from ʿAbdullāh b. al-Sāʾib b. Yazīd from his father from his grandfather —
[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: "None of you should take the belongings of his companion jokingly or seriously. And if one of you finds the stick of his companion, let him return it to him." And his son, Al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid, met the Prophet ﷺ and narrated this hadith from him. Al-Dhahabi did not mention it in his summary.
الحاكم ٦٦٨٦:
عن عبد الله بن الساءب بن يزيد عن أبيه عن جده —
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَأْخُذَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ مَتَاعَ صَاحِبِهِ لَاعِبًا وَلَا جَادًّا وَإِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَصَا صَاحِبِهِ فَلْيَرُدَّهَا إِلَيْهِ» وَابْنُهُ السَّائِبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَرَوَى عَنْهُ حَدِيثًاسكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
