hakim:94Daʿlaj b. Aḥmad al-Sijzī > Mūsá b. Hārūn and Ṣāliḥ b. Muqātil > ʿAlī b. Ḥamshādh > Abū al-Muthanná al-ʿAnazī and Aḥmad b. ʿAlī al-Abbār > Aḥmad b. Sahl b. Ḥamdawayh > Ṣāliḥ b. Muḥammad b. Ḥabīb al-Ḥāfiẓ > Aḥmad b. Janāb al-Miṣṣīṣī > ʿĪsá b. Yūnus > Sufyān al-Thawrī > Zubayd > Murrah > ʿAbdullāh

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has divided between you your characters just as he has divided between you your provisions. Allah gives worldly ˹provisions˺ to the one He loves and to the one whom He does not love, but He does not faith except to the one He loves."

This ḥadīth has a sound chain and is solitary from Aḥmad b. Janāb al-Miṣṣīṣī. In this book, our criteria is that we collect aḥādīth from credible narrators if we do not find any hidden defects in them. We have found two supporting evidences of ʿĪsá b. Yūnus and one of them meets the criteria of this book and it is from Sufyān b. ʿUqbah, the brother of Qabīṣah.

God only gives faith to the one He loves

hakim:7301Abū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Muḥammad b. ʿUqbah al-Shaybānī Bi-al-Kūfah > Ibrāhīm b. Isḥāq al-Zuhrī > Yaʿlá And Muḥammad Āb.ā ʿUbayd > Abān b. Isḥāq > al-Ṣabbāḥ b. Muḥammad al-Bajalī > Murrah al-Hamdānī > ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has divided between you your characters just as he has divided between you your provisions. Allah gives wealth to the one He loves and to the one whom He does not love, but He does not give faith except to the one He loves. And whomever Allah gives faith to then He indeed loves him. I swear by the One who has the soul of Muḥammad in his Hand, a servant does not have Islam until his heart is in submission, and a servant does not have Islam until his neighbor is safe from his wickedness."
