When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a bath because of sexual intercourse, he poured three handfuls of water upon his head. Hasan b. Muhammad said to him (the narrator): My hair is thick. Upon this Jabir observed. I said to him: O son of my brother, the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was thicker than your hair and these were more fine (than yours).

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ صَبَّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلاَثَ حَفَنَاتٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ إِنَّ شَعْرِي كَثِيرٌ قَالَ جَابِرٌ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي كَانَ شَعْرُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ شَعْرِكَ وَأَطْيَبَ

[AI] A man asked, "How many times should I pour water on my head when performing ghusl (ritual purification) from janabah (sexual impurity)?" He responded, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pour water on his head three times." The man asked, "But what if I have a lot of hair?" He answered, "The hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was even more abundant and beautiful."

رَجُلٌ كَمْ يَكْفِي رَأْسِي فِي الْغُسْلِ مِنْ الْجَنَابَةِ؟ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصُبُّ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا قَالَ إِنَّ شَعْرِي كَثِيرٌ؟ قَالَ كَانَ شَعْرُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَكْثَرَ وَأَطْيَبَ

[AI] "How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform ablution? He said: He would pour water on his head three times. He said: My head has a lot of hair. He said: The head of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had more hair and was cleaner than yours."

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَغْتَسِلُ؟ قَالَ كَانَ يَصُبُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا قَالَ إِنَّ رَأْسِي كَثِيرُ الشَّعْرِ قَالَ كَانَ رَأْسُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ رَأْسِكَ وَأَطْيَبَ

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to pour water three times on his head. Shu'bah said, I think it was during the ritual purification after sexual defilement. A man from the Bani Hashim said, "My hair is abundant." Jabir replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had more hair than you and it was more beautiful."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُفْرِغُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا قَالَ شُعْبَةُ أَظُنُّهُ فِي الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ إِنَّ شَعْرِي كَثِيرٌ فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَكْثَرَ شَعْرًا مِنْكَ وَأَطْيَبَ

[AI] Regarding the ritual purification of major impurity, I said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pour water with his hands onto his head three times, then he would say: "I have a lot of hair." So I said, "My son of my brother, the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was more abundant and nicer than your hair."

عَنْ غُسْلِ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقُلْتُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَصُبُّ بِيَدَيْهِ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ إِنِّي كَثِيرُ الشَّعْرِ فَقُلْتُ مَهْ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي كَانَ شَعْرُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ شَعْرِكَ وَأَطْيَبَ

"عَنْ جَابرٍ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَغْرِفُ عَلَى رَأسِه ثَلاثًا، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: إِنّى كثِير (الشَّعَرِ) (* *) فَلاَ يَكْفِينِى، فَقَالَ: كانَ رسُولُ الله ﷺ أَكْثَرَ مِنْكَ شَعَرًا وَأَطْيَبَ".
