"عَنِ السَّائِبِ ابْنِ أُخْتِ نَمِرٍ، قَالَ: صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ مُعَاوِيةَ الْجُمُعَةَ في الْمَقْصُورَةِ، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ الإِمَامُ قُمْتُ فِى مقَامِى، فَصَلَّيْتُ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَىَّ، وَقَالَ: لَا تَعُدْ لِمَا فَعَلْتَ، إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ الْجُمُعَةَ، فَلَا تَصِلْهَا بِصَلَاةٍ حَتَّى تَتَكلَّمَ أوْ تَخْرُجَ، فَإِنَّ رسولَ الله ﷺ أَمَرَنَا بِذَلِكَ: أَنْ لَا نُوصِلَ صَلَاةً حَتَّى نَتَكلَّمَ أَوْ نَخْرُجَ".
Nafi b. Jubayr sent him to al-Saib, the son of the sister of Numayr, to ask him about something Muawiyah had seen him do during the prayer. He said: Yes, I prayed the Friday prayer with him in the enclosed area. When the imam said the taslim (ended the prayer), I stood in my place and prayed. When he entered, he sent for me and said: Do not repeat what you did. When you pray the Friday prayer, do not join it to another prayer until you speak or go out, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to do that: that no prayer is to be joined to another until we speak or go out.
أَنَّ نَافِعَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ أَرْسَلَهُ إِلَى السَّائِبِ ابْنِ أُخْتِ نَمِرٍ، يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ رَآهُ مِنْهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ الْجُمُعَةَ فِي الْمَقْصُورَةِ، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ الْإِمَامُ، قُمْتُ فِي مَقَامِي فَصَلَّيْتُ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ، فَقَالَ: لَا تَعُدْ لِمَا فَعَلْتَ: إِذَا صَلَّيْتَ الْجُمُعَةَ فَلَا تَصِلْهَا بِصَلَاةٍ حَتَّى تَتَكَلَّمَ أَوْ تَخْرُجَ، فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَرَنَا بِذَلِكَ، أَنْ لَا تُوصَلَ صَلَاةٌ حَتَّى نَتَكَلَّمَ أَوْ نَخْرُجَ.
I offered the Friday prayer along with him in enclosure. When I uttered the salutation I stood up in my place and prayed. When he went in, he sent me a message saying: Never again do what you have done. When you pray the Friday prayer, you must not join another prayer to it till you have engaged in conversation or gone out, for the Prophet of Allah ﷺ gave the precise command not to join on prayer till you have engaged in conversation or gone out.

[Machine] About something that Muawiyah saw in the prayer, he said: "I prayed with him (Muhammad) the Friday prayer in the enclosure. When he finished, I stood in my place and prayed. When he entered (the enclosure), he sent for me and said, 'Do not repeat what you did when you pray the Friday prayer. Do not connect it with another prayer until you speak or leave. For the Prophet ﷺ commanded that.' Additionally, he added in his narration, 'Do not connect it with another prayer until you speak or leave.'"
