٤٨۔ كِتَابُ الرَّضَاعِ ص ٢
[Machine] He said, "Nothing is prohibited from breastfeeding except what is done in infancy."
أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ فِي الصِّغَرِ
[Machine] He used to say that there is no breastfeeding except for those who were breastfed in their infancy.
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ لَا رَضَاعَ إِلَّا لِمَنْ أَرْضَعَ فِي الصِّغَرِ

٤٨۔٥ بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي تَحْدِيدِ ذَلِكَ بِالْحَوْلَيْنِ قَالَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى: {وَالْوَالِدَاتُ يُرْضِعْنَ أَوْلَادَهُنَّ حَوْلَيْنِ كَامِلَيْنِ لِمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُتِمَّ الرَّضَاعَةَ} [البقرة: 233]
[Machine] I heard Umar say, "There is no breastfeeding except in the first two years of infancy."
سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ ؓ يَقُولُ لَا رَضَاعَ إِلَّا فِي الْحَوْلَيْنِ فِي الصِّغَرِ
[Machine] About something, this ink was not present among you, even if it was sent, it has evidence from Ibn Mas'ood.
عَنْ شَيْءٍ مَا كَانَ هَذَا الْحَبْرُ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ هَذَا وَإِنْ كَانَ مُرْسَلًا فَلَهُ شَوَاهِدُ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ
[Machine] From Ibn Mas'ud, a messenger was sent to the two parties.
عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ مُرْسَلًا فِي الْحَوْلَيْنِ
[Machine] He used to say that there is no breastfeeding after the age of two.
كَانَ يَقُولُ لَا رَضَاعَ بَعْدَ حَوْلَيْنِ كَامِلَيْنِ
[Machine] Whatever is in the two periods (before and after) is prohibited, even if it is an act of acquisition.
مَا كَانَ فِي الْحَوْلَيْنِ فَإِنَّهُ يُحَرِّمُ وَإِنْ كَانَ مَصَّةً وَإِنْ كَانَ بَعْدَ الْحَوْلَيْنِ فَلَيْسَ بِشَيْءٍ
[Machine] There is no breastfeeding except what is within the two boundaries, this is the correct and established answer.
لَا رَضَاعَ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ فِي الْحَوْلَيْنِ هَذَا هُوَ الصَّحِيحُ مَوْقُوفٌ
[Machine] He ﷺ said, "Nothing is prohibited by breastfeeding except what is within the two years." Abu Ahmad said, "This is known from Haytham ibn Jamil from Ibn 'Uyaynah, (it is) a musnad or other than Haytham through a stopping (i.e., without specifying a narrator) on Ibn 'Abbas." And we have narrated this specification from the two years from the Tabi'in from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib and 'Urwah ibn Zubayr and al-Sha'bi.
ﷺ قَالَ لَا يُحَرِّمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ فِي الْحَوْلَيْنِ قَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ هَذَا يُعْرَفُ بِالْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ جَمِيلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ مُسْنَدٌ أَوْ غَيْرُ الْهَيْثَمِ بِوَقْفٍ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ وَرُوِّينَا هَذَا التَّحْدِيدُ بِالْحَوْلَيْنِ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَعُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَالشَّعْبِيِّ
[Machine] He used to say: if a woman gives birth and breastfeeds for nine months, it will be enough for her for twenty-one months. And if she gives birth and breastfeeds for seven months, it will be enough for her for twenty-three months. And if she gives birth and breastfeeds for six months, it will be enough for her for twenty-four months, as Allah ﷻ has said.
كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا وَلَدَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ لَتِسْعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ كَفَاهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ أَحَدٌ وَعِشْرُونَ شَهْرًا وَإِذَا وَضَعَتْ لَسَبْعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ كَفَاهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ ثَلَاثَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ شَهْرًا وَإِذَا وَضَعَتْ لِسِتَّةِ أَشْهُرٍ كَفَاهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ أَرْبَعَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ شَهْرًا كَمَا قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ
48.6 [Machine] Women's Testimony in Breastfeeding
٤٨۔٦ بَابُ شَهَادَةِ النِّسَاءِ فِي الرَّضَاعِ
فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَأَعْرَضَ وَتَبَسَّمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَقَالَ وَكَيْفَ وَقَدْ قِيلَ
إِنِّي قَدْ أَرْضَعْتُكُمَا فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ فُلَانَةَ بِنْتَ فُلَانٍ فَجَاءَتْنَا امْرَأَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي قَدْ أَرْضَعْتُكُمَا وَهِيَ كَاذِبَةٌ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَجِئْتُهُ مِنْ قِبَلِ وَجْهِهِ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّهَا كَاذِبَةٌ فَقَالَ وَكَيْفَ وَقَدْ زَعَمَتْ أَنَّهَا قَدْ أَرْضَعَتْكُمَا دَعْهَا عَنْكَ
[Machine] He married Umm Yahya bint Abi Ahad and a black slave girl came and said, "I breastfed both of you." I mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , but he turned away from me. So I left, but then I mentioned it to him again and he said, "How can that be when she claims to have breastfed both of you?" He prohibited me from doing so. This is the wording of the hadith of Yahya bin Sa'id.
أَنَّهُ تَزَوَّجَ أُمَّ يَحْيَى بِنْتَ أَبِي أَهَابٍ فَجَاءَتْ أَمَةٌ سَوْدَاءٌ فَقَالَتْ قَدْ أَرْضَعْتُكُمَا فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنِّي فَتَنَحَّيْتُ ثُمَّ ذَكَرْتُهُ لَهُ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ وَقَدْ زَعَمَتْ أَنَّهَا قَدْ أَرْضَعَتْكُمَا فَنَهَاهُ عَنْهَا لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ
[Machine] "I came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned that to him, but he turned away. So I moved away and mentioned it to him again. He said to me, 'How can that be when it has been claimed that she breastfed both of you?' Ash-Shafi'i said his turning away is similar to not having seen her as a witness who could have testified, and his saying 'How can that be when it has been claimed that she breastfed both of you?' is similar to him disliking to live with her, even though it has been said to him that she is his sister through breastfeeding. And this is the meaning of what we have said: that he left her out of aversion, not ruling."
فَجِئْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَأَعْرَضَ فَتَنَحَّيْتُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ كَيْفَ وَقَدْ زَعَمَتْ أَنَّهَا أَرْضَعَتْكُمَا قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ إِعْرَاضُهُ ﷺ يُشْبِهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَمْ يَرَهَا شَهَادَةً تُلْزِمُهُ وَقَوْلُهُ كَيْفَ وَقَدْ زَعَمَتْ أَنَّهَا أَرْضَعَتْكُمَا يُشْبِهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ كَرِهَ لَهُ أَنْ يُقِيمَ مَعَهَا وَقَدْ قِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّهَا أُخْتُهُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ وَهَذَا مَعْنَى مَا قُلْنَا مِنْ أَنْ يَتْرُكَهَا وَرَعًا لَا حُكْمًا
[Machine] Your wife is not needed in this message and it is sent from another source.
دُونَكَ امْرَأَتَكَ هَذَا مُرْسَلٌ وَرُوِيَ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ
[Machine] It is not permissible for women to be less than four.
لَا تَجُوزُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ أَقَلُّ مِنْ أَرْبَعٍ
[Machine] A man or a woman, this is a weak chain of narration that does not establish proof. Muhammad ibn Uthaymeen is accused of lying, and Ibn Baylaman is weak and there is a disagreement about his text. Some say it is like this, and some say it is a man and a woman, and some say it is a man and two women. And Allah knows best.
رَجُلٌ أَوِ امْرَأَةٌ فَهَذَا إِسْنَادٌ ضَعِيفٌ لَا تَقُومُ بِمِثْلِهِ الْحُجَّةُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثَيْمٍ يُرْمَى بِالْكَذِبِ وَابْنُ الْبَيْلَمَانِيِّ ضَعِيفٌ وَقَدِ اخْتُلِفَ عَلَيْهِ فِي مَتْنِهِ فَقِيلَ هَكَذَا وَقِيلَ رَجُلٌ وَامْرَأَةٌ وَقِيلَ رَجُلٌ وَامْرَأَتَانِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
48.7 [Machine] El-Radhkhi End Al-Fisal
٤٨۔٧ بَابُ الرَّضْخِ عِنْدَ الْفِصَالِ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, and Ibn Abi Zinad informed me, from his father, from Uroah ibn Al-Zubair, from Hajjaj ibn Hajjaj Al-Aslami, from his father, that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "O Messenger of Allah, what removes from me the blame of breastfeeding?" So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The completion of the servitude and the woman, and likewise."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِيهِ ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ حَجَّاجِ بْنِ حَجَّاجٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا يُذْهِبُ عَنِّي مَذَمَّةَ الرَّضَاعِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْغُرَّةُ الْعَبْدُ وَالْأَمَةُ وَكَذَلِكَ
48.8 [Machine] What is mentioned in the milk resembles it.
