[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque while they were praying, and he said, "Why do I see you hastening? Calm down." And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque while they had raised their hands in prayer, and he said, "They have raised their hands as if they were the tails of horses under the sun. Restrain yourselves in prayer."  

أحمد:٢٠٩٥٨ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُسَيَّبُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَهُمْ حِلَقٌ فَقَالَ مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عِزِينَ؟ وَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَسْجِدَ وَقَدْ رَفَعُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ فَقَالَ قَدْ رَفَعُوهَا كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon us while we were raising our hands in prayer, and he said, "Why do I see you raising your hands as if they were the ears of horses? Keep them calm in prayer." He then entered the mosque while we were sitting in circles. He said, "Why do I see you sitting apart?"

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he entered the mosque and saw a group of people raising their hands. He said, "They have raised them like the tails of horses in the sun. Stay calm in your prayer."

He (the prophet) said: What is the matter, I see you raising your hands as if they are the tails of restive horses! Maintain tranquility during prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1000)   

ابن حبّان:١٨٧٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَوْدُودٍ بِحَرَّانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ

دَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَإِذَا النَّاسُ رَافِعُو أَيْدِيهِمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ «مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ رَافِعِي أَيْدِيكُمْ كَأَنَّهَا أَذْنَابُ خَيْلٍ شُمْسٍ؟ اسْكُنُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»
