“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast until we thought he would never stop fasting. And he used to not fast until we thought we would never fast. And he never fasted any complete month apart from Ramadan, from the time he came to Al- Madinah.”  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لاَ يُفْطِرُ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لاَ يَصُومُ وَمَا صَامَ شَهْرًا مُتَتَابِعًا إِلاَّ رَمَضَانَ مُنْذُ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ  

"U never saw the Messenger of Allah fast two consecutive months, but he used to join shaban to Ramadan." ' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2175)  

مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَامَ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَصِلُ شَعْبَانَ بِرَمَضَانَ  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast to such an extent that we thought that he would never break his fast, and he would go without fasting to such an extent that we thought he would never fast. I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fast a complete month except in Ramadan, and I never saw his fast more in any month than in Sha'ban. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2434)

Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast till one would say that he would never stop fasting, and he would abandon fasting till one would say that he would never fast. I never saw Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasting for a whole month except the month of Ramadan, and did not see him fasting in any month more than in the month of Sha'ban. (Using translation from Bukhārī 1969)  

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ وَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ اسْتَكْمَلَ صِيَامَ شَهْرٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا رَمَضَانَ وَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ أَكْثَرَ صِيَامًا مِنْهُ فِي شَعْبَانَ»  

[Machine] "Aisha and Umm Salamah said: The Prophet ﷺ would not fast for a whole month except for Ramadan, except that he used to join it with Shaban so it would be two consecutive months. He used to fast the entire month until we would say, 'He does not break his fast,' and he would break his fast until we would say, 'He does not fast.'"  

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتَا «مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَصُومُ شَهْرًا سِوَى رَمَضَانَ إِلَّا شَعْبَانَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصِلُهُ بِرَمَضَانَ فَيَكُونُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ وَكَانَ يَصُومُ الشَّهْرَ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ»
