The best of' the deeds or deed is the (observance of) prayer at its proper time and kindness to the parents.
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَفْضَلُ الأَعْمَالِ أَوِ الْعَمَلِ الصَّلاَةُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ
The best of' the deeds or deed is the (observance of) prayer at its proper time and kindness to the parents.
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَفْضَلُ الأَعْمَالِ أَوِ الْعَمَلِ الصَّلاَةُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ
A man asked the Prophet ﷺ "What deeds are the best?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "(1) To perform the (daily compulsory) prayers at their (early) stated fixed times, (2) to be good and dutiful to one's own parents, (3) and to participate in Jihad in Allah's Cause."
أَنَّ رَجُلاً سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الصَّلاَةُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ
Prayer at its appointed hour. I (again) said: Then what? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Kindness to the parents. I (again) said: Then what? He replied: Earnest endeavour (Jihad) in the cause of Allah. And I would have not ceased asking more questions but out of regard (for his feelings).
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الصَّلاَةُ لِوَقْتِهَا قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَىٌّ قَالَ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَىٌّ قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَمَا تَرَكْتُ أَسْتَزِيدُهُ إِلاَّ إِرْعَاءً عَلَيْهِ
The Prophet ﷺ was asked: which is the best action? He replied: To stand in prayer for a long time.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ طُولُ الْقِيَامِ
"The Prophet was asked: 'Which deed is the best?' So he said: 'Salat in the beginning of its time.'"
عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ أُمِّ فَرْوَةَ وَكَانَتْ مِمَّنْ بَايَعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَتْ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الصَّلاَةُ لأَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا
"I heard Abu 'Amr Ash-Shaibani say: 'The owner of this house - and he pointed to the house of 'Abdullah - said: I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'Which deed is most beloved to Allah, may He be exalted?' He said: 'Prayer offered on time, honoring one's parents, and Jihad in the cause of Allah.'"
حَدَّثَنَا صَاحِبُ هَذِهِ الدَّارِ وَأَشَارَ إِلَى دَارِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَىُّ الْعَمَلِ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى قَالَ الصَّلاَةُ عَلَى وَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] was asked: "Which deed is best?" "He said: Faith in Allah [SWT] and His messenger [SAW]."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَىُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ
“The Prophet ﷺ was asked: ‘Which prayer is best?’ He said: ‘That with the longer Qunut.’”
سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَىُّ الصَّلاَةِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ طُولُ الْقُنُوتِ
[AI] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ , "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Belief in Allah and striving in the cause of Allah."
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَجِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»
[AI] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Which deeds are best?" He replied, "Praying on time, being dutiful to one's parents, and striving in the cause of Allah. Even if I were to request more, he said, Husayn would increase it (meaning it would not be sufficient)."
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَقَالَ الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَوِ اسْتَزَدْتُ لَزَادَنِي قَالَ حُسَيْنٌ ولَوِ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ
[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, which actions are the best?" He replied, "Prayer at its prescribed time."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا
[AI] I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which action is the best?" He said, "Praying at its prescribed time." I asked, "Then what?" He said, "Showing kindness to parents." I asked, "Then what?" He said, "Fighting in the cause of Allah, even if it is a small effort, it will increase me."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ؟ قَالَ بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ قَالَ قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ؟ قَالَ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ﷻ وَلَوِ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ لَزَادَنِي
[AI] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Praying on time, showing kindness to parents, and striving in the cause of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic."
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قُلْتُ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الصَّلَوَاتُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ﷻ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the prayer which was most excellent. He said: That in which the standing is longer. (This hadith is narrated by another chain of transmitters too.) (Using translation from Muslim 756b)
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الصَّلَاةِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ طُولُ الْقُنُوتِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَفْضَلُ صَلَاةِ الْمَرْءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ
[AI] A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, 'Which deed is the best?' He replied, 'Performing the prayer on time, honoring parents, and striving in the cause of Allah.'"
يُحَدِّثُعَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ أَوْ قَالَ أَفْضَلُ الْعَمَلِ الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْجِهَادُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Praying on time."
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا
[AI] The world is like a camel's udder that has been purchased by the Messenger of Allah. She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the best deeds. He said, "Prayer at its appointed time."
الدُّنْيَاعَنْ أُمِّ فَرْوَةَ وَكَانَتْ قَدْ بَايَعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَتْ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَفْضَلِ الْأْعْمَالِ ؟ فَقَالَ الصَّلَاةُ لِأَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا
[AI] She heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and a man asked him about the best deeds. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded, "Prayer at its appointed time."
أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ أَفْضَلِ الْأَعْمَالِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الصَّلَاةُ لِأَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا
[AI] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Which action is the best?" He said, "Praying at the beginning of its prescribed time." I asked, "Then which action?" He said, "Jihad in the cause of Allah." I asked, "Then which action?" He said, "Being dutiful to one's parents."
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ «الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ «بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which action is the best?" He replied, "Offering the prayer at its earliest time."
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا»
“Which actions are best?” He said: “Raising one’s voice and slaughtering the sacrificial animal.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2924)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الْعَجُّ وَالثَّجُّ»
[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, which action is the best?" He said, "Faith in Allah and striving in His path."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ ﷺ «سَقْيُ الْمَاءِ»
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Indeed, the best deed of a believer is jihad for the sake of Allah."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ عَمَلِ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ»
[AI] I asked the Prophet ﷺ , "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Performing prayers on time, and then striving in the cause of Allah."
سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَقَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ»

[AI] I said, "Oh Messenger of Allah, which action is the best?" He said, "Praying on time."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا»
[AI] On the authority of a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , it is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which deed is the best?" He replied, "The prayer at its appointed time."
عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سُئِلَ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا»

سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا وَبِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ» وَلَوِ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ لَزَادَنِي
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which action is best?" He said, "Kindness towards parents and praying on time." This narration was reported by Zaidah and was narrated by Shu'bah and Hammad ibn Salamah.
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنَ وَالصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا» أَسْنَدَهُ زَائِدَةُ وَأَوْقَفَهُ شُعْبَةُ وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best charity is to reconcile between people."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَةِ إِصْلَاحُ ذَاتِ الْبَيِّنِ»
[AI] About Umm Farwah, she had pledged allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ. She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which deeds are the most virtuous?" He replied, "Praying in its earliest prescribed time."
عَنْ أُمِّ فَرْوَةَ وَكَانَتْ قَدْ بَايَعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَتْ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "The most beloved deeds to Allah are the prayers in their designated time."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا»
[AI] The messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which action is the best?". He replied, "Prayer at its earliest time."
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ فَقَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لَأَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا»
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which deeds are the best?" He replied, "Believing in Allah and then performing the prayer at its prescribed time."

أحبُّ الأعمالِ إلى اللهِ - تعالى -: الصلاةُ لوقتِها، ثمَّ برُّ الوالدينِ، ثم الجهادُ في سبيلِ اللهِ".

"أفْضَلُ الأعَمالِ الصَّلاةُ لِوَقتِها، وبرُّ الوَالدين" .
"أفضلُ الأعمالِ الصَّلاةُ في أوَّلِ وَقتِهَا" .

"أفْضَلُ الأعْمَالِ الصلاةُ لِوَقتها، وبر الوالِدَينِ، والجهادُ في سبيلِ الله" .
"أفضلُ الأعمالِ إيمانٌ بالله، ثمَّ الصلاةُ لأوَّلِ وَقِتها".
"أفضلُ الأعمالِ: الصَّلاةُ، ثُمَّ الصَّلاُةُ، ثمَّ الصَّلاةُ، ثمَّ الجهادُ في سبيل الله".
