[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Beware of sitting on the roads. Perhaps Ma'mar said on elevated platforms." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have to meet in our gatherings." He said, "Then fulfill its rights." They asked, "What are its rights?" He said, "Greet each other with peace, lower your gaze, guide the one who asks for directions, order what is good, and forbid what is evil."  

أحمد:١١٥٨٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ رَجُلٍعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْجُلُوسَ عَلَى الطَّرِيقِ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ عَلَى الصُّعُدَاتِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَا بُدَّ لَنَا مِنْ مَجَالِسِنَا قَالَ فَأَدُّوا حَقَّهَا قَالُوا وَمَا حَقُّهَا؟ قَالَ رُدُّوا السَّلَامَ وَغُضُّوا الْبَصَرَ وَأَرْشِدُوا السَّائِلَ وَأْمُرُوا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَوْا عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If you must sit there, then observe the rights of the way." They asked, "What are the rights of the way?" He said, "They are the lowering of your gazes (on seeing what is illegal to look at), refraining from harming people, returning greetings, advocating good and forbidding evil."