٤٨۔٨ بَابُ مَا وَرَدَ فِي اللَّبَنِ يُشْبِهُ عَلَيْهِ
[Machine] A man from the tribe of Kinanah, from the tribe of Fulan, said to you, "No, but they nursed me." So 'Umar said, "I heard him say that milk resembles him (in terms of kinship)."
رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ أَنْتَ فَقُلْتُ لَا وَلَكِنَّهُمْ أَرْضَعُونِي فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ ؓ يَقُولُ إِنَّ اللَّبَنَ يُشْبِهُ عَلَيْهِ
[Machine] Umar ibn Al-Khattab said, "Indeed, breastfeeding creates similarity."
عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الرَّضَاعَ يُشْبِهُ عَلَيْهِ
[Machine] The milk resembles it, and in it is a narrated hadith.
اللَّبَنُ يُشْبِهُ عَلَيْهِ وَرُوِيَ فِيهِ حَدِيثٌ مُرْسَلٌ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade breastfeeding from the foolish woman, for indeed breast milk resembles this one being sent.
نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ تُسْتَرْضَعَ الْحَمْقَاءُ فَإِنَّ اللَّبَنَ يُشْبِهُ هَذَا مُرْسَلٌ
48.9 [Machine] What was mentioned in the ghee?
٤٨۔٩ بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْغِيلَةِ
I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Do not kill your children secretly, for the milk, with which a child is suckled while his mother is pregnant, overtakes the horseman and throws him from his horse. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3881)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا تَقْتُلُوا أَوْلَادَكُمْ سِرًّا فَإِنَّ الْغَيْلَ يُدْرِكُ الْفَارِسَ فَيُدَعْثِرُهُ عَنْ فَرَسِهِ
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I had intended to prohibit the taking of all forms of interest (usury), but then I remembered that the Romans and Persians engage in such practices and it does not harm their offspring.'"
رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَنْهَى عَنِ الْغِيلَةِ حَتَّى ذَكَرْتُ أَنَّ الرُّومَ وَفَارِسَ يَصْنَعُونَ ذَلِكَ فَلَا يَضُرُّ أَوْلَادَهُمْ
لَهُ إِنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَعْزِلُ عَنِ امْرَأَتِي فَقَالَ لِمَ؟ فَقَالَ شَفَقًا عَلَى وَلَدِهَا قَالَ إِنْ كَانَ كَذَلِكَ فَلَا مَا ضَرَّ ذَلِكَ فَارِسَ وَالرُّومَ
أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ الصُّفْرَةَ يَعْنِي الْخَلُوقَ وَتَغْيِيرَ الشَّيْبِ يَعْنِي نَتْفَ الشَّيْبِ وَجَرَّ الْإِزَارِ وَالتَّخَتُّمَ بِالذَّهَبِ وَالضَّرْبَ بِالْكِعَابِ وَالتَّبَرُّجَ بِالزِّينَةِ وَإِفْسَادَ الصَّبِيِّ غَيْرَ مَحْرَمِهِ قَالَ يُوسُفُ وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ ثنا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ
48.10 [Machine] What is prohibited from feeding a baby?
٤٨۔١٠ بَابُ مَا يُنْهَى عَنْهُ مِنَ ادِّغَارِ الرَّضِيعِ
[Machine] I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ with my child, and I had hung on him a piece of silk fabric. Ali said, "Why do you burden your children with this fabric when you can burden them with this Indian oud?" For in it there are seven medicinal herbs that can be rubbed with it for healing, and it can be used for childbirth.
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِابْنٍ لِي وَقَدْ أَعْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ مَا تَدْغَرْنَ أَوْلَادَكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعِلَاقِ عَلَيْكُنَّ بِهَذَا الْعُودِ الْهِنْدِيِّ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ سَبْعَةُ أَشْفِيَةٍ يُسْعَطُ بِهِ مِنَ الْعُذْرَةِ وَيُلَدُّ بِهِ مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ
