"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and we were raising our hands during the Salah. He said: 'Why are you raising your hands while praying, like the tails of wild horses? Stay still when you are praying.'"

خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ رَافِعُو أَيْدِينَا فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ مَا بَالُهُمْ رَافِعِينَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي الصَّلاَةِ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ الْخَيْلِ الشُّمُسِ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلاَةِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon us while the people were raising their hands. The narrator Zubair said: I think( they were raising the hands) during prayer. He (the prophet) said: What is the matter, I see you raising your hands as if they are the tails of restive horses! Maintain tranquility during prayer.

دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَالنَّاسُ رَافِعُو أَيْدِيهِمْ قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ أُرَاهُ قَالَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيكُمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلاَةِ

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque while they were praying, and he said, "Why do I see you hastening? Calm down." And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque while they had raised their hands in prayer, and he said, "They have raised their hands as if they were the tails of horses under the sun. Restrain yourselves in prayer."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَهُمْ حِلَقٌ فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عِزِينَ؟ وَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَسْجِدَ وَقَدْ رَفَعُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَقَالَ قَدْ رَفَعُوهَا كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon us while we were raising our hands in prayer, and he said, "Why do I see you raising your hands as if they were the ears of horses? Keep them calm in prayer." He then entered the mosque while we were sitting in circles. He said, "Why do I see you sitting apart?"

دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَنَحْنُ رَافِعِو أَيْدِينَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيكُمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ وَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا الْمَسْجِدَ وَنَحْنُ حِلَقٌ مُتَفَرِّقُونَ فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عِزِينَ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered the mosque and saw them raising their hands. He said, "Why are they raising their hands as if they were the tails of galloping horses under the sun? Be calm in prayer."

دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمَسْجِدَ فَرَآهُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيهِمْ قَالَ «مَا لَهُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيهِمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمُسٍ؟ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ saw people raising their hands in prayer and said, 'They have raised their hands as if they were the tails of horses with suns, so calm down in prayer.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَأَى قَوْمًا قَدْ رَفَعُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ «قَدْ رَفَعُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمُسٍ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ أُرَاهُ قَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَهُمْ رَافِعُوا أَيْدِيهِمْ وَقَالَ «مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيكُمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمُسٍ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ went out and entered the mosque, and he saw the people raising their hands. He said, "Why do I see the people raising their hands as if they were the tails of galloping horses in the sun? Calm down in prayer."

خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَدَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَرَأَى النَّاسَ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيهِمْ فَقَالَ «مَا لِي أَرَى النَّاسَ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيهِمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ الْخَيْلِ الشُّمُسِ؟ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us and we were raising our hands during the Salah. He said: 'Why are you raising your hands while praying, like the tails of wild horses? Stay still when you are praying.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1184)

اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم أَنَّه دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَرَآهُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيهِمْ فِي الصَّلاةِ فَقَالَ مَا لَهُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيهِمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ الْخَيْلِ الشُّمُسِ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلاةِ

"مَا لي أرَاكُم رَافعي أَيديَكُم كَأنَّها أَذْنَابُ خَيل شُمْس اسْكُنُوا في الصَّلَاةِ".
