“Umar bin Khattab consulted the people concerning a woman who had been caused to miscarry. Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah said: 'I saw the messenger of Allah ﷺ rule that a slave, male or female, be given as blood money (for a fetus).' 'Umar said: 'Bring me someone who will testify alongside you. So he brought Muhammad bin Maslamah to testify along with him.'”

'Umar consulted the companions about the case of a woman's abortion (caused by somebody else). Al-Mughira said: The Prophet ﷺ gave the verdict that a male or female slave should be given (as a Diya). Then Muhammad bin Maslama testified that he had witnessed the Prophet ﷺ giving such a verdict.

I bear witness to the fact that Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave judgment about it that a good quality of slave or female slave should be given for it. Thereupon 'Umar said: Bring one who may bear witness to you. Then Muhammad b. Maslama bore witness to him.

'Umar consulted the people about the compensation of abortion of woman. Al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah said: I was present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he gave judgement that a male or female slave should testify you. So he brought Muhammad b. Maslamah to him. Harun added: He then testified him. Imlas means a man striking the belly of his wife. Abu Dawud said: I have been informed that Abu 'Ubaid said: It (abortion) is called imlas because the woman causes it to slip before the time of delivery. Similarly, anything which slips from the hand or from some other thing is called malasa (slipped).

[Machine] That 'Umar asked people's advice regarding the fetus that the woman has, and Al-Mugheerah said, "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled in a similar case that it is considered a pregnancy from a slave or a bondswoman." 'Umar said, "If you are telling the truth, bring someone to testify with you." So, Muhammad ibn Muslimah testified that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ verdict on such a case.

أَنَّ عُمَرَ اسْتَشَارَ النَّاسَ فِي الْجَنِينِ تَطْرَحُهُ الْمَرْأَةُ فَقَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ «قَضَى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِغُرَّةٍ عَبْدٍ أَوْ وَلِيدَةٍ» فَقَالَ عُمَرُ إِنْ كُنْتَ صَادِقًا فَائْتِ بِأَحَدٍ يَشْهَدُ مَعَكَ فَشَهِدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِهِ

[Machine] Al-Mughira reported, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave a verdict in favor of a slave or a female slave." So Umar said, "Who will testify with you if you are truthful?" Muhammad ibn Muslimah testified that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ make that judgment.

[Machine] That Umar consulted the people regarding the emancipation of a woman. Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba said, "I bear witness that I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruling in favor of freeing a male or female slave on the day of Ghurrah (headdress). He said, 'Do you have anyone who can testify with you?' So Muhammad bin Maslamah testified for him."

[Machine] "Al-Mughira, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled in favor of a slave or a servant." So, Umar said, "Who will testify to your statement?" So, Muhammad ibn Muslimah testified for him.

[Machine] Al-Mughira bin Shu'bah reported, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled in his favor on a certain matter." Muhammad bin Muslima Al-Ansari testified for him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had ruled in his favor.
