards her. My companion said, "O Mother of the Believers, what do you say about al-'Irak (a type of bed)?" She replied, "What is al-'Irak?" He hit my shoulder and said, "Did you hurt your brother?" Then she asked, "What is al-'Irak? Al-Mahid (menstruation) is what Allah has mentioned." Then she said, "The Messenger of Allah used to put his head near me and I would be menstruating, and there would be a garment between me and him. Then she said, "The Messenger of Allah, when passing by my door, used to toss a word at me, which Allah would benefit me with. One day, he passed by and didn't say anything. Then he passed by again and didn't say anything. This happened two or three times. I said, 'O my neighbor, put a pillow on the door.' I put my head out and he said, 'O Aisha, what is your concern?' I said, 'I have a headache.' He said, 'Both my hands and your hands used to be used for inspirations.' Then, he left and was not gone long until he was brought back in a blanket. He entered and sent word to the women and said, 'Indeed, I have complained and I am unable to do my rounds amongst you. Allow me to stay with Aisha.' So, I stayed by him and washed him, and I didn't wash anyone before him. While his head was between my neck and chest, he moved his head towards me and I thought he wanted something from me, so I released my hair, and a cold drop fell on my chest and made my skin stand. I thought he was affected by that, so I wiped my garment over it. Then Umar and Mugheerah ibn Shu'bah sought permission and I gave them permission, and I drew the curtain towards me. Umar looked at him and said, 'And you are deceiving him. How shocking it is that Muhammad, Messenger of Allah, is deceived.' Then they stood up, and as they were approaching the door, Mugheerah said to 'Umar, 'O 'Umar, the Messenger of Allah has died.' 'Umar said, 'You are lying. Rather, you are a man seeking Fitnah (tribulation). Indeed, the Messenger of Allah does not die until Allah has destroyed the hypocrites.' Then, Abu Bakr entered, and I lifted the curtain and he looked at him. He said, 'Indeed, to Allah we belong, and indeed to Him we shall return. The Messenger of Allah has died.' Then, he approached from the side of his head and kissed his forehead. Then, he said, 'And his Prophet' Then he raised his head, kissed his forehead again, and said, 'And his kin.' After that, he raised his head, kissed his forehead once more and said, 'And his close friend.' Then he came out to the Masjid, and 'Umar was addressing the people, speaking and saying, 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah does not die until Allah has destroyed the hypocrites.' Then Abu Bakr spoke, praised Allah, and said, "Verily, Allah says, 'Verily, you will die, and verily, they (too) will die' (Az-Zumar: 30).' Until he finished the Ayah, ' Muhammad is no more than a Messenger. Many were the Messengers that passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)?' (Al Imran: 144)." Until he finished the Ayah, 'Then whoever worships Allah and his Muhammad, then Muhammad has surely died.' 'Umar said, 'Indeed, it is in the Book of Allah. I didn't realize that it was in the Book of Allah.' Then 'Umar said, 'O people, this is Abu Bakr, who is the older one amongst you, and he has grey hair on his temples. "Aishah said: 'Shall I not tell you about me and about the Prophet?' We said: 'Yes.' She said: 'When it was my night when he was with me' - meaning the Prophet -'He came back (from 'Isha' prayer), put his sandals by his feet and spread the edge of his Izar on his bed. He stayed until he thought that I had gone to sleep. Then he put his sandals on slowly, picked up his cloak slowly, then opened the door slowly and went out slowly. I covered my head, put on my vie and tightened my waist wrapper, then I followed his steps until he came to Al-Baqi'. He raised his hands three times, and stood there for a long time, then he left and I left. He hastened and I also hastened; he ran and I also ran. He came (to the house) and I also came, but I got there first and entered, and as I lay down he came in. He said: "Tell me, or the Subtle, the All-Aware will tell me.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransomed for you,' and I told him (the whole story). He said: 'So you were the black shape that I saw in front of me?' I said, 'Yes.' He gave me a nudge on the chest which I felt, then he said: 'Did you think that Allah and His Messenger would deal unjustly with you?' I said: 'Whatever the people conceal, Allah knows it.' He said: Jibril came to me when I saw you, but he did not enter upon me because you where not fully dressed. He called me but he concealed that from you, and I answered him, but I concealed that from you too. I thought that you had gone to sleep and I did not want to wake you up, and I was afraid that you would be frightened. He told me to go to Al-Baqi' and pray for forgiveness for them.' I said: 'What should I say, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Say" Peace be upon the inhabitants of this place among the believers and Muslims. May Allah have mercy upon those who have gone on ahead of us and those who come later on, and we will join you, if Allah wills."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2037)

[Machine] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Medina, his companions, Abu Bakr, Amr ibn Fuhayrah, the freed slave of Abu Bakr, and Bilal complained. Aisha sought permission from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to visit them, and he granted her permission. She asked Abu Bakr, "How are you feeling?" He replied, "Every person wakes up with his family, and death is closer than the strap of his sandal." She then asked Amr, who replied, "I have experienced death even before tasting it. The coward dies a thousand deaths before his actual death." Aisha then asked Bilal, who said, "I wish my hair would find me spending a night in a valley surrounded by hills and abundant water." Then I went to the Messenger of Allah and informed him of their words. He looked at the sky and said, "O Allah, make Medina beloved to us as You made Mecca beloved to us." And he prayed, "Bless us in its measuring and construction, and transfer its disease to Mahya' (a place) called Al-Juhfah, as they claimed."

Umm Habiba asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the blood (which flows beyond the period of menstruation). 'A'isha said: I saw her wash-tub full of blood. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Remain away (from prayer) equal (to the length of time) that your menses prevented you. After this (after the period of usual courses) bathe yourself and offer prayer.
