"The first thing for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be his Salah. If it is found to be complete then it will be recorded as complete, and if anything is lacking He will say: 'Look and see if you can find any voluntary prayers with which to complete what he neglected of his obligatory prayers.' Then the rest of his deeds will be reckoned in like manner."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ صَلاَتُهُ فَإِنْ وُجِدَتْ تَامَّةً كُتِبَتْ تَامَّةً وَإِنْ كَانَ انْتَقَصَ مِنْهَا شَىْءٌ قَالَ انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لَهُ مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ يُكَمِّلُ لَهُ مَا ضَيَّعَ مِنْ فَرِيضَةٍ مِنْ تَطَوُّعِهِ ثُمَّ سَائِرُ الأَعْمَالِ تَجْرِي عَلَى حَسَبِ ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] On the authority of a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The first thing for which a servant will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment is his prayer. If it is complete, it will be recorded as complete, and if it is not complete, Allah will say: 'See if My servant has any voluntary prayers to complete what is lacking in his obligatory prayers.' After that, the Zakat will be dealt with in the same manner. Then, the other good deeds will be dealt with accordingly."  

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ صَلَاتُهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَتَمَّهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ تَامَّةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَتَمَّهَا قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِي مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ فَتُكْمِلُونَ بِهَا فَرِيضَتَهُ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ كَذَلِكَ ثُمَّ تُؤْخَذُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى حِسَابِ ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] "From the Prophet ﷺ , he said: The first thing for which a servant will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment is prayer. If it was performed perfectly, it will be recorded as complete for him. But if it was not performed perfectly, Allah, the Exalted, will say to the angels: 'See if my servant has any voluntary prayers, so that the deficiency in his obligatory prayers may be compensated for with them.' Then, the next thing that will be reckoned is Zakat (obligatory charity). After that, their other deeds will be taken into account according to the same principle."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الصَّلَاةُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَكْمَلَهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ كَامِلَةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَكْمَلَهَا قَالَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِي مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ فَأَكْمِلُوا بِهَا مَا ضَيَّعَ مِنْ فَرِيضَتِهِ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ ثُمَّ تُؤْخَذُالْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى حَسَبِ ذَلِكَ  

Anas ibn Hakim ad-Dabbi said that he feared Ziyad or Ibn Ziyad; so he came to Medina and met AbuHurayrah. He attributed his lineage to me and I became a member of his lineage. AbuHurayrah said (to me): O youth, should I not narrate a tradition to you? I said: Why not, may Allah have mercy on you? (Yunus (a narrator) said: I think he narrated it (the tradition) from the Prophet ﷺ:) The first thing about which the people will be called to account out of their actions on the Day of Judgment is prayer. Our Lord, the Exalted, will say to the angels - though He knows better: Look into the prayer of My servant and see whether he has offered it perfectly or imperfectly. If it is perfect, that will be recorded perfect. If it is defective, He will say: See there are some optional prayers offered by My servant. If there are optional prayer to his credit, He will say: Compensate the obligatory prayer by the optional prayer for My servant. Then all the actions will be considered similarly. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 864)   

يَا فَتَى أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكَ حَدِيثًا لَعَلَّ اللهَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَكَ بِهِ؟ قُلْتُ بَلَى يَرْحَمُكَ اللهُ قَالَ إِنَّ مِنْ أَوَّلَ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الصَّلَاةُ قَالَ يَقُولُ رَبُّنَا ﷻ لِمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ انْظُرُوا فِي صَلَاةِ عَبْدِي أَتَمَّهَا أَمْ نَقَصَهَا؟ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ تَامَّةً كُتِبَتْ لَهُ تَامَّةً وَإِنْ كَانَ انْتَقَصَ مِنْهَا شَيْئًا قَالَ انْظُرُوا هَلْ لِعَبْدِي مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ؟ فَإِنْ كَانَ لَهُ تَطَوُّعٌ قَالَ أَتِمُّوا لِعَبْدِي فَرِيضَتَهُ مِنْ تَطَوُّعِهِثُمَّ تُؤْخَذُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى ذَاكُمْ قَالَ يُونُسُ وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَدْ ذَكَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ  

[Machine] From a man among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The first thing that a servant will be held accountable for is his prayer. If he performed it properly, it will be recorded as complete for him. But if he did not perform it properly, Allah, the Almighty, will say: "Look if My servant has any voluntary prayers, so that you may complete what is lacking in his obligatory prayers." Then, the Zakat (charity) is also taken into account in the same way. Then, the rest of the deeds will be judged accordingly.  

