The Prophet ﷺ said the salam, then he spoke, then he performed two prostrations of forgetfulness.

The Apostle of Allah ﷺ performed two prostrations for forgetfulness after salutation and talking.

مسلم:٥٧٢m – وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ح قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ بَعْدَ السَّلاَمِ وَالْكَلاَمِ

abudawud:1016 – Hārūn b. ʿAbdullāh > Hāshim b. al-Qāsim > ʿIkrimah b. ʿAmmār > Ḍamḍam b. Jaws al-Hiffānī > Abū Hurayrah Bihadhā al-Khabar

Abu Hurairah reported; He then made two prostration on account of forgetfulness after he had given the salutation.

أبو داود:١٠١٦ – حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ ضَمْضَمِ بْنِ جَوْسٍ الْهِفَّانِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ بِهَذَا الْخَبَرِ قَالَ

ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ
