[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Allah, have mercy on those who have their heads shaved." They said, "And also on those who have their hair shortened, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "And also on those who have their hair shortened."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ اللهُمَّ ارْحَمِ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ اللهُمَّ ارْحَمِ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah! Be merciful to those who have their head shaved." The people said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! And (invoke Allah for) those who get their hair cut short." The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah! Be merciful to those who have their head shaved." The people said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! And those who get their hair cut short." The Prophet ﷺ said (the third time), "And to those who get their hair cut short." Nafiʿ said that the Prophet ﷺ had said once or twice, "O Allah! Be merciful to those who get their head shaved," and on the fourth time he added, "And to those who have their hair cut short."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمِ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمِ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ وَقَالَ اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالَ وَقَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ وَقَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah! Forgive those who get their heads shaved." The people asked. "Also those who get their hair cut short?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah! Forgive those who have their heads shaved." The people said, "Also those who get their hair cut short?" The Prophet (invoke Allah for those who have their heads shaved and) at the third time said, "also (forgive) those who get their hair cut short."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَهَا ثَلاَثًا قَالَ وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ
O Allah, have mercy upon those who get their heads shaved. They (the Companions) said: Messenger of Allah, (what about those) who have got their hair clipped? He said: O Allah, have mercy upon those who have got their heads shaved. They (again) said: Messenger of Allah, (what about those) who have got their hair clipped? Thereupon he said: (O Allah, have mercy upon those) who have got their hair clipped.

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O Allah, have mercy on those who have themselves shaved. The people said: Messenger of Allah, and those who have clipped their hair. He again said: O Allah, have mercy on those who have themselves shaved. The people said: Messenger of Allah, those who have clipped their hair. He said: and those who clip their hair.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ» قِيلَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ «رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ» قَالَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ «وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ»

[AI] "Men shaved their heads on the day of Hudaybiyyah, while others trimmed their hair. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'May Allah have mercy on those who shaved.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what about those who trimmed?' He said, 'May Allah have mercy on those who shaved.' They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what about those who trimmed?' حَلَقَ رِجَالٌ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَقَصَّرَ آخَرُونَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالُوا فَمَا بَالُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ظَاهَرْتَ لَهُمُ الرَّحْمَةَ؟ قَالَ لَمْ يَشُكُّوا قَالَ فَانْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ
That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O Allah, have mercy on those who have themselves shaved. The people said: Messenger of Allah, and those who have clipped their hair. He again said: O Allah, have mercy on those who have themselves shaved. The people said: Messenger of Allah, those who have clipped their hair. He said: and those who clip their hair. They said: "O Messenger of Allah, what about those who hold back and don't offer sacrifices?" He said: "O Allah, forgive the sacrificers." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, what about those who hold back and don't offer sacrifices?" He said: "O Allah, forgive the sacrificers." يَحْيَى وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ حَجَّةَ الْوَدَاعِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ؟ قَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "May Allah have mercy upon those who shave their heads." They asked, "What about those who trim their hair?" He replied, "May Allah have mercy upon those who trim their hair as well."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, have mercy on those who shave their hair." They said, "And those who shorten (their hair), Messenger of Allah." He said, "O Allah, have mercy on those who shave." They said, "And those who shorten, Messenger of Allah." He said, "And those who shorten."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you are invited to a wedding feast, you must go to it."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى وَلِيمَةٍ فَلْيَأْتِهَا
Malik related to me from Abu'z-Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Excess water is not withheld in order to prevent herbage from growing."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يُمْنَعُ فَضْلُ الْمَاءِ لِيُمْنَعَ بِهِ الْكَلأُ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, forgive those who shave their heads." They said, "What about those who cut their hair short?" He said the same in the third time, "And those who cut their hair short."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ» قَالُوا وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ «وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads." They asked, "What about those who trim their hair, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied after a while, "And those who trim their hair as well."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «رَحِمَ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ» قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ فَقَالَ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ «وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, forgive the ones who shave (their heads)." A man said, "And the ones who trim (their hair)?" He said, "O Allah, forgive the ones who shave." Then, the man said, "And the ones who trim?" He repeated for the third or fourth time, "And the ones who trim."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ فَقَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ أَوِ الرَّابِعَةِ «وَلِلْمُقَصِّرِينَ»
[AI] About the Prophet ﷺ in one of his sermons, he said, "O Allah, forgive those who shave their heads." A man said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, what about those who trim their hair?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "And those who trim their hair too."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ فِي خُطْبَةٍ لَهُ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ» قَالَ يَقُولُ لَهُ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ»
[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what about those who trim their hair?" He said, "May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads." Then he said, "I mean both."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ «يَرْحَمُ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّقِينَ» فَقَالَ يَعْنِي فِي الرَّابِعَةِ «وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ»
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah! Forgive those who get their heads shaved." The people asked. "Also those who get their hair cut short?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah! Forgive those who have their heads shaved." The people said, "Also those who get their hair cut short?" The Prophet (invoke Allah for those who have their heads shaved and) at the third time said, "also (forgive) those who get their hair cut short." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1728)
سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ» قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُحَلِّقِينَ» قَالُوا وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ قَالَ «وَالْمُقَصِّرِينَ»
[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate the shoulder of a sheep, then he prayed without performing ablution.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَكَلَ كَتِفَ شَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ
[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the price of the dog, the dowry of the prostitute, and the fee of the soothsayer.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ وَمَهْرِ الْبَغِيِّ وَحُلْوَانِ الْكَاهِنِ
[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When one of you comes to Friday prayer, let him perform ablution."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "When you hear the call to prayer, say the same as the caller."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَمِعْتُمُ النِّدَاءَ فَقُولُوا مِثْلَ مَا يَقُولُ الْمُؤَذِّنُ
[AI] We used to pray Asr, then the traveler would go to Quba, and they would come to them while the sun was still high.
كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ ثُمَّ يَذْهَبُ الذَّاهِبُ إِلَى قُبَاءَ فَيَأْتِيهِمْ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ
[AI] "That which is missed of the Asr prayer is as if one has lost his wealth and children."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الَّذِي تَفُوتُهُ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ كَأَنَّمَا وُتِرَ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ
[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting the wording of the Hadith of Yahya ibn Yahya in Maghrib, at At-Tur.
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ بِالطُّورِ فِي الْمَغْرِبِ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should perform prayer at sunrise or sunset."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَتَحَرَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُصَلِّي عِنْدَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَلَا عِنْدَ غُرُوبِهَا
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever stands in prayer during Ramadan out of faith and hope for reward, all his previous sins will be forgiven."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ
[AI] I used to perfume the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for his ihram before he entered the state of ihram, and to shampoo his hair before he performed Tawaf around the Ka'bah.
كُنْتُ أُطَيِّبُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لِإِحْرَامِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُحْرِمَ وَلِحِلِّهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَطُوفَ بِالْبَيْتِ
[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The shade of the wealthy is oppression, and if any one of you is followed in matters of leadership, then let him be followed..."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَطْلُ الْغَنِيِّ ظُلْمٌ وَإِذَا أُتْبِعَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى مَلِيٍّ فَلْيَتْبَعْ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The abundance of water should not be prevented in order to prevent coldness."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يُمْنَعُ فَضْلُ الْمَاءِ لِيُمْنَعَ بِهِ الْكَلَأُ
[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "There should not be any gatherings between a woman and her paternal aunt or maternal aunt." (In another narration of Imam Shafi'i) the Prophet ﷺ said: "There should not be any gatherings between a woman and her paternal aunt or maternal aunt."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يُجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَعَمَّتِهَا وَلَا بَيْنَ الْمَرْأَةِ وَخَالَتِهَا وَفِي رِوَايَةِ الشَّافِعِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ
[AI] Umar ibn Al-Khattab narrated that he used to experience seminal emission during the night, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised him, "Perform ablution and wash your private parts, then sleep."
ذَكَرَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ تُصِيبُهُ الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأْ وَاغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ ثُمَّ نَمْ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you is invited to a wedding feast, let him attend it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْوَلِيمَةِ فَلْيَأْتِهَا
[AI] He used to say that the worst food is the food of a feast where the rich are invited and the poor are left behind, and whoever does not come to the invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. And in Another narration from Abu Abdullah, the food is bad.
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ شَرُّ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامُ الْوَلِيمَةِ يُدْعَى إِلَيْهَا الْأَغْنِيَاءُ وَيُتْرَكُ الْمَسَاكِينُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِ الدَّعْوَةَ فَقَدْ عَصَى اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ بِئْسَ الطَّعَامُ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, when a Jew greets you, one of them will say to you, 'As-salamu 'alaykum,' so say to him, 'Alayka.'"
رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ إِنَّمَا يَقُولُ السَّامُ عَلَيْكَ فَقُلْ عَلَيْكَ
[AI] On the authority of the Prophet, ﷺ , he said: "There is no division or mutual cursing."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا فَرَعَةَ وَلَا عَتِيرَةَ
