Jabir bin ‘Abdallah said “Neither the Prophet ﷺ nor his Companions ran between Al Safa’ and Al Marwah except once and that was his first running.”
The Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who accompanied him did not go round the Ka'bah till they threw pebbles at the Jamrah (pillar at Mina).
‘Ata said The Prophet ﷺ said to A’ishah Your observance of circumambulation of the Ka’bah and your running between Al Safa’ and al Marwah (only once) are sufficient for your Hajj and your ‘Umrah. Al Shafi’i said The narrator Sufyan has transmitted this tradition from ‘Ata on the authority of A’ishah and also narrated it on the authority of ‘Ata stating that the Prophet ﷺ said to A’ishah(may Allah be pleased with her).