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ صَلَاتُهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَتَمَّهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ تَامَّةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَتَمَّهَا قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِي مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ فَتُكْمِلُوا بِهَا فَرِيضَتَهُ؟ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ كَذَلِكَ ثُمَّ تُؤْخَذُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى حَسَبِ ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] On the authority of a man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The first thing for which a servant will be held accountable on the Day of Resurrection is his prayer. If it is complete, then it will be recorded as complete for him. But if it is deficient, Allah, may He be exalted, will say: 'Look and see whether My servant has any voluntary prayers?' So his obligatory prayers will be made up for by his voluntary prayers. Then the zakat will be dealt with in the same way. Then the rest of his deeds will be dealt with accordingly."  

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ صَلَاتُهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَتَمَّهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ تَامَّةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَتَمَّهَا قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِيمِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ فَتُكَمِّلُوا بِهَا فَرِيضَتَهُ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ كَذَلِكَ ثُمَّ تُؤْخَذُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى حَسَبِ ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] Narrated by a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ : The first thing for which a servant will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment is their prayer. If they perform it completely, it will be recorded as complete. However, if they do not perform it completely, Allah will say: "Look if my servant has any voluntary prayers, so that the missed obligations can be completed with them." Then, the next thing that will be taken into account is the payment of Zakat (obligatory charity). After that, the rest of the deeds will be evaluated accordingly.  

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ صَلَاتُهُ فَإِنْ أَتَمَّهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ تَامَّةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَتَمَّهَا قَالَ انْظُرُوا تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِي مِنْ تَطَوُّعٍ فَأَكْمِلُوا مَا ضَيَّعَ مِنْ فَرِيضَتِهِ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ ثُمَّ تُؤْخَذُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى حَسَبِ ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The first thing for which a person will be held accountable on the Day of Judgment is prayer. If it is perfect, it will be written as perfect for him. If it is not complete, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, will say to His angels, 'Look for any voluntary prayers with which My servant may complete what is lacking from his obligatory prayers.' Then, the same will be done with regards to zakah (obligatory charity) and all other deeds." This wording has been shortened by some of the companions of Hammād ibn Salamah and Musa ibn Ismail al-Hukm in their narration.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَوَّلُ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الصَّلَاةُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَكْمَلَهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ كَامِلَةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يُكْمِلْهَا قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى لِمَلَائِكَتِهِ هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِي تَطَوُّعًا تُكْمِلُوا بِهِ مَا ضَيَّعَ مِنْ فَرِيضَتِهِ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ سَائِرُ الْأَعْمَالِ عَلَى حَسَبِ ذَلِكَ «» قَصَرَ بِهِ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ وَمُوسَى بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْحُكْمَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily, the first thing for which a servant will be held accountable on the Day of Resurrection is his prayer. If it is complete, it will be recorded for him completely, and if it is not complete, Allah, the Exalted, will say to His angels: 'Look and see if my servant has any voluntary prayers that can complete what is deficient in his obligatory prayers.' Then, the same will apply to zakat (charity) and all other deeds will be dealt with accordingly." Hammad ibn Salamah narrated this and others also narrated it.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُحَاسَبُ بِهِ الْعَبْدُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ صَلَاتُهُ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَكْمَلَهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ كَامِلَةً وَإِنْ لَمْ يُكْمِلْهَا قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالَى لِمَلَائِكَتِهِ هَلْ تَجِدُونَ لِعَبْدِي تَطَوُّعًا تُكْمِلُوا بِهِ مَا ضَيَّعَ مِنْ فَرِيضَتِهِ ثُمَّ الزَّكَاةُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ سَائِرُ الْأَعْمَالِ عَلَى حَسَبِ ذَلِكَ رَفَعَهُ حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَوَقَفَهُ غَيْرُهُ  

"أَوَّلُ ما يحاسبُ النَّاسُ بهِ يَوْم القيامَةِ من أَعمالهم الصَّلاةُ، يقولُ ربُّنَا ﷻ لملائكتِهِ وهو أَعْلَمُ: انْظُرُوا في صَلَاة عَبْدِى أتَمَهَا أَمْ نَقَصهَا؟ فإنْ كَانت تَامَّةً كُتبتْ لَهُ تَامَّةً، وإِن كَانَ انتَقَصَ مِنْهَا شيْئًا، قال: انْظُرُوا: هل لعبدى من تَطَوَّع؟ فإِن كان له تَطُوُّعٌ، قال: أَتِمُّوا لعبدى فريضتَهُ من تَطوُّعِهِ، ثُمَّ تُؤْخذُ الأعمالُ على ذَاكُمْ ".
