Messenger of Allah, what about him who would be made to accompany this army willy nilly? Thereupon he said: He would be made to sink along with them but he would be raised on the Day of Resurrection on the basis of his intention. Abu Ja'far said. ' This plain, ground means the plain ground of Medina.

دَخَلَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ، وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ وَأَنَا مَعَهُمَا عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، فَسَأَلَاهَا عَنِ الْجَيْشِ الَّذِي يُخْسَفُ بِهِ، وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي أَيَّامِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: يَعُوذُ عَائِذٌ بِالْبَيْتِ، فَيُبْعَثُ إِلَيْهِ بَعْثٌ، فَإِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ خُسِفَ بِهِمْ. فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ كَانَ كَارِهًا؟ قَالَ: يُخْسَفُ بِهِ مَعَهُمْ، وَلَكِنَّهُ يُبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى نِيَّتِهِ». وَقَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ: هِيَ بَيْدَاءُ الْمَدِينَةِ۔

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "An army will march towards the Ka'bah and when they reach a barren land, it will swallow them. I asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, what about those who were forced to be a part of them?' He replied, 'They will be resurrected according to their intentions.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَغْزُو جَيْشٌ البَيْتَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ خُسِفَ بِهِمْ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ الْمُكْرَهَ مِنْهُمْ؟ قَالَ يُبْعَثُ عَلَى نِيَّتِهِ

'The people will not finish attacking this House until it is attacked by an army which, when they are at Al-Baida', or a Baida' in the land, it will swallow from the first of them to the last of them, and the middle of them shall not be saved.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! What about those among them who are averse to it?' He said: 'Allah will resurrect them upon what was in their souls(intentions)."' [AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "An army will attack the Kaaba until they reach a desert land, and the earth will swallow the first and the last among them." Aisha asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what about those who are not part of them?" He replied, "The earth will swallow the first and the last among them, and then they will be resurrected according to their intentions."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَغْزُو جَيْشٌ الْكَعْبَةَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ خُسِفَ بِأَوَّلِهِمْ وَآخِرِهِمْ» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَفِيهِمْ سِوَاهُمْ وَمَنْ لَيْسَ مِنْهُمْ؟ قَالَ «يُخْسَفُ بِأَوَّلِهِمْ وَآخِرِهِمْ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُونَ عَلَى نِيَّاتِهِمْ»

[AI] I went with Abdullah ibn Safwan and Harith ibn Rabiah until we entered upon Umm Salamah. They said, "O Umm Salamah, will you not tell us about the earthquake that will happen to the people?" She said, "Yes, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'One who seeks refuge in the house will be sent a messenger until they are in the open desert, and then they will be swallowed by it.'" I said, "O Prophet of Allah, what about the one who dislikes it?" He said, "He will be swallowed with them, but he will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment based on what was in his heart." Abdul Aziz said, "So I said to Abu Jafar, she said 'in the open desert,' and he said, 'By Allah, it is indeed the open desert of Madinah.'"

انْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَفْوَانَ وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَقَالُوا يَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أَلَا تُحَدِّثِينَا عَنِ الْخَسْفِ الَّذِي يُخْسَفُ بِالْقَوْمِ؟ قَالَتْ بَلَى قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَعُوذُ عَائِذٌ بِالْبَيْتِ فَيُبْعَثُ إِلَيْهِ بَعْثٌ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ خُسِفَ بِهِمْ» قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ مَنْ كَانَ كَارِهًا؟ قَالَ «يُخْسَفُ مَعَهُمْ وَلَكِنَّهُ يُبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى مَا كَانَ فِي نَفْسِهِ» قَالَ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ إِنَّهَا قَالَتْ بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّهَا لَبَيْدَاءُ الْمَدِينَةِ

[AI] We entered upon Umm Salamah, and she said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'A person in his house asks for protection, and it is sent to him until they are in the desert from the earth squandered." I said, 'O Prophet of Allah, what about someone who dislikes (asking for protection)?' He said, 'He will be squandered along with them, but he will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection according to what was in his heart.'

دَخَلْنَا عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَعُوذُ عَائِذٌ بِالْبَيْتِ فَيُبْعَثُ إِلَيْهِ بَعَثٌ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ خُسِفَتْ بِهِمْ» قُلْتُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ مَنْ كَانَ كَارِهًا قَالَ «يُخْسَفُ بِهِ مَعَهُمْ وَلَكِنَّهُ يُبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى مَا كَانَ فِي نَفْسِهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "An army will wage war against this house until they are in an open plain on the earth and then it will swallow them." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about the innocent ones among them?" He said, "They will be resurrected according to their intentions."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَغْزُو جَيْشٌ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ خُسِفَ بِهِمْ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ الْمُكْرَهُ فقَالَ «يُبْعَثُ عَلَى نِيَّتِهِ»

“People will not stop attacking this House until an army attacks, until when they are in Baida’, the first and the last of them will be swallowed by the earth, and the middle of them will not be saved.’” I said: “What if there are those among them who were forced (to join the army)?” He said: “Allah will resurrect them according to what is in the hearts.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4064)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَنْتَهِي النَّاسُ مِنْ غَزْوِ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ حَتَّى يَغْزُو جَيْشٌ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ خُسِفَ بِأَوَّلِهِمْ وَآخِرِهِمْ وَلَمْ يَنْجُ أَوْسَطُهُمْ» قِيلَ فَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِمْ مَنْ يَكْرَهُهُ؟ قَالَ «يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللهُ عَلَى مَا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ»

"يَعُوذُ عَائِذٌ بِالْبَيْتِ، فَيبعَثُ إِلَيْهِ بَعْثٌ، فَإِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الأَرْضِ خُسِفَ بِهِمْ، قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّه: فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ كَانَ كَارِهًا؟ قَالَ: يُخْسَفُ بِهِ مَعَهُمْ، وَلَكِنَّهُ يُبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَى نِيَّتِهِ".

"يَغْزُو جَيْشٌ الْكَعْبَةَ؛ فَإِذَا كَانُوا بِبَيْدَاءَ مِنَ الأَرْضِ يُخْسَفُ بِأَوَّلِهِمْ وآخِرِهِمْ، ثُمَّ يُبْعَثُونَ عَلَى نِيَّاتِهِمْ".
