[Machine] He was flogged during the time of the Prophet ﷺ for intoxication with forty lashes using two sandals. But when the time of Umar came, he was flogged instead with a whip for each sandal.  

أحمد:١١٦٤١حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ

جُلِدَ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الْخَمْرِ بِنَعْلَيْنِ أَرْبَعِينَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ زَمَنُ عُمَرَ جُلِدَ بَدَلَ كُلِّ نَعْلٍ سَوْطًا
