A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "If anyone of us gets menses in her clothes then what should she do?" He replied, "She should (take hold of the soiled place), rub it and put it in the water and rub it in order to remove the traces of blood and then pour water over it. Then she can pray in it."

جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ أَرَأَيْتَ إِحْدَانَا تَحِيضُ فِي الثَّوْبِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ قَالَ تَحُتُّهُ ثُمَّ تَقْرُصُهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَتَنْضَحُهُ وَتُصَلِّي فِيهِ

A woman asked Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! What should we do, if the blood of menses falls on our clothes?" Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "If the blood of menses falls on the garment of anyone of you, she must take hold of the blood spot, rub it, and wash it with water and then pray in (with it).

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِحْدَانَا إِذَا أَصَابَ ثَوْبَهَا الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَصَابَ ثَوْبَ إِحْدَاكُنَّ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ فَلْتَقْرُصْهُ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ بِمَاءٍ ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّي فِيهِ

A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: What should one do if the blood of menses smears the garment of one amongst us? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: She should scrape it, then rub it with water, then pour water over it and then offer prayer in it.

جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِحْدَانَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهَا مِنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضَةِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ بِهِ قَالَ تَحُتُّهُ ثُمَّ تَقْرُصُهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ تَنْضَحُهُ ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي فِيهِ

A woman asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Messenger of Allah, what do you think if the clothe of any of us smeared with the blood of menstruation; what should she do ? He said: If (the clothe of) any of you is smeared with blood of menstruation, she should scratch it; then she should sprinkle water upon it and then she may pray.

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِحْدَانَا إِذَا أَصَابَ ثَوْبَهَا الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ قَالَ إِذَا أَصَابَ إِحْدَاكُنَّ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضِ فَلْتَقْرِصْهُ ثُمَّ لْتَنْضَحْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لْتُصَلِّي

[AI] A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, what should a woman do if she experiences bleeding during her menstrual period?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "She should use a cloth to cover the affected area, then wash it with water, and then pray in it."

أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ امْرَأَةٌ فَقَالَتْيَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الْمَرْأَةُ يُصِيبُهَا مِنْ دَمِ حَيْضِهَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِتَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرِضْهُ بِمَاءٍ ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّي فِيهِ

[AI] A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "One of us is affected by her menstrual blood. What should she do?" He said, "She should place a cloth underneath her, then wash it with water, then sprinkle it with water, and then pray using it."

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِحْدَانَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهَا مِنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضَةِ؟ قَالَ تَحُتُّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرُصْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي فِيهِ

[AI] A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "One of us gets menstrual blood on her clothes. He said, "She should wash the affected area with water, then sprinkle it with water, and then pray in it."

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِحْدَانَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبُهَا مِنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضِ ؟ قَالَ تَحُتُّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرُصَهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ تَنْضَحْهُ ثُمَّ تُصَلِّي فِيهِ

[AI] A woman asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about menstrual blood, so he said, "Wash it away, then sprinkle water over it, and pray in it."

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضِ فَقَالَ «حُتِّيهِ ثُمَّ اقْرُصِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ رُشِّيهِ وَصَلِّي فِيهِ»

[AI] She (a female companion) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a garment that gets blood stains from menstruation. He said, "First, clean it with water, then sprinkle it with water, and then pray in it."

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ يُصِيبُهُ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ فَقَالَ «لِتَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ تَقْرُصْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ فَتُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about menstrual blood staining the clothing. He said, "You should moisten it with water, then sprinkle it, and then perform prayer in it."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضَةِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَقَالَ «تَقْرِضُهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ تَنْضَحُهُ وَتُصَلِّي فِيهِ»

[AI] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, from Hisham ibn 'Urwah, from Fatimah bint Al-Mundhir, from Asma' bint Abi Bakr, that she said: a woman asked the Prophet ﷺ, she said: "O Messenger of Allah, what should one of us do if her clothing becomes stained with menstrual blood?" He said: "If one of you gets blood from menstruation on her garment, let her borrow it, then sprinkle it with water, then perform the prayer."

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِحْدَانَا إِذَا أَصَابَ ثَوْبَهَا الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ «إِذَا أَصَابَ إِحْدَاكُنَّ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ فَلْتَقْرِضْهُ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a garment that is stained with menstrual blood. He said, "Firstly, scrape off the blood, then soak it in water, and then you may pray in it."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ يُصِيبُهُ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ قَالَ «لِتَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرِضْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّ فِيهِ»

[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, if one of us gets menstrual blood on her clothes, what should she do?" He said, "She should scrape it off and then rinse it with water."

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ إِحْدَانَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهَا دَمُ الْحَيْضِ كَيْفَ تَصْنَعُ بِهِ؟ قَالَ «تَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ تَقْرِضْهُ بِالْمَاءِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a garment that becomes stained with blood during menstruation. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Rub it, then scratch it off, then rinse it, then perform prayer in it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ يُصِيبُهُ الدَّمُ مِنَ الْحَيْضَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لِتَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرِضْهُ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ ثُمَّ لِتُصَلِّ فِيهِ»

[AI] A woman asked the Prophet ﷺ and said, "One of us may be afflicted with menstrual blood on her garment." He said, "Let her narrate it, then rub it, then sprinkle it with water, and then pray in it."

سَأَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِحْدَانَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهَا دَمُ الْحَيْضَةِ فَقَالَ «لِتَحُتَّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرِضْهُ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ بِمَاءٍ فَتُصَلِّ فِيهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about menstrual blood that stains clothing, and he replied, "Scrape it off, then soak it in water, then squeeze it out and wash it, and then perform prayer in it."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ دَمِ الْحَيْضَةِ يُصِيبُ الثَّوْبَ فَقَالَ «حُتِّيهِ ثُمَّ اقْرِضِيهِ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ انْضَحِيهِ وَصَلِّى فِيهِ»

[AI] A woman asked the Prophet ﷺ about a situation where menstrual blood gets on her clothing, so he said, "She should scrape it off, wash it with water, and then pray in it."

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلْتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ إِحْدَانَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبَهَا دَمُ الْحَيْضِ فَقَالَ «لِتَحُكَّهُ ثُمَّ لِتَقْرِضْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ تُصَلِّ فِيهِ»

[AI] She asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, one of us gets her menses on her garment and sees blood." He said, "If one of you sees that on her garment, she should soak it in water and then sprinkle it and pray in it."

أَنَّهَا سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِحْدَانَا تَحِيضُ فِي ثَوْبِهَا وَتَرَى الدَّمَ فَقَالَ «إِذَا رَأَتْ إِحْدَاكُنَّ ذَلِكَ فِي ثَوْبِهَا فَلْتَقْرِضْهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ لِتَنْضَحْهُ ولْتُصَلِّ فِيهِ»

A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: What should one do if the blood of menses smears the garment of one amongst us? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: She should scrape it, then rub it with water, then pour water over it and then offer prayer in it. (Using translation from Muslim 291a)
