The Apostle of Allah ﷺ performed two prostrations for forgetfulness after salutation and talking.  

مسلم:٥٧٢m – وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ح قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ بَعْدَ السَّلاَمِ وَالْكَلاَمِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prostrated twice after the salam on the day of Dhul-Yadain.  

النسائي:١٢٣٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادِ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَجَدَ يَوْمَ ذِي الْيَدَيْنِ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ السَّلاَمِ  

nasai:1235 – ʿAmr b. ʿUthmān b. Saʿīd b. Kathīr b. Dīnār > Baqiyyah > Shuʿbah > Ibn ʿAwn And Khālid al-Ḥadhhāʾ > Ibn Sīrīn > Abū Hurayrah

The Prophet ﷺ prostrated after the salam when he was not sure.  

النسائي:١٢٣٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عَوْنٍ وَخَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سَجَدَ فِي وَهْمِهِ بَعْدَ التَّسْلِيمِ  

abudawud:1016 – Hārūn b. ʿAbdullāh > Hāshim b. al-Qāsim > ʿIkrimah b. ʿAmmār > Ḍamḍam b. Jaws al-Hiffānī > Abū Hurayrah Bihadhā al-Khabar

Abu Hurairah reported; He then made two prostration on account of forgetfulness after he had given the salutation.  

أبو داود:١٠١٦ – حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ ضَمْضَمِ بْنِ جَوْسٍ الْهِفَّانِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ بِهَذَا الْخَبَرِ قَالَ

ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ  

ahmad:4358 – Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Ibrāhīm > ʿAlqamah > ʿAbdullāh

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made a mistake in the prayer, so he performed the prostrations of forgetfulness after completing the speech.  

أحمد:٤٣٥٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى بِهِمْ فَسَهَا فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَي السَّهْوِ بَعْدَ السَّلَامِ وَالْكَلَامِ»
