Gold is to be paid for by gold, silver by silver, wheat by wheat, barley by barley, dates by dates, salt by salt, like by like, payment being made hand to hand. He who made an addition to it, or asked for an addition, in fact dealt in usury. The receiver and the giver are equally guilty. (Using translation from Muslim 1584e)

“Do I not have the right that you should listen to me and obey?” They said: “Yes.” He said: “And if I command you to do something, will you not do it?” They said: “Of course.” He said: “Then I command you to jump into this fire.” Some people got up and got ready to jump, and when he saw that they were about to jump, he said: “Restrain yourselves, for I was joking with you.” When we came to Al-Madinah, they mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever among you commands you to do something that involves disobedience to Allah, do not obey him.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2863)

[Machine] That a young boy came to the Prophet ﷺ one day with fresh dates. The dates of the Prophet ﷺ were dry. The Prophet ﷺ said, "How did you get these dates?" The boy said, "We bought a saa' of our dates with two saa's of these dates." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not do this, for this is not permissible. Instead, sell your dates and buy whichever dates you wish."

[Machine] I entered upon Abu Salamah and he brought us butter and a piece of cheese. Then a fly fell into the food, so Abu Salamah picked it up with his finger and threw it away. I said, "O Uncle, what are you doing?" He replied, "Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'One of the wings of a fly contains poison, while the other contains a cure. So when a fly falls into the food, dip it fully, for the poison is on one wing, and the cure is on the other.'"

[Machine] "We were confined on the Day of the Trench until the darkness of night disappeared, and that was when God had sufficed the believers in battle, and God is powerful and mighty. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then called Bilal and commanded him to make the call to prayer. He established the Dhuhr prayer and performed it perfectly as he used to do it at its proper time. Then he established the Asr prayer and performed it similarly. Next, he established the Maghrib prayer and performed it similarly. Finally, he established the Isha prayer and performed it similarly. All of this happened before he descended to perform the prayer of fear. Hajjaj said about the prayer of fear, 'If you are afraid, then pray on foot or while riding.' " [Quran 2:239]

[Machine] Have you heard anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about al-'azl (coitus interruptus)? He said: Yes, we asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about al-'azl, and he said: What is that? We said: That a man has a wife who is breastfeeding, so he desires her but dislikes the idea of her becoming pregnant. He therefore withdraws from her, and a man has a slave girl and he has no wealth besides her, so he desires her yet dislikes the idea of her becoming pregnant. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: There is no harm if you do not do it, for that is a matter that Allah has decreed.

Muhairiz said “I entered the mosque and saw Abu Sa’id Al Khudri . I sat with him and asked about withdrawing the penis (while having intercourse). Abu Sa’id said We went out with the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ on the expedition to Banu Al Mustaliq and took some Arab women captive and we desired the women for we were suffering from the absence of our wives and we wanted ransom, so we intended to withdraw the penis (while having intercourse with the slave women). But we asked ourselves “can we draw the penis when the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ is among us before asking him about it? So we asked him about it. He said “it does not matter if you do not do it, for very soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2172)

‘Ali sent some gold-mixed dust to the prophet (May peace be upon him). He divided it among the four : al-Aqra b. Habis al-Hanzall and then al-Mujashi, uyainah b. Badr al-fazari, zaid al-khail al-Ta’l, next to one of Banu nabhan, and ‘Alqamah b. ‘Ulathat al-Amiri (in general), next to one of Banu kulaib. The Quraish and the ansar became angry and said : He is giving to the chiefs of the people of Najd and leaving us. He said : I am giving them for reconciliation of their hearts. Then a man with deep-seated eyes, high cheek-bones, a projecting brow, a thick beard and a shaven head came forward and said: For Allah, Muhammad! He said : Who will obey Allah if I disobey Him? Allah entrusts me with power over the inhabitants of the earth, but you do not. A man asked to be allowed to kill him and I think he was Khalid b. al-Walid but he prevented him. Then when the man turned away, he said: From this one’s stock there will be people who recite the Quran, but it will not pass down their throats. They will sever from Islam and leave the worshippers of Idols alone; but if I live up to their time I shall certainly kill them as 'Ad were killed. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4764)

Did you do any good or did you hope for My mercy?' He will reply, 'No, O Lord.' So he will be commanded to be taken to the Hellfire, and he will be the most deserving of its inhabitants. Then Allah will say to the other person, 'O son of Adam, what did you prepare for this day? Did you do any good or did you hope for My mercy?' He will reply, 'Yes, O Lord. I sincerely hoped that You would not return me to the Hellfire ever again.' So a tree will be raised for him, and he will say, 'O Lord, enable me to sit in its shade, eat from its fruits, and drink from its water.' He will be promised not to be asked for anything else, and he will be brought closer to it. Then another tree, better than the first one, will be raised for him, and he will have the same request. Finally, a tree will be raised at the gate of Paradise, which is the best of all, and a stream of abundant water will flow from it. He will make the same request as before, and he will hear the voices of the inhabitants of Paradise. He will not be able to contain himself and he will say, 'O Lord, admit me into Paradise.' Allah the Exalted and Glorious will say, 'Ask Me and I shall grant you your request.' So the man will ask and ask until he asks for an amount equivalent to the duration of three days in this worldly life. He will say, 'You will have what you asked for and ten times more with it.' Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri said: "One of them said to his companion: 'Relate to me what you have heard.' And the companion likewise asked his companion to relate to him what he had heard."
