ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنِ اعْتِدَاءِ النَّاسِ فِي الدُّعَاءِ وَالطُّهُورِ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ

[Machine] "O my son, when you ask, ask Allah for Jannah (paradise) and seek protection with Him from the fire, for I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'In the end of times, there will be people who go to excess in their supplication and purification.'"  

ابن حبّان:٦٧٦٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ سَمِعَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُغَفَّلِ ابْنًا لَهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْقَصْرَ الْأَبْيَضَ عَنْ يَمِينِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ

يَا بُنَيَّ إِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللَّهَ الْجَنَّةَ وَتَعَوَّذْ بِهِ مِنَ النَّارِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَكُونُ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ قَوْمٌ يَعْتَدُونَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ وَالطُّهُورِ»

Abdullah heard his son praying to Allah: O Allah, I ask Thee a white palace on the right of Paradise when I enter it. He said: O my son, ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge in Him from Hell-Fire, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: In this community there will be some people who will exceed the limits in purification as well as in supplication. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 96)   

أحمد:١٦٧٩٦ – حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي نَعَامَةَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مُغَفَّلٍ

سَمِعَ ابْنًا لَهُ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ وَكَذَا وَأَسْأَلُكَ كَذَا فَقَالَ أَيْ بُنَيَّ سَلِ اللهَ الْجَنَّةَ وَتَعَوَّذْ بِاللهِ مِنَ النَّارِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَكُونُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ قَوْمٌ يَعْتَدُونَ فِي الدُّعَاءِ وَالطَّهُورِ  

ahmad:20554 – ʿAbd al-Ṣamad And ʿAffān > Ḥammād b. Salamah > al-Jurayrī

'Abdullah bin Mughaffal heard his son say: "O Allah, I ask You for the white palace on the right-hand side of Paradise, when I enter it." He said: "O my son, ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge with Him from Hell, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (saas) say: 'There will be people who will transgress in supplication.'" سَمِعَ ابْنَهُ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْقَصْرَ الْأَبْيَضَ عَنْ يَمِينِ الْجَنَّةِ إِذَا دَخَلْتُهَا فَقَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ سَلِ اللَّهَ الْجَنَّةَ وَتَعَوَّذْ بِهِ مِنَ النَّارِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ قَوْمٌ يَعْتَدُونَ فِي الطُّهُورِ وَالدُّعَاءِ» فيه إرسال  

bayhaqi:947 – Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > Abū Bakr b. Isḥāq > Muḥammad b. Ayyūb ḥ

[Machine] "O my son, ask Allah for Paradise and seek refuge in Him from the Fire, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying that there will be a group in this Ummah who commit excesses in purification and supplication."
