Anas (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe fast till it was said that he had observed fast, he had observed fast (perhaps never to break it), and he did not fast till it was said that he had given up fast, he had given up fast (perhaps never to observe it).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى يُقَالَ قَدْ صَامَ قَدْ صَامَ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى يُقَالَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ

I asked Sa'id b. Jubair about fasting during Rajab. He said: Ibn 'Abbas told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast to such an extent that we thought that he would never break his fast; and he would go without fasting to such an extent that we thought he would never fast.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لاَ يُفْطِرُ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لاَ يَصُومُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ الأَبَدَ فَلاَ صَامَ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts every day of is life, then he has neither fasted, nor broken the fast."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ الأَبَدَ فَلاَ صَامَ وَلاَ أَفْطَرَ

"someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ الأَبَدَ فَلاَ صَامَ

"someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ الأَبَدَ فَلاَ صَامَ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The one who fasts every day of his life has neither fasted, nor broken the fast."' 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ الأَبَدَ فَلاَ صَامَ وَلاَ أَفْطَرَ

the Messenger of Allah said, concerning one who fasted for the rest of his life: "He neither fasted nor broke his fast." 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فِي صَوْمِ الدَّهْرِ لاَ صَامَ وَلاَ أَفْطَرَ

“The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Whoever fasts continually, he neither fasts nor breaks his fast.’”

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ الأَبَدَ فَلاَ صَامَ وَلاَ أَفْطَرَ

“There is no fasting for one who fasts continually.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ صَامَ مَنْ صَامَ الأَبَدَ

[AI] Regarding the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Fasting on the white days is equivalent to fasting the entire year, and breaking the fast on these days is also rewarding."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صِيَامُ الْبِيضِ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ»

I asked Sa'id b. Jubair about fasting during Rajab. He said: Ibn 'Abbas told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast to such an extent that we thought that he would never break his fast; and he would go without fasting to such an extent that we thought he would never fast. أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ

“There is no fasting for one who fasts continually.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1706)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا صَامَ مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ

"someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2376)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ فَلَا صَامَ

"someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2375)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا صَامَ مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to fast until it would be said, "He had kept fasting" and would break his fast until it would be said, "He had broken his fast."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى يُقَالَ صَامَ صَامَ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى يُقَالَ أَفْطَرَ أَفْطَرَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to fast until it was said that he had fasted, and he would break his fast until it was said that he had broken his fast.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى يُقَالَ وقَدْ صَامَ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى يُقَالَ قَدْ أَفْطَرَ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts every day of is life, then he has neither fasted, nor broken the fast." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2374)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ الدَّهْرَ لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ وَمَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ

[AI] A man asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about fasting the entire year, and the Prophet replied, "He neither fasts nor breaks his fast."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَوْمِ الدَّهْرِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ أَوْ قَالَ لَمْ يَصُمْ وَلَمْ يُفْطِرْ

[AI] "He (referring to the Prophet) was asked, or the Prophet of Allah was asked, about a man who fasts continuously. He (the Prophet) replied, 'He neither fasts nor breaks his fast.'"

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَوْ سُئِلَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ رَجُلٍيَصُومُ الدَّهْرَ فَقَالَ لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ

"It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, so and so never broke his fast, even for one day for the rest of his life.' He said: 'He has neither fasted nor broken his fast."" 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2379)

قِيلَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ فُلَانًا لَا يُفْطِرُ نَهَارًا الدَّهْرَ قَالَ لَا أَفْطَرَ وَلَا صَامَ

"It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, so and so never broke his fast, even for one day for the rest of his life.' He said: 'He has neither fasted nor broken his fast."" 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2379)

قِيلَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ فُلَانًا لَا يُفْطِرُ نَهَارَ الدَّهْرِ قَالَ «لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts every day of is life, then he has neither fasted, nor broken the fast." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2374)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ فَلَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts every day of is life, then he has neither fasted, nor broken the fast." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2374)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ فَلَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever fasts forever, he neither fasts nor breaks his fast."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ فَلَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ»

"It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, so and so never broke his fast, even for one day for the rest of his life.' He said: 'He has neither fasted nor broken his fast."" 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2379)

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ فُلَانًا لَا يُفْطِرُ الدَّهْرَ قَالَ «لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ»

[AI] It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, so-and-so fasts throughout the year." He (the Prophet) said, "He neither fasts nor breaks his fast."

قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ فُلَانًا يَصُومُ الدَّهْرَ قَالَ «لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Fasting the white days is fasting for a lifetime, and its iftar (breaking the fast) is blessed."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صِيَامُ الْبِيضِ صِيَامُ الدَّهْرِ وَإِفْطَارُهُ»

the Messenger of Allah said, concerning one who fasted for the rest of his life: "He neither fasted nor broke his fast." 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2381)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فِي صَوْمِ الدَّهْرِ «لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2373)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ فَلَا صَامَ»

“The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Whoever fasts continually, he neither fasts nor breaks his fast.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1705)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ فَلَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2373)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ فَلَا صَامَ»

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2373)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ فَلَا صَامَ»

“The Prophet ﷺ said: ‘Whoever fasts continually, he neither fasts nor breaks his fast.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1705)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَامَ الْأَبَدَ فَلَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ»

"صُمْ؛ أَفْضَلُ الصِّيَام: صِيَام دَاوُدَ؛ صَوْمُ يَوْم وَفِطرُ يَوْمٍ".

"مَنْ صَامَ الأَبَدَ فَلا صَامَ".

"مَنْ صَامَ الأبَدَ فَلا صَامَ وَلا أَفْطَرَ".

"مَنْ صَامَ الدَهْرَ مَا صَامَ وَمَا أَفْطَرَ".

"لاَ صَامَ وَلاَ أَفْطَرَ مَنْ صَامَ الأبَدَ".

"لَا صَومَ فَوْقَ صَوْمِ دَاوُدَ شَطْرَ الدَّهْرِ، صُمْ يَوْمًا وَأَفْطِرْ يَوْمًا".

"عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ الشِّخَير، عَنِ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ صِيَامِ الدَّهْرِ؟ فَقَالَ: لَا صَامَ وَلَا أَفْطَرَ، أَوْ مَا صَامَ وَمَا أَفْطَرَ".
