The Prophet ﷺ said, "Hurry up with the dead body for if it was righteous, you are forwarding it to welfare; and if it was otherwise, then you are putting off an evil thing down your necks."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجِنَازَةِ فَإِنْ تَكُ صَالِحَةً فَخَيْرٌ تُقَدِّمُونَهَا {إِلَيْهِ} وَإِنْ يَكُ سِوَى ذَلِكَ فَشَرٌّ تَضَعُونَهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ

Make haste at a funeral; if the dead person was good, it is a good state to which you are sending him on; but if he was otherwise it is an evil of which you are ridding yourselves.

Hasten at a funeral, for if (the dead person) is good, you would (soon) bring him close to the good. And if it is otherwise, it is an evil of which you are ridding yourselves.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجَنَازَةِ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ صَالِحَةً قَرَّبْتُمُوهَا إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ كَانَ شَرًّا تَضَعُونَهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ

The Prophet ﷺ as saying: Walk quickly with a funeral, for if the dead person was good it is a good condition to which you are sending him on, but it he was otherwise it is an evil of which you are riding yourselves.

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجَنَازَةِ فَإِنْ تَكُ صَالِحَةً فَخَيْرٌ تُقَدِّمُونَهَا إِلَيْهِ وَإِنْ تَكُ سِوَى ذَلِكَ فَشَرٌّ تَضَعُونَهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ

The Prophet said: "Hurry up with the funeral (procession) for if it was good, you are advancing it to good, and if it was evil, then you are taking it off your necks."

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجَنَازَةِ فَإِنْ يَكُنْ خَيْرًا تُقَدِّمُوهَا إِلَيْهِ وَإِنْ يَكُنْ شَرًّا تَضَعُوهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ

"Hasten with the Janazah, for if it was righteous then your are taking it toward something good, and if it was otherwise, then it is an evil of which you are relieving yourselves."

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجَنَازَةِ فَإِنْ تَكُ صَالِحَةً فَخَيْرٌ تُقَدِّمُونَهَا إِلَيْهِ وَإِنْ تَكُ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ فَشَرٌّ تَضَعُونَهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: ,Hsten with the Janazah, for if it was righteous then you are taking it toward something good, and if it was otherwise, then it is an evil of which you are relieving yourselves."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجِنَازَةِ فَإِنْ تَكُنْ صَالِحَةً فَخَيْرٌ تُقَدِّمُونَهَا إِلَيْهِ وَإِنْ تَكُنْ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ فَشَرٌّ تَضَعُونَهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Hasten with the funeral procession, for if it is righteous, you will bring it closer to good, and if it is otherwise, you will remove evil from your necks." Abdullah bin Ahmad said, "My father narrated to me, and Sufyan Mamun and Ibn Abi Hafsa agreed with him."
