The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Support your brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed.” A man said: “O Messenger of Allah, I ˹would˺ support him when he is oppressed, but what if he is an oppressor? How do I support him?” He said: “Restrain him,” or “Prevent him from wrongdoing, for that is supporting him.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا»، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنْصُرُهُ إِذَا كَانَ مَظْلُومًا، أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِذَا كَانَ ظَالِمًا كَيْفَ أَنْصُرُهُ؟ قَالَ: «تَحْجُزُهُ» أَوْ «تَمْنَعُهُ مِنَ الظُّلْمِ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ نَصْرُهُ».

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا نَنْصُرُهُ مَظْلُومًا فَكَيْفَ نَنْصُرُهُ ظَالِمًا قَالَ تَأْخُذُ فَوْقَ يَدَيْهِ

"Help your brother whether he is an oppressor or oppressed." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! I help him when he is oppressed. But how can I help him when he oppresses?" He said: "Prevent him from oppression, that is your help for him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَصَرْتُهُ مَظْلُومًا فَكَيْفَ أَنْصُرُهُ ظَالِمًا قَالَ تَكُفُّهُ عَنِ الظُّلْمِ فَذَاكَ نَصْرُكَ إِيَّاهُ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Help your brother, whether he is the oppressor or the oppressed." It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah, we understand how to help him when he is oppressed, but how do we help him when he is the oppressor?" He said, "By preventing him from oppressing."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذَا نَنْصُرُهُ مَظْلُومًا فَكَيْفَ نَنْصُرُهُ ظَالِمًا؟ قَالَ تَمْنَعُهُ مِنَ الظُّلْمِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2443)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا نَصَرُهُ مَظْلُومًا فَكَيْفَ أَنْصُرُهُ ظَالِمًا؟ قَالَ «تُمْسِكُهُ مِنَ الظُّلْمِ فَذَاكَ نَصْرُكَ إِيَّاهُ»

"Help your brother whether he is an oppressor or oppressed." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! I help him when he is oppressed. But how can I help him when he oppresses?" He said: "Prevent him from oppression, that is your help for him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2255)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا» فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا نَنْصُرُهُ مَظْلُومًا فَكَيْفَ أَنْصُرُهُ ظَالِمًا؟ قَالَ «تَكُفُّهُ عَنِ الظُّلْمِ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Support your brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed." The companions asked, "O Messenger of Allah, we understand supporting him when he is oppressed, but how do we support him when he is an oppressor?" He replied, "By preventing him from oppression."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا يَنْصُرُهُ مَظْلُومًا فَكَيْفَ يَنْصُرُهُ ظَالِمًا قَالَ «يَكُفُّهُ عَنِ الظُّلْمِ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ نَصَرْتُهُ مَظْلُومًا فَكَيْفَ أَنْصُرُهُ ظَالِمًا؟ قَالَ تَمْنَعُهُ مِنَ الظُّلْمِ فَذَلِكَ نَصْرُكَ إِيَّاهُ

"انصر أخاك ظالمًا، أَو مظلومًا. قيل: يا رسولَ الله أَنْصُره مظلومًا، فكيف أَنصره ظالمًا؟ قال: تحجِزه عن الظُلْمِ. فإِن ذلك نصْرُه".

"عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَعِنْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظلُومًا. فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، هَذَا أَنْصُرُهُ مَظْلُومًا، أَرَأيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ ظَالِمًا؟ قَالَ: امْنَعْهُ مِنَ الظُّلْمِ، وَازْجُرْهُ، فَإِنَّ فِى ذَلِكَ نَصْرَهُ".
