٥.٦۔ مسند المكثرين من الصحابة > مسند أبي سعيد الخدري ؓ ص ١٣

ahmad:11585Ismāʿīl > Ayyūb > Nāfiʿ

[Machine] He spoke to him about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he said, "Did you hear him?" He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Do not sell gold for gold, nor silver for silver, except equal for equal, and do not sell what is not present on the spot for a price.'"

ahmad:11586ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Zayd b. Aslam > a manʿan Abū Saʿīd

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Beware of sitting on the roads. Perhaps Ma'mar said on elevated platforms." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have to meet in our gatherings." He said, "Then fulfill its rights." They asked, "What are its rights?" He said, "Greet each other with peace, lower your gaze, guide the one who asks for directions, order what is good, and forbid what is evil."

ahmad:11587ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > ʿAlī b. Zayd b. Judʿān > Abū Naḍrahaʿan Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Asr prayer with us one day while the sun was still up, then he stood up and delivered a sermon until the sun set. He did not leave out anything that will occur until the Day of Judgment; he informed those who remembered and those who forgot, saying, "O people, indeed this world is green and sweet, and indeed Allah will replace you in it, so look at how you will act. So fear this world and fear women. Surely, every betrayer will have a banner on the Day of Judgment according to the extent of his betrayal. It will be raised at his side and with it, he will be judged. And there is no betrayer greater than a public ruler." Then he mentioned good manners and said, "A man can be quick-tempered and hasty in decisions, so this is his character. And a man can be patient in decision-making, so this is his character. The best of them are those who are patient in temperament and quick in decision-making, and the worst of them are those who are quick-tempered and slow in decision-making." He then said, "Indeed, anger is a fire in the heart of the son of Adam, have you not seen the reddening of his eyes and the trembling of his veins? So when one of you finds that, then let him sit down or, he said, let him lie down on the ground." He then mentioned desires and said, "A man can have good desires but poor judgment, so this is his character. And a man can have good judgment but poor desires, so this is his character. The best of them are those with good desires and good judgment, and the worst of them are those with poor desires and poor judgment." He then said in his narration, "And there is nothing better than a word of justice that is spoken in the presence of an oppressive ruler, so do not let the fear of people prevent any of you from speaking the truth when he sees it or witnesses it." Abu Sa'eed then wept and said, "By Allah, we were prevented from doing that." He said, "And indeed, you will complete seventy nations, you are the best and most honorable of them in the sight of Allah." Then the sun began to decline towards its setting, and he said, "Indeed, whatever is left from this world is equivalent to what has passed of your day."

[Machine] I heard Mujalid say, "I bear witness that Abu al-Waddak testified on Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that he heard him say that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'Indeed, the people of Paradise will see the people of the Aliyyin (i.e. noble and pious individuals) as you see the star Al-Kawkaab Ad-Durri (a bright star) in the horizon of the sky. And indeed, Abu Bakr and Umar will be among them and they will be blessed.'" Isma'il bin Abu Khalid, who was sitting with Mujalid on the table, said, "And I bear witness that Atiyyah al-Awfi testified on Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that he heard the Prophet, ﷺ , say that."

We threw stones at him with bones and pottery until he complained. He kept moving until he stood upright in the open space. We continued to throw stones at him with clumps of dirt until he became silent."

While we were listening to the Quran, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and sat among us to count himself as one of us. The reader stopped and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "What were you saying?" We said, "O Messenger of Allah, we had a reader who would recite the Book of Allah to us." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ , raising his hand and gesturing with it towards himself, said, "By the One in whose Hand is my soul, he made them turn away from themselves to him and said, 'shave your heads'. The circle of people turned and I did not see anyone other than myself whom the Messenger of Allah recognized." So he said, "Rejoice, O people of the Sa'laik, you will enter Paradise half a day before the rich, and that is five hundred years."

By Allah, you have never done justice!" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "By Allah, after me you will not find anyone more just towards you than me, three times." Umar then said, "O Messenger of Allah, may I be permitted to kill him?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "No, for he has companions who depreciate their prayers when compared to their prayers, and their fasting when compared to their fasting. They swiftly pass through the religion like an arrow passing through its target. He looks up at his companions, but he does not see anything. Among them is a man with hands like the lumps of meat or like the teats of a female camel. They will come out as a separate group from among the people, and they will be closer in proximity to the two factions. Allah willing." [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told us that he said, "Verily, there is an hour on Friday that no Muslim coincides with while he is in prayer, asking Allah for good, except that He will give it to him." He said, "Abu Hurairah then gestured it with his hand, saying, 'When Abu Hurairah was about to pass away, I said, 'By Allah, if I come to Abu Sa'eed and ask him about this hour, to have knowledge of it, and then I come to him and find him straightening his ankles, I will ask him, 'O Abu Sa'eed, what are these ankles that I see you straightening?' He said, 'These are the ankles that Allah has made blessed for us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ loved them and would specify them, so we would straighten them and bring them to him.' He then saw spittle on the Qibla of the mosque, and there was dark dung in his hand, so he wiped it and said, 'When one of you is in prayer, let him not spit in front of him, for his Lord is in front of him. Let him spit to his left or beneath his foot. If he does not find a place for spittle, then it is in his garment or in his shoes.' He said, 'Then the sky rained from that night, and when the Prophet ﷺ went out to the last of the 'Isha prayers, there was a flash of lightning, so he saw Qatadah bin Nu'man and said, 'What is this, O Qatadah?' Qatadah replied, 'I knew, O Messenger of Allah, that there are few who attend the prayer, so I desired to attend it.' He said, 'So when you pray, remain steady until I come to you.' So when the Prophet ﷺ finished, he gave him the dung, saying, 'Take this, it will illuminate your path ten steps ahead of you and ten steps behind you. So when you enter your home and see a black spot in a corner of your house, strike it before it speaks, for it is a devil.' He said, 'So he did so. We love these ankles for that reason.' I said, 'O Abu Sa'eed, Abu Hurairah narrated to us about the hour on Friday. Do you have any knowledge of it?' He said, 'I asked the Prophet ﷺ about it and he said, 'I had knowledge of it, then I forgot it, just as I forgot the Night of Decree.' He said, 'Then I left from him and entered upon Abdullah bin Salam.'"
