He who patiently endures the hardships of it (of this city of Medina), I would be an intercessor or a withness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى لأْوَائِهَا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Abu Abd al-Rahmin, I have decided to leave (Medina) for the time is hard for us, whereupon Abdullah said to her: Stay here, foolish lady, for I have heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: For one who shows endurance on the hardships and rigour of it (of Medina) I would be an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.

إِنِّي أَرَدْتُ الْخُرُوجَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ اشْتَدَّ عَلَيْنَا الزَّمَانُ فَقَالَ لَهَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ اقْعُدِي لَكَاعِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: He who patiently endured the hardships and rigours of (this city, i. e. Medina), I would be his witness and intercessor on the Day of Resurrection.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى لأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَعْنِي الْمَدِينَةَ

For one among my Ummah who shows endurance against the hardships and rigours of Medina, I would be an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لأْوَاءِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي إِلاَّ كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَوْ شَهِيدًا

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "None of you can bear the hardships and difficulties of the world except that I will be his intercessor or witness on the Day of Resurrection."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَصْبِرُ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[AI] The translation of the given Arabic text is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: No one endures hardship and difficulty with patience, except that I will be a witness or an intercessor for him on the Day of Judgment."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَصْبِرُ أَحَدٌ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[AI] "Peace be upon you, O Aba Abdullah Rahman," she said, "What is your concern?" He replied, "I wanted to go out to the countryside." He said to her, "Sit down, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'No one endures the hardships and difficulties of a place except that I will be a witness or intercessor for him on the Day of Resurrection.'"

عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ وَمَا شَأْنُكِ؟ قَالَتْ أَرَدْتُ الْخُرُوجَ إِلَى الرِّيفِفَقَالَ لَهَا اقْعُدِي فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Whoever endures the difficulties and hardships of a disaster, I will intercede for him on the Day of Judgment, or be a witness for him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No one bears the hardships and efforts of Medina except that I will intercede for him or bear witness for him on the Day of Judgment."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَصْبِرُ أَحَدٌ عَلَى لَأْوَاءِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَجَهْدِهَا إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

For one among my Ummah who shows endurance against the hardships and rigours of Medina, I would be an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection. (Using translation from Muslim 1378a)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَاءِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَوْ شَهِيدًا

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Whoever remains patient in the face of its hardships and its adversities, I will intercede or bear witness for him on the Day of Resurrection."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَدِينَةُ مَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى شِدَّتِهَا وَلَأْوَائِهَا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Qatan ibn Wahb ibn Umayr ibn al-Ajda that Yuhannas, the mawla of az-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam informed him that he was sitting with Abdullah ibn Umar during the troubles (at the time of al-Hajaj ibn Yusuf) . A female mawla of his came and greeted him. She said, "I want to leave, Abu Abd ar-Rahman. The time is harsh for us." Abdullah ibn Umar said to her, "Sit down, O you with little knowledge, for I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No one will be patient in hunger and hardship in it (Madina) except that I will be a witness or intercede for him on the Day of Rising.' "

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ فَأَتَتْهُ مَوْلاَةٌ لَهُ تُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي أَرَدْتُ الْخُرُوجَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ اشْتَدَّ عَلَيْنَا الزَّمَانُ فَقَالَ لَهَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ اقْعُدِي لُكَعُ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Anyone who endures the difficulties and hardships of traveling [for the sake of Allah] will have me interceding for him on the Day of Judgment."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَال لاَ يصبر أحد على شدتها إلاَّ كنت له شَهِيدًا يوم القيامة

عَن النَّبِيّ ﷺ قَال لاَ يصبر على لأوائها أحد إلاَّ كنت له شَفِيعًا أو شَهِيدًا

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ لا يصبر على لأوائها أحد إلاَّ كنت له شَفِيعًا أو شهيدا

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "No one endures the hardships of Medina and its surroundings and dies except that I will intercede for him or he will be a martyr on the Day of Resurrection, if he is a Muslim."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَصْبِرُ أَحَدٌ عَلَى جَهْدِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَلَأْوَائِهَا فَيَمُوتُ إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا أَوْ شَهِيدًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِذَا كَانَ مُسْلِمًا»

Abu Abd al-Rahmin, I have decided to leave (Medina) for the time is hard for us, whereupon Abdullah said to her: Stay here, foolish lady, for I have heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: For one who shows endurance on the hardships and rigour of it (of Medina) I would be an intercessor or a witness on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection. إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الْخُرُوجَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ اشْتَدَّ عَلَيْنَا الزَّمَانُ فَقَالَ لَهَا عَبْدُ اللهِ اقْعُدِي لَكَاعِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لَأْوَائِهَا وَشِدَّتِهَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَهِيدًا أَوْ شَفِيعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

"لا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى لأوَاءِ المدينةِ وَشِدَّتِها أحَدٌ من أمَّتِي إلا كنْتُ له شفيعًا أوْ شَهيدًا يومَ القيامةِ".
